Hi
Can anyone tell me about the Cloaking Device which I believe is in 1.9,I see it as a command in flhook but how to use it,do I buy one on a planet/station
or do I use flhook to access it? Seems like a brilliant idea cant wait to try it.

The device itself can be used vial flhook command /cloak /uncloak once you have it on your vessel.
In multiplayer you need to gather certain components and being in a good situated financial position, in order to have any dockable station outfitting your vessel with such device.sidenote: The cloaking device is nothing you can buy/sell mount/unmount. Once you have it on your vessel its there until you trade it into another one. Then you will have the process starting again.

in my opinion this is a real shame and a bit exaggerated. u spend 270mil for some equipment which is bound to your current ship and is worthless when u decide to buy another vessel. maybe u the swat-team (especially OP) can make the device to some sort of un-/mountable equipment cos it is very expensive to simply throw it away and waste your money

I guess you would already have time enough to check all ships and stuff and be stable on 1 fighter/ship on at least a char before you have over 300 mills in your hands for playing with.
This is only bad for the people who keep changing ships, but they can always have more chars !

well u cant know any ships now in 1.9 cos the whole flight situation changed now. and i tried many :wacko:
for example the persephone (which was one of the best) is now a case for the junkyard... many ships are now way too slow, so the question is: which fighter fits now to me, which is good and which is bad? u cant tell that anymore. the Saber was one of my favs but now its crap too.

Can I please have a spoiler telling me where to actually get the device?
My internet is not working right now, so I am playing SIngleplayer, but it got stuck at the part where...
I'm rich in Singleplayer and am simply traveling around trying to find it, but I sacrificed speed for docking at some stations with the Liberty Dreadnaught so I'm afraid I might have already gone past it.

Because you will just get it by hookand that is not active playing SP. Besides of that you would not be able to uncloak your ship and that has really no use.
If you would think about cheating your way to a device. You wont see it then anymore... -

Hope this is where I put this.
I bought one part of the Cloaking Device today from Dom Kavash space, but everytime I un-docked I got a yellow and then red lag show up and was kicked each time. I re-started freelancer from the beginning each time but still had the same. I have since sold the item for now but wanted to let OP and team know.
I will wait to buy later.

ok, thx. But the there is nothing that could have something to do with a cloaking device part in cargo hold when you undock. More likely its the anticheat as far it is activated

@lavmac: have you running torrent or any download sw in background? ... if yes, switch them off.
..have you active only cf mod?
..you are kicked with this only char?and for solving your trouble please try use Ticketsystem for report (is in menu tools)

as for the first question. No I never have anything downloading or other mods on at the same time and being on line playing CF.
This was the first time buying Cloaking Devices. -
I was trying to get the third part of the cloaking device but have no more licences slots on my Nike ship do I need a diiferent ship

no you dont; just unmount one of your other parts. but be aware: the device will only form up while having all 3 parts unmounted in the cargo hold. if you do so the device will get attached to your current ship, so its nothing you can mount/unmount. it also only exist on this ship afaik it will be deleted if you buy another vessel
