  • Ok i need an assist now, some advice. Im up to the Nephele Research Mission with the mission crate in the wrecked ship and when i trigger it 2 corsairs ships attack the problem is i cannot survive even a handfull of seconds against thier weapons. literally 4 seconds and im dead though my shields through my hull i literally have to just press my shield battery button repeatedly then i run out. 30s of fighting im dead thier still full hp across the board

Im in a Series R Borderworld VHF with Hornviper Mk I's + a hornviper turret a starkiller torp launcher and a class 8 gravitron shield

Hit for hit I just cannot survive thier gun strength and im at a total loss as to what strat i could use to counter it. I even tried sniping them from inside the wrecked ship but even in the second or 2 we exchange fire my shields were wiped entirely into hull damage and i barely take 1k off thiers. Any suggestions?

  • lower difficulty in settings ... these npcs can be rly hard if you previously did not equipped your ship properly (like get some codenames from wrecks, or take lvl 10 shield during vanilla camp.) and I think there is more as only 1 attack in this mission.

  • These always were extremly hard to fight in CF... and originally they were part of the Dynamic universe concept. They used to invade sirius from time to time. (we will re-introduce this soon)

Really looking forward to that, as I came too late to experience these raids by myself...

  • plans regarding this are currently on ice

recently we had some problems with server crashes and first have to find out where they come from

  • Yesterday i managed to finish the whole Singleplayer mode. In overall a worthy successor to the Vanilla Game. Even though Microsoft has given no official modding tools (Let's just say bethesda spoiled me with their official modding tools), you guys managed to pull off to get the best out of an old game. No Source code, no official modding tools, what a pain. :D (Makes me wonder what tools you guys use to create new System maps, change the existing ones, make these missions etc.)

Now, lemme give some thoughts i had while playing, postive and negative:

+Huge Universe to explore (Not that i needed to since i first played multiplayer and then SP but yeah :D)
+Not that i need to mention it but the graphics speak for itself
    +No Vanilla stuff got deleted
+A huge collection of Ships and Equipment
    +Music: Felt satisfying
+The missions had the same or even more action than vanilla
+The fact that the coalition (plus almost all SL Ships) is in the game is a big plus since i am a huge starlancer fan
+Very Straightforward, no plot seeking, you can engage the missions always unlike the vanilla ones
+Big plus: The voice of Juni, King etc. were used again when it made sense (C'mon Trent let's go!)
+The story felt complete, from beginning to the end
+Voices (could get a better microphone) at least good for non-commercial standards, felt satisfying since every dialogue is written down and spoken, felt comprehensive, could be maybe a bit more extensive
+ SPOILER! The ending was the icing on the cake, with Orillion and the Osiris sacrifice the enemies were beaten.

-The mission descriptions are a bit too simply (Example: "Reward: Money..." Someone uses dots too much but thats just a detail)
-I don't like the ship design of the Warrior, Sentinel, Dom'Nepesh etc. etc. Pure eye cancer. I don't wanna go back to the Inner Core, it makes my eyes bleeding just because of this.
-Long, unnecessary travel time with nothing happening (Example: Altair, the mission where you first see the hypergate of Kavash)
-Missions are prone to bugs (Sol, escorting the trade ships was a pain because sometimes one of them didnt dock correctly, etc.)

  • (Makes me wonder what tools you guys use to create new System maps, change the existing ones, make these missions etc.)

As a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. player who dabbles in modding I confirm that.

"Across the savage skies and through the fissures in the fields,
The rumble of the engines and the trundle of the wheels,
Through hell and horror trudge and yet their spirits never yield.
Will they sing of these forsaken pawns of war?"
-Miracle Of Sound, "Pawns of War".

  • I think this has been mentioned a lot of times before but the fact that the IC alien ships spawn 50 meters in front of your nose while you are cruising is a pain. is it because their motherships are so big or is it because they are custom?

  • spawn distance for all ships is the same
size of course let large ships appear closer

  • i just finished 2.0 SP the second time. once again it was fun and awesome. the music in the final battles made me goose bumps ... albeit demands on my graphics were more than it was able to provide. what concerns the long journeys, i enjoyed them. i finished 2 books in between  2 times i lost the triggers and had to repeat the missions. at least once it was definetly my fault since i chose (from habit) another route instead of following the given way points. the second time, dunno what went wrong, the final command didn't appear (Dock at Venn Gate). nvm, i repeated the final battle again and got more goose bumps 8o in the end i had 250 mill credits. now i have to think what to buy with that.

well, somewhere here in this forum i already mentioned my thankfulness for dev-teams work. anyway, here it is again: thank u all for ur great work

  • Thank you so Much for making this Beautiful Mod!!! I'm a first timer to Freelancer and You have blown me away! This game is the best Space sim Out. Period. The atmosphere this game gives you is amazing and you made it even better! Best Mod ever Made for this game.

  • Speaking about CF 2.0, I love it. But on the last mission, Mission 10, I continue to get a Mission fail message stating that I did hot leave the combat. I try to fly to the coordinates that the Kavash gave me but within 30 seconds of cruising to those coordinates, I get the MIssion Fail message and have to reload from a saved file. What am I doing wrong or what am I not doing right? Thanks in advance.
