When I start single player every time I see the "an update is available for single player" notification. Is it normal? I see that every time about 43 files get downloaded.
Is it normal that the game updates every time I launch single player?

My understanding is that you do the update just once and that's it.
-
I imagine it should be like that, but in my case the update happens every time I want to start the game.
-
In my case I select "Single Player" from the Crossfire Launcher and then I'm asked do I want to update? Yes or No? I answer "No" because I have already updated previously by answered "Yes". I don't believe I need to do it again ……… however I may be wrong ……...
-
So you have the same option then? Maybe its normal in that case.

Yes. Or should I maybe say "same options" : Yes or No

Greetings, Dreamer1986,
files downloaded for SP (except first time, when it download patches) are mainly for dynamic economy which changes market prices in whole CF universe. You can skip these files if you want to do so, for play CF campaign (and singleplayer) they are not needed if you don't mind static market. One from latest additions to Crossfire are local changes to environment (mainly system X-3043), but these I'm not sure if are applied only for multiplayer (or also for open SP).
-
Thank you very much for the clarification . I'm happy nothing is wrong.
-
Thanks MF. Next time I'll wait for you to answer ……..

The daily updates are for the dynamic economy and also the dynamic universe. That are pretty small file so it shouldnt take long.

Oh! They are dynamic (assuming this means they are regularly updated, being a MP requirement). I've just logged in to MP (for the first time ever) and I noticed 54 files being uploaded to my setup. I wasn't asked (like in SP), it just did it. I'm assuming this happens every time you log-in to MP.
-
MP is automatically updated when you chose this option in launcher. Reason (one of) is that the server anticheat protection will kick/ban players automatically if they do not have the same files as they should have.

Good to know. Although I won't be rushing to MP. Looks too aggressive for me. I'm a real timid pilot. Leave the fighting to others.

While you dont get rich you are safe from RP or any combat in MP tho

what you do mate is get yourself into a neutral situation in all of sirius, different ways of doing it you need look up getting a neutral rep in wiki info, when set up you can trade up millions of credits no probs. All peacefully just stay out of Nomads way.
-
Oh, Also try not to cross paths with the frisky pirates which sometimes turn up.
-
Thanks Ringo. I've actually done that already. Its therefore a pleasure to tour in Sirius and also the coalition controlled systems in the Altair Sector.

Here's my current list of enemies in "the worst to the least order":
DOM'K
DOM'N
ANCIENT
DON'R
DOM'S
WARRIOR
The list is taken from my "Reputation" window.
Funny though …….. Nomads are not list …….. bad (which they are), neutral or friendly?

nomads can not be change - they are bad to all so far
I assume because they are "bad to all" they just don't get listed in my reputation file …….
