  • I little updated previous post with info how it is NOW (not final setting)

+ fine/tax is paid only when police/pirate kill his target or are meet other above mentioned conditions.

  • Looks the tax/fine system works as intended, no more "other-player-kill-I-got-fine/tax" :)
... and the rest is question of "settings"

  • OK it was a misunderstanding from me that players remain taxed/fined when they leave the system. I will change that behaviour so a player has a chance to escape. The pirate or officer then has to retry later. In that regard we will lower the cooldown timer to 1 hour - so players can faster interact with each other again.

Need some time to alter the feature, for now it works better than before. Hope you can for now live how it is. Updates will follow for sure!

  • the player of course will get the chance to escape the situation in future
it is intended to allow players to escape to another system... kill the pirate/cop... or pay the tax/fine

  • Since this post is open to discussions about CF 2.0 RP, I have a few questions. I posted the same post in General Roleplay but it seems that waiting too long for approval.

I am in great confusion on clans belonging to one of the groups ASF or CSF. About freelancers is clear, they can change the licenses as they wish.
However, there may be the situation where one member of the clan has a ASF or CSF lic and other members of the clan have only clan license .In this case what should I do, a pirate with CSF license? Should I engage in combat only with that ASF and with other clanmembers going to drink a beer in the bar? It would be good to each clan began to express clearly belonging to the groups. And if it is expressed, then all members should have mounted such license on all chars. Or, if the clan does not want to join the ASF / CSF RP, then make it known to all.ASF/CSF interaction is great , seen as a way to even the playing field between players in alliances that control space areas or systems or fields that could be mined for valuable minerals, or somethng like that. Scenarios and possibilities are endless and offer great potential game.So much time is spend in the game moving stuff around or staring at empty space waiting for something to happen, that it is clearly not worth for a character with pirate license mounted.Flying around empty space, or mindlessly NPC killing for credits to cover pvp costs can be a variant of spending time playing. There are always low level characters that can not be charged or several police officers who, from time to time, defending the law in some corners of universe .The playability of ASF/CSF RP sounds good, but are not reflective of the overall game. I admit, I prefer NPCing or make a million of missions instead of long boring trade missions but I think that's not the image of the game RP.

Or somehow I got it wrong on these words and then my mistake:

"The conquest system has big conflict potential if clans decide to play that way. It can work perfectly with the normal roleplay but players also could decide to create conflicts out of roleplay if it serves the clan and if the are willing to risk wars.
Clans could form allies if they wish and secure large territories together, they also could try to do everything alone or even sneak into other clans territory when they dont notice it.There are countless of options, none of them is wrong or right."

  • i for myself would say, if a clan decides for either ASF or CSF that the clanmembers are not obliged to mount the specific lic. on all their chars. but each member should have at least 1 char with ASFor CSF license.

  • im not intending to discuss anything about asf/csf since in my eyes this kind of RP failed in the past years

focus will be on regular roleplay... when that is running and working as intended we can think about other types of RP or decide to drop asf vs csf complete

  • @Soul Eater
The "conquest system" is somehting purely and only clan related, as it is intended to work in conjunction with bases, which only clans can build ( Crossfire 2.0 Clanbases + Conquest System ).

ASF/CSF was - as far as I know its ... history - a "mainly" clan based RP, as a kind of "supra-clan"-clan. But that "eroded" in the last couple of years somewhat as well as clan life at all (due to ... player drain [?]).
But I wouldn't want o write ASF/CSF RP completly off. With the ease of obtaining such a license now even for freelancers without RP license or clanmembership it might act as an ... introduction (?) to clanmembership as means of playing something alike a clan war, working/fighting for a common purpose (smashing the other side :D ).

And about that licensing for clanmembers : I think that's purely a decision each clan has to make for itself, what licenses their members might carry or carry not additional to the clans general RP.

(Before you ask Soul : I will start to equip my ... more suitable chars with a ... dunno yet ASF/CSF license :D )

  • just saying: once you have equipped asf or csf then expect to be attacked from opposite party anytime/anywhere and ofc see opposite 'marked' pilot as a potential target. Using this simple formula as 'default' can avoid all troubles and offer additional fun ... just like asf or csf npcs do in X.

  • preventively taxing becomes habit. i don't like it. i know u have other priorities. but RP sometimes is not very funny. some things should change.
    1. a pirate should not be able to tax a merc, if he has a bounty on his head. same with police.
    2. and 3 cops fining 1 player at the same time should not be possible too. same with pirates.

  • And what happens in the situation where the trader has paid for an escort, gets tagged by a pirate/cop, and the escort kills the pirate/cop? Will FLHook still make the escaping trader pay the tax/bounty? It would be easy enough if the trader character kills the pirate/cop, using the normal PvP triggers, but a third-party kill would surely need some additional coding. Also, what use is the cloak then, if not to help evade threats to shipping? If I have spent >$120 million (and hours of acquisition time) on a cloak, and am able to use it to survive or evade attacks, why should that not be good RP? The burden should not always be on the trader to hire help; if pirates/cops want to assure a collection, they can band together or hire their own help, instead of getting a free pass by merely getting within range for a few seconds.

I can agree with Dene, but i am sure everything will be solved with vice versa option, so taxer or finer who die in pvp will pay regular dieing amount or even more serious scenario, they will pay same amount which he previously demand through console command fine/tax!
    Sounds interesting, right?
I see comments and discussion about similar scenario-killing pirate and/or police... and that this can be possible in the future...which i like and which also sounds very interesting and RP realistic. I like new RP-console options on the paper. (didn't tried them yet  )
Let's see what they will bring in the game "reality".
    Long live RP!

Hmmm, that would mean a pirate or police officer is forbidden his roleplay as long as he has a bounty on his head.
    Not good.
But what about an increase of bounties ? Tax/fine is capped atm at 20 000 000. Increase the allowed bounty up to level 59 to 10 000 000 and from level 60 to 20 000 000 ? That could even the odds a bit on "counter-tax/fine" against mercs.

Agree with you, if possible, there should be a "lock" on a fined/taxed player, not to be able to be fined/taxed from another player, at least until the first fine/tax case is closed... in whatever way.

I think he didn't mean that, he was against 3 to 1 during taxing but i can't see why police force can not use their strength in numbers? ;)
