You will miss alot new nice graphics and tougher AI ... vanilla in cf is much more challenging. Except this is very fast coming 2.0, just now is imo very good idea wait with cf campaign for 2.0 release (it repair some bugs also in vanilla and some probs in 1.9 campaign missions as well).

Sp save - is needed mission save for last vanilla campaign mission start (cf campaign is done as expansion to last vanilla mission). you will start cf addon by replay last vanilla and once you dock on Manhattan, cf campaign starts automatically.

You can complete the campaign in one sitting (6-8 hours) if you know what you're doing. I'll see if I can dig up some old save files from my old laptop. If not, you're on your own then

which cheating is not?

i ask myself why ppl always want to cheat
there are more than enough possibilities to make money in CF

... not count simple fact that for most of vanilla pauses player need only sell pods which he got in previous mission. (and for one very early on start is enough to do 2-3 trade runs with Rhino )

Well, one detail: hostile NPCs in New York lack cruise disruptors unless you have angered Rheinland Military. So you can always run away and thus escape any unwanted contacts while trading in METAL BAWKS (though it isn't always good decision, as you can't use afterburner while charging cruise engines).

Did you find anything interesting in Altair sector ?

boring or not... its an important part of the storyline

I thought that the long times required to traverse some of those areas was--although not exciting, and maybe tedious to some--still very good for giving the player a feel for the really long distances involved...something that can be forgotten when just moving through the lanes and gates of the Sirius Sector.

The balance between some of the long, pretty uneventful trips, and the areas where waves of powerful, relentless aliens are trying to vaporize you is a good thing, actually. The feeling that if you have to run, it may be a long time--if ever--before you find a place to hide or way to escape, is suspenseful, too.
