Tehnical problems or not?RP/PvP issues and some other things...

  • 1.Server issue or not?
More than 2 h with 30+ ppl on line will result with yellow/red lag or/and one or two server crash in a row(and ppl will leave the game=10-15 ppl will stay which means relatively stability of server)

    2. PvP and RP dueling issues
Most of the time is almost impossible to fight, Missile do not track and even disruptors miss the target. While flying toward some players during fight my ship become a snail.I think that we need clarification of this problem, cos i catch my slf in naming few ppl and accusing them for......(u know what i mean) and i am not the only one^ ^.So we need clarification of this problem, not the miracle solution, just clarification of possible causes and we need this ASAP)
    thx

    3. PvP and RP and earning money balance issues
    Hardcore Gamers:
Daily trading//mining shouldn't consume more than 1 h, and for Role Play/Pvp/exploring/events 2-3 hours=3-4h (ofc if u have 3-4h of free time to play CF every day ^ ^)

    4. Catastrophic Role play behavior
Both sides pirates and police, mercenaries follow this behavior.Ofc our newcomers follows our example^ ^This must be stopped!
People do not pay taxes, police cannot fine u, only mercenary job running somehow, cos u cannot avoid to be hunted for bounty that easy(i must say thx to PX no matter sometimes i disagree with their RP but this is another story).

    Possible Solution;
Minimum 2 witnesses and screen with time of leaving/departing/running from game-role play.

    1st time
    will result in warning.

    2nd time
GR will confiscate triple amount of money-For example: tax was 3 mill u will gona pay 9mill GR fine. .Same rules apply for cops fining. However police and pirates can decide what to do, to kill you, or to force you to drop the cargo, to try to tax you or fine you.
For mercs if u leave the game/depart from RP-bounty (in the same system) and u have bounty on ur head GR will fine u triple amount of bounty!

    3rd time
    1day ban

    greets and thx

  • taxes i dont pay just kill me and get the 10000

i worked hard for my money

as a freelancer i dont have a clan to fall back on for infomation regarding maps ,trading ,wrecks, etc

    i get that by exploring

so if you tax me i dont pay, as i said try to kill me and get 10000

  • 1. thats bullshit
the server did run for 15 hours without crash and several times getting close to 30
not even a vanilla server runs as stable as CF

    2. i can not confirm that
server monitoring shows no problem and whenever i take a look at the server it runs smooth
ive been watching serverl pvp vids from the server these days and didnt notice even the slightes sign of problem

    3. mining, trading, exploring... making money... that is what should happen the majority of the time because that is what pushes roleplay
pvp/fights happens as result of it
face it - most ppl are just sitting around to spend their time stirring up troubles instead of playing the game like it is supposed to be
weird time calculations of how it should be are nonsense as every player has other priorities

    4. agreed that something does not run well with RP atm
because ppl can not decide to stick with their roleplay
but to punish ppl because they decide not to pay is purely against the idea of the rp, afterall the players ahve the right to decide if they pay or fight their way out
next to that it is not the GRs job to enforce RP, it is their job to initiate and moderate it (you can compare that to the moderators job here on the forum, maybe you will notice that your suggestion has similarities to recent events that we probably should avoid on the server)

IF ppl rely on cheap ways to prevent roleplay maybe the kill fine should be raised to an amount that hurts
however... since the previous countless times when i said that i am not up for more RP discussions have no meaning to you.... i say it one final time
My time is very limited... I am actually not interested in any RP troubles you experience due to the simple fact that these troubles are caused by you players (thats clearly a general statement). I have done my job... I have provided EVERYTHING neccessary so you can play and do successful roleplay on the server. Players which do their best to avoid roleplay and search for countless excuses should not be surprised when the roleplay breaks together.
It is not my job to go to the server and do that RP or keep it running... it is just alone the job of you players.

  • over the years of playing these mods and reading the forums i also will not pay for the exact reason at the bottom of op,s post. i know that if i enter any clan systems i suffer the consequences and fair enough but does that stop me from exploring etc no and that goes for taxes yes i respect the r/p with out question but to stop asnd let the pilot take my hard earned cash no my ping is lousy so i don,t do pvp, but they want money the can finish the r/p and work to get it out of me yes i fight back the best i can. and another thing pilots will do anything to survive dock run hide etc remembering most of all IT IS A GAME supposed to be for fun , i think some forget that at times. back to space :thumbup::thumbup:

  • Ok i just tried to bring some expressions from game.
Ppl have no guts to post or whatever, but they complain about things which i described above all the time at server and at forum. And this is reality, i didn't have a bad dream (now i will have nightmare after reading this replies...hopefully will be better next morning)

If u guys think everything is ok, then great  .
OP thanks, u saved my time and paper work... greatly appreciated.

...went in bed as hypnotized...everything is ok...everything is ok...everything is ok...

  • Bond: I will agree with you that when in PVP with specific players, my ship slows down dramatically. But what am I to do about it? *******s are *******s and you can't change them.

Honor is the word here, or lack-thereof. Very little honor exists with players on CF anymore, I just got used to it. Just don't lower yourself to their level. Yes trading sucks, unless you own a capship and can dock anywhere at anytime ( literally), but I have a few routes that I will show you in game on certain days, where we can make some loot.

  • Tax/fine personal view:

Trying to tax or fine a pilot not carrying anything in cargo will surely not be successfull, compared as holding a 10M (or more) worth chargement.
The more there is to lose, the higher chances to get a "trade agreement".

Ex: I will surely not give out a tax higher than 100,000 credits if that is all I have to lose by fighting (that is just logic).

That is the "Art" of fining/taxing to me.... finding the right "prey", and adjust the requested money amount according to held cargo value,
to increase changes to be paid ;)
(also... charging 100% of cargo value will not lead to anything, as the targeted pilot will also lose everything - he may as well die since
it will be same result for him, and you will earn nothing)

(so when I see pilots automatically charging for maximum money I wonder if they are very successfull in the long term)

    This is pure economics!

    Just my thoughts anyway...

  • Second Faaby post.

If is not in VHF cargo something "valuable" or some special conditions are meet :D, or is "offer" not economical, then is only logical that ppl will not pay. IMHO fine/tax money source does not have chance to been a main source of money income for majority of players. From my experience is, that for police RP I need have money backups before I want to do some police job (ppl not like pay to police, wonder why :D) ... but this is not complain in any way! I not expect become rich by this :P

... and my one small note about missiles tracking: I little wonder why ppl still complain about this ... If you want really funny fights, then try use guns only. It is not so easy kill someone without missiles. (it is also cheaper ;)) .... IMHO will be fights in CF much more funny without missiles (it is IMHO so pls no flame, I not want propose this as change).

  • I really dont know the problem about paying fines or taxes. If I am receiving hails I often pay those fees because its easier for me to earn my money back and the good part of it is that i have not cut off someone elses RP. Paying taxes or fines is fully independent from cargo holds. You are asking often why should i pay tax if i dont have anything to loose - let me request - why not?

The game is more fun for all if such really easy parts of the roleplay could be fulfilled.

  • I have a simple tax policy - if i'm in a trader character, pay up. If i'm in a fighter - we fight, and if i lose (only 1 match is involved), i pay tax.

though i can't remember the last time i payed a fine, usually i'm just blasted off the skies by a cop swarm...

Although nothing forces you to do so, that is nice of you Shockwave.

I have a question though: is this something you do automatically even if the opponent would not agree to do the same?

From my experience, it is very rare to have any time at all to discuss about possible engagement rules...
It is usually more like: "Pay within 3 seconds or die"

I am thinking your way may be fair, and may personally adopt to do the same (unless respawn area is light years away LOL),
also provided I can still afford it after a few "deaths" (10M times "X" kills is getting a lot) hehe :)

  • i agree there to faaby. they usually give you no time to reply before they start killing you and i have been jumped three times and right in the middle of a mission with npc.s all over me, and they slip in quick. like there is no time at all to reply. some pilots attitude too some have asked with a bit of humor and yes i,m glad to pay and most of all i respect it,s roleplay fair enough. my ping as i have said is crap but they start shooting i return fire knowing i,m beaten but i will not just give it freely. they say in the mission side of it you should have said something helllo what they can,t see the swarm all over you shooting come on give me a brake. but it will not spoil the game. i just put it down to experience and move on :huh:

  • I would add my 2 cents....but it's never gonna change ....lol, guess that's my 2 cents used up

PS...dont be surprised and cry when a pirate asks for tax (he knows he's not gonna get) and opens fire

Totally agree. Just kill them 10 times if you are lv 50 and above.

  • I have no problem paying tax - pie rat has got to make a living, but to make it more interesting, I prefer to fight first. I get beat - I pay tax, I beat pie rat - I keep my money :D

  • I agree with you firedragon very good policy.

  • must have gotten all the 'nice' pirates till now, as we could always come to an agreement, and I paid the fine if I lost, except once ... recently .... not sure why ....but I think I re-spawned too far away...

  • I want to add my own observation to the Bond's 2nd point:

There is only one player on the server, who is able to avoid missiles from my missiles-only build indefinetely. I spent 150 Neme/Cata/Para and scored one hit on him in battle in X. Missiles weren't tracking that good afterall, but that isn't the best explanation, because I was able to shoot down 3 PX pilots in the MEANTIME of trying to kill him. Of course one may say, that he is just that good and knows how to evade, but still, I can't understand how can the same player be so poor at shooting. He was unable to take me down for the whole time I needed to shoot 25 missile volleys and 45 torpedoes. I was firing torpedoes only at him for about 5-7 mins and he killed me only because CD spamming made me rape myself with torpedo twice. Then he moved to Tarsus and engaged 2 DC pilots. I came over and fired another 100 Para/Cata/Neme at him with almost no effect. There was much less lag in that battle and I saw many times missiles tracking him and then, when expected to hit clear (when he was almost immobile, not taking a sharp turn) loose tracking and go in opposite direction. I have never seen such feat before and I tried to document it with FRAPS. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of recording pvps and the result was a 1-min slideshow (damn).

He is also using mines in pvp, what has very funny consequences: the only time my missile barrage hit him (in face, lucky random timing, never fire missiles in such way), he killed himself with a mine.

He also told me that he is so fast because of a trick only he and OP knows.

I will ignore this player and not engage him. In fact he isn't the best gunner around (like most "trinerapists") and I will just evade / F1 him, there is no sense of fighting him while he is almost totally missileproof.

  • He also told me that he is so fast because of a trick only he and OP knows.

Yeah, the trick is -> how to hack the game.

I've encountered several players who used aim and speed hack , but I won't point names, as it's pointless. I've heard that they use some kind of a program which cannot be detected , as it injects in the game's exe(or something like that).

And fight for 5-6 years in PvP and you'll know who cheats and who doesn't. You can't just prove it with videos or something like that.
