Fine/tax limits reminder

  • A while ago I was playing with a friend and I said that he couldn't hunt me down and kill me successfully, but he was a mercenary license, and this char of mine was mid 40's. We figured it would be easy for me to set a $500,000 bounty on myself, because that was within the rules, and he could try and hunt me down. However, it tells me that I can only set 1 million or higher for a bounty. After that, we both tried it on various different characters of ours and even a volunteer in-case it was our chars that had the problem, however, none of us still could. It says that levels 41-51 are a maximum of 500,000 credits. Is this a known problem, or has nobody said anything?

  • I pay taxes on regular bases in my trade character.Now i wear police license and run police role play based clan so no more smuggling/trading.These days i only mining, and i never switching my char while RP in process.Legal trading sucks and We-police addressed this problem months ago.


    However, i will never pay tax in my fighter characters.This is the thing which need to be discussed.


    Imo we need new rule here.
    If u lose the 1st fight pay the tax and later continue with fighting if u wish,but if pirate lose the fight he must leave this system for 2h.

  • 2 years ago i propouse wen pirate tax cop to have 1 fight and if the cop die he pay tax if pirate die he will let himslef be arested
    -AREST RP wich i propouse was simple-go in formatin with the cop and let him take you to the nearest prison, OR aut of the system

  • I agree with Bond and SHS regarding improvements RP.


    For me is ok:


    Pirat vs Police ........ whoever loses pays tax/fine and leave sistem for 15 min. (or to the two lost the fight. 2:0 2:1 1:2 0:2)


    This would open a place for mercenaries that helped to re-capture system.

  • That could make things interesting, but what about people who own very high value ships, battleship, and are being taxed/fined and simply don't have the funds to pay for it even though their rank is high? In a BS, you'll be around rank 52 to start with, which means you can be taxed 1mil. What if you only have 700k? If I was in that situation, and I simply wouldn't pay tax regardless, I'd stand and fight. If these rules are implemented, how do you pay what you don't have? My proposition is to allow people, in RP, to run. Enough of that "HE'S AVOIDING RP" crap. Why can't people be allowed to run from the pirate? Now, if the person swapped chars, that'd be avoiding RP, but if he sits there at the place where he's "hiding," can't that be allowed?

  • I'll give OP a break and tell you right now : no rules will be added/removed. No matter how it appears a good idea to propose your ideas to the public, it's better you propose it to OP only first. Discussing new rules on the forum is risky (flames, some trying to advantage themselves, complaining generator, etc...) and will not lead anywhere because the rule decider (OP) will not like public talks about it...


    here is how to proceed : propose to OP your rule modifications by PM. If he agrees to let you talk publicly about refining and balancing your idea, you may take it on the forums...

    I think the public debate is necessary, the only way one can reach the correct conclusions and it does not need underestimate the intelligence of other players.



    The current RP is reduced to BMG. and sporadic clashes with police and pirates occasional thin bounty (5 mil bounty is rare like 500g tartuf).

  • 1. Players here don't know how to RP or how to "be in character" to RP.
    2. The police taking prisoners to a prison has been tried before about 3 years ago, didn't work. ( please see reason 1)
    3. Expansion of RP or RP creativity usually ends up with people crying about it. ( Please see reason 1)
    4. No more rules, you can't be serious to propose more, we have too many as it is, none of which are needed or followed to begin with.

    such discussions always have the same structure
    someone has an incredible idea and to make it work we need rules
    ... and once rules are being presented and 100 different opinions were posted (right between the flames and accusations) I start reading such threads after successfully ignoring the topic for at least one week, just to notice that the proposed changes violate existing rules and roleplay, with the result that even more rules are being proposed, to make everything half way compatible with each other up to the point that nobody understands the original idea any longer.
