on CF is not the best ship ... player flying skills in most cases decide about result. I suggest use search button, your question was asked more as one time

... if your main goal is exploration and fighting npcs, then you can go with almost everything and take what design you like most.

Please explain what exactly you mean by "opening fighter shown in the Crossfire beginning", or just provide a screenshot of the ship you're looking for (PrintScreen key pressed in game saves a screen capture to My Images folder).

Your question about the best fighter does not have a certain answer - the choice always depends on one's preference. I personally use Reaper (Lhasa Station, Casius) and Lagg (Charkow Outpost, Sovetskaya), but most commonly spread fighters on the server are Cayman (Battleship Nagumo, Kyushu), Chimera (Capua Station, Helios), Saracen (Donezk Station, Vorkuta) and Redemption (Station Hope, Tarsus). Please note that "most commonly" does not mean "99% cases", actually you can see a great variety of ships used by different players. It only proves that the best fighter is the one you like

you are probably speaking of the ship called Bastard - here it is on the right side of the picture:

One can buy a Bastard at Montezuma Base (Cortez) and Arranmore Base (Dublin), both run by criminals - Liberty Rogues and Mollys respectively.

I couldn't get what you meant by "opening", until remembering that I always select "skip all movies" during the mod activation

I only want add that Bastard is rly very slow turning ship ... when was created intro was needed to use "god" mode (invulnerability). But for flying in Sirius space is usable If you want something small and agile then look for ship which used Juni ( Butcher ).

The best ship.Let me think.I think the ship is as good as the pilot flying it.I'd like to get my hands on a Redemption.i haven't seen one but I hear good things about it.Right now I'm flying a Pioneer.It's a good solid ship.It handles very well and it looks good.

Note the weaponry. If we take ships as MMORPG characters, Redemption is Ranged DPS. Its protection is excellent, also it has high strafing and impulse speed, as well as the Deimos:

Deimos has less armor and bots/bats, but offers 360 degree class 10 turret. I also like this one:

No agility at all, takes half of a day to make 360 turn, but armor isn't the weakest and amount of bots/bats is reassuring in PvE, especially in Inner Core. It is Tank (Tank/Healer if mastered) in MMORPG classification. I don't recommend to fly it(Basilisk) at all.

Personally to me, i like the Iguana, which can be bought at Pescara Station in Enigma. The ship is so small that i feel very secure inside it. Even the cockpit is very comfortable. i also installed an exhaust or ID fan in my cockpit so that all smoke from my cigarette is discharged into space. Anyway, you should try several other ships like i did before. it's quite costly to do that, but by having the most suitable ship to your preference is priceless.

I just purchased a "Komodo Dragon".A very impressive ship when armed with 2 "Dom'Kavash Annihilators"and 2"Phoenix Project Cannons"

Is anyone using the NIGHTHAWK VHF ?
its got a lot of armor & moves about slightly less than the eagle but even with a $10m armor upgrade DOM,K gunboats cut through me like shit ?

Check combat guides in CF wiki ... CF NPCs are challenging. Nighthawk should be able dealt with DK gunboats normally if properly used.

ged67 i have a nighthawk and it loved dk,s. most fighters are great just have to try them to your liking and it also depends on how you use them as in skills and tactics

As others have said, the best ship is the one you like and works for you. I use multiple ships. I have a Warblade I use in SP and I use the Redemption, Phoenix and Bullpup MK III for MP. Once 2.0 is out I will create yet another character and try other ships until I find one that fits what I am doing or want to do. IMHO I think getting wrapped up on just one ship limits your options.

again....depends on how you want fight. A big ship with lots of batts/bots is the (Ajay approved) Basilks. I prefer a more delicate approach of, "smaller is harder to hit" and go with the Iguana.
