And besides, the only time you can shoot BT when he's AFK is ether.
if your a cop, or are a Mercenary and he has a bounty.

we dont, once the tax has been paid the target is protected being taxxed again from the same pirate. But there is no protection to a player who paid and will be indestructible from the attacker... If you mean that with protection.

Is this how the whole story happened?

• BT asked tax, got paid it and then killed Veki
• Veki decided kill BT and killed him when he was afk
• BT with support vent hunt veki and killing started

Hi MF. I can answer part of what happened. veki2 and 2 mates were doing missions in X3043. BT jumped in and Taxed veki. veki paid tax and BT must have missed the message and Blew veki up. After that BT was just sitting by the Docking ring and after about 5 mins veki blew tulip up. I know nothing about the system to system killing. All said and done though what I saw seemed like BT missed the message that sayes Tax was paid..

to me it sounds like "two ships got destroyed"

I think BT must have missed the message, think he's to experiment to do something stupid like that, BT would know the rules.
But vek, shooting him when he's just siting in space, (most likely AFK) is out of line.
If you don't have the right license at the right time.

it is actually very easy and please do not take my view as personal attack against you. You was killed by pirate after you paid a tax and this was not ok with server rules .. clear and easy situation which was for GRs to solve by talking/warning pirate about check system messages before open fire. This given pirate is quite experienced, so there is not issue that he will be in disadvantage doing so (wait a bit). It could be easily possible ask him for money compensation for you as he is very healthy player. Shit happens, it can have more reasons why it happened, but it still was at that moment simple/isolated situation. All what was needed was ask here on forum without taking any own action.

With your further personal offensive action, attack out-of-role-play on player which was afk, you started a mess where given pirate got "all rights" to start out-of-role-play "war" and go chase you, and kill you as many times as he want. You pulled out initial advantage from server police (GRs) hands, makes theirs position worse, and bring more problems for yourself as you was able to handle. You can admit that it is not fair that experienced player can so easily and without consequences break server rules, but first part about breaking rules is not possible avoid in any MP game. GRs exist here to assure that situation not escalate, happens rarely and take care about consequences. It was said already, breaking server rules by yourself to get "revenge" is not a way which is recommended. It's for you to decide if you want to use this advice or not.

The way I see it both sides violated the rules.
You are free to decide now if I punish both or if we simply forget this incident and start playing the game again.

Veki2 Best to forget this happened and carry on. Mistakes happen and so do errors of judgement. If it happens again Report on here straight away with a screenshot as proof. If you are being chased from system to system then look to see if a GR is online and tell them what is happening. If no GR is online best thing to do is go to a base, dock and then report on here what is happening. Other option is to look for player with police license and let them know that a pesky pirate is after you. The police player then can act out there RP and chase pirate.

Veki2. What posting in here has done this time is made us GRs keep an eye on him for this type of thing happening again. As I said if it happens again make sure you have screenshots of being killed in each system and post them. If that type of behaviour is proven by screenshots action will be swift and harsh. But please do not take action yourself. DP clan are always happy to help new players out so get hold of one of us as well. Having an extra player with experence with you and can advise what to do in that situation is a real help. I dont want to see you and your friends give up on this awsome mod and I also dont want to see you guys chased and harrassed as that will really drive you away. Get in contact with me the next time you see me in game and I can help you guys out a bit.

With THEIR game play is such problem, that you and your friends simply can not play it, for sure not now and for sure not in short time from now. You do not have skills/experience for this, and even more important you do not have mind set for this. They love constant PvP fight, they know mod perfectly. Server rules are here exactly for protect common server player against very skilled PvPers. They allow for common player do/enjoy PvP mostly only in time when want ... if you like, you can, server offers enough occasions for this, if you do not like, you can stay out of PvP most of time. Atm you are not enough skilled, but you can be smarter ... going play THEIR game is not smart. Not mentioning a simple fact that in moment when you get your mind set for such play style, you very likely will lose majority of things which will make you fun play CF.

i think the subject has been flogged enough, a matter raised and good advice given. but it,s time to move on. the mod has many choices you can make to play. the idea is to explore the many systems and bases, gaining experience and bettering your char as you go. weapons/ships and equipment.but if you decide to jump in the fire without understanding how it all works ofc your going to have an unhappy outcome. REMEMBER IT,S ONLY A GAME. AND A BLOODY GOOD MOD IS CROSSFIRE. many of the players are always happy to help, just ask and more important, listen.
