What you think about possibility build modular base in some of DK system deep in Altair Sector?

Now that could be an interesting idea. Depending on what system it could be used to stage events like DK hunt, Also it would make a nice break on the long trip back to sirius. If this goes ahead I will be there to support and help with the build

There also is daily Tour de Universe which can be used by racers to keep ships docked after finish (no more need leave ship in space) or prepared for next day.
My personal favourite is Tonga (even if Ptah offers imo even nicer place where can be base placed).
Btw, this idea is already approved by OP and Huor, so it is only on players to decide details

i see the advantages of such a base. hopefully we have enough players willing to spend hours and hours to bring the trains there ...
with DS17 we needed around 1 year to finish it. with an Altair base we would definetely need more.
oh wait, Thanrui is back, we need just a month to finish

I'm just saying human expansion into space hasn't really ended that well. They usually end up pissing off an ancient alien race or uncover some horror that threatens the universe.

It's the only change to actually sit there enjoying the travel and looking at the scenery n views though, those slow systems.

idk. I like the idea of an engine upgrade similar to the cloaking device: Go through a series of near impossible tasks to collect 3 unique pieces of equipment before they're "Assembled" and through a hook command, your engine output (speed) is increase 500% for 2 minutes before the system shuts down for 60 minutes and you are unable to use the super engine. Of course, a special resource should be in the player's hold that serves as the "fuel." It should be incredibly dense to limit the abuse of the engine. Maybe not horribly nerfed where it's not worth it, but it's maybe slightly heavier than Gold (as 1 unit of gold takes up 2x cargo space in game; 1000 unit hold can have 500 gold)

Please, keep it on topic. Modular base clearly is possible to have, new jumps and other stuff no and it should be for different discussion. There were some ideas about base position, it would be nice if there is given also position for it.
My idea is build it close to Planet Patras in Tonga. That ringed ELW is really great looking and base will look awesome there. This system is also good positioned on race event and also on back-way from Inner Core.
