  • You know, there are these sad, sad people in Australia who play with 300 Ping.... (me :( )

AI can pull insane maneuvers that involves instant acceleration, deceleration, head on, and sometimes.... teleportation..... I cannot imagine what will happen to me in PvP....

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

  • hmmm, have no "deal" anymore with telekom. My dsl-provider's 1 & 1 (who "uses" the telekom hardware - as any other non-telekom provideras well in germany :P )

Wrote their support an e-mail last night with the IPs with loss mentioned.
On pingtest.net I have loss on every adress I click there ...even though "ping" and "jitter" there are good

  • i have bad ping always ... but i got used to it already ...

    1 thing i observed ... especially during pvp ...
the longer u involve in a pvp, the better it is the ping, loss and fluct ... i have no idea how it happens ...

example ... let say i pvp Soul/tulip in arena, first 4 or 5 pvps, i see them jumping like hell ... difficult to shoot
but after that, they are not jumping at all ... interesting though ...

  • @ Ori
.... interesting.... and are your this way "improved" ping/fluct/loss holds on ? ... also after char switch or even account switch ?
    ( hmm, 5 x pvp = 5x 150 k death penalties = 750 k ingame credits until pvp and therefor role-play to "normal" ... for me ) :P

  • if i sw or acc sw ... its back to jumping ... most of the time ...
if i watch others pvp too , this thing will happen... not necessarily i involve in the pvp ...

  • if i sw or acc sw ... its back to jumping ... most of the time ...

    ... sad :(

if i watch others pvp too , this thing will happen... not necessarily i involve in the pvp ...

... but this might also help :)

    however, thx for this input.

  • well, 1 & 1 didn't answer to my e-mail yet, ... but I mamaged (waited long enough) to get someone on the phone.

Ofc, he coudn't find anything wrong or bothering, as ping-time is ok (always was) and also my download speed is as intended (about 600 - 800 kb/s).

But - at least - he sent me a 'lil dos prompt script for analysis I shall run while being online ingame. It asks for a domain-name
    Question now :
What IS the domain-name I have to enter/the game is running on ?

  • I mainly does the same tracert, but also some information about network card and such.
For domain-name you can write: h2189798.stratoserver.net

Don't upload the dsl_analyzer_%date%.log file here as you will expose your unique mac-address and computername.
Edit: It takes a while to complete as it tests ip version 6 too

  • Ok, ...
I let this lil script run while being ingame.

(I changed my adresses and names, silverfox ;) )
Taking some ingame values as well.
    [xattach=5228][/xattach]

    ... and compared.
While the analyzer didn't registered any loss, I had loss of different values up to 19% 8|

However, the analyzer registered some .... quite long times for these few packets he sent (highlightened with §§§§§§§).
Any idea if these are responsible for the loss I have ? ... and something like pingtest.net might register AS packet loss ?

Any idea if these findings something worth to report back to the provider ?
Any idea if these findings mean anything at all ?

will redo with new script provided by Silverfox

  • Erm, not enough please delete upload. Your mac-address is showing :)

I'll "sanitize" that script and upload (and write what I did), later

    Edit:
    Sanitized script attached in .zip
    - removed all information about network cards (hostname and mac-address not revealed) using REMark command
    - removed all ip version 6 information using REMark command (unimportant info to CF)
    - added timestamp on log-file (original was appending per day -> scroll a lot)
