It's not because of you. The * Multiplayer is not Available[E5] " is because your game sometimes stays in the * Task Manager * , I mean ... still running even when you exit from your game. In this case, just use the Task Manager and remove it from the * Processes *.

ahh, thanks. I was worried for a second there
-
AHHHHH! 2 crashes in as many seconds!

Server crashing and crashing and crashing again, i agree with OP, smb do this with intentions (my paranoia since January '10)
-
i doubt it it's too often and too sudden to be caused by a player
-
Do the updates from the loader also have an effect on singleplayer? ive just been using single player with no probs, so could it possibly be something to do with some peoples internet connections and/or anti virus?

Hello all,
I think that I put the hand on a problem (may be...)
When server crash, 2 processes stay in task manager: cfwd.exe and Freenlancer.exe. (even you quit Crossfire buy clicking the 'Exit world of croosfire' button)
If you end the program (Freelancer) before it stops, the directory EXE2 always exists in the directory of installation of Freelancer.
I noticed that when I launch too fast the game, this one meets important slowings down.
I think that before relaunching CF each should follow this procedure:
- Leave CF.
- Wait for the end of processes Cfwd and Freelancer. (By the use of Task Manager)
- Verify that the directory EXE2 does not exist any more. (Delete it if it always exists)Now, you can launch Cossfire Mod Launcher.
I do not know if this approach is the best, but I try to bring a solution of the problem which rotted the life in of all this weekend.

the processes have nothing to do with it
-
the server is meanwhile running again on the latest known version that ran stable (savepoint 26th auguest)
the client patches also have been reverted to the max possible degree (going futher would seriously damage chars) -
I thought the same about exe.2 (yes this process slows PC) but As OP said...idk what happening server just crash again...
-
something that speaks against a error on the server is the fact that it was running perfect half the day
speaking for the "theory" that somebody is crashing it by purpose is the fact that we had a ddos attack against the portal yesterday
-
Hmm ..i see just after server restart few ppl online immediately ... can be prob in this that ppl not wait until is server back on-line? => they can restart all the time, but if it this before is server back? ... is this the same as if not restart game?
-
well im giving up for now myself i have faith that Op will figure out what all this is and i hope to be playing later on:D
-
Well if someone/thing tried to attack the portal then its fair to assume they're trying to crash the server
-
-
yeah pox they are only kittens until they are staring at you through there guns

It's their problem that they don't get the newest updates and that their characters gets the * cheater * message as they have the old updates. About damaging the server, I don't know.. I think it did back in 1.7.
-
nah I did it a couple of times before and neither the server nor me experienced any problems whatsoever
-
cant fix a problem that technically does not even exist
just like i said
its not the server -
ìf its attacked could it happen that the server part of crossfire is kicking all players due to massive load? Would be an imaginable reason for me...
