    1. i can not reproduce those errors... its working perfectly for me
    2. ive done tests with crysis on this matter... we have changed the storyline parts where the crash occoured... we even removed this part and replaced it with a "stay in space and do nothing" aswell as we removed all npcs at that point.... with the only result that it still crashed for crysis
    we came to the conclusion that it is crashing even before the cut scene plays... after a simply timer ends ... but between these 2 events is nothing that causes the crash

    It could be because of the saves , see... I did saved it before the undock from Osiris and every attempt to go through this mission was a total failure. I think the issues are in the saved games, because I've read somewhere that (I think from Forlon) he passed it by going through the mission from the very beginning(aka restarting the whole mission). Because if you try passing it through with the old save which is just before you undock from Osiris , I think it creates a conflict with every changed/added code to the mission and therefore it makes it crash.

  • Might be possible that problem is in some Liberty BS (or BSs) explosion effect? (this can explain ppls crash in Sol and Riebens crash in Walker suicide run).


    Op: something as liberty fighters destruction crashes when we first time tested beta. Is possible do test with switched off explosion effects?

    I have the same problem... I've done a clean install from an original FL disk, installed 1.9 and played from the 1st original mission all the way up to the Sol mission with out any problems ?.
    Once the carrier is destroyed the game crashes and I get the same Runtime message as above.
    This happens on Win 7 and XP (dual boot PC)
    Any ideas ?

  • Hi Huor... No just the runtime error as above.....


    But I've just retied it again from an earlier save game (the start of the Sol mission) and it played all the way through the mission and didn't crash. So I've got to the next mission. I'll let you know if there's any further problems.

    Same problem here. Seems the server shows up in the list (ping works as well) but refuses to establish any connection. (since yesterday around noon)
    Don't know if it was possible to connect yesterday evening, but if so, it could not have lasted long.

  • Just to say it, for me there is a reproducable crash when i came back from Menton. The plot takes you to New Berlin and leads you to Utopia via Stuttgart. Once a Tradelane is disrupted and i try to dock it again i get a CtD - it might be connected with the Tradelane Lights which are not 100% in Place after coming back from Altair.


    A Game restart is doing the trick.


    Server didn´t worked for me too yesterday.

  • I was playing in a group on1.9 and had respawned @ Earth, I could not buy bats or bots there, I undocked to go to anomilly Styx ,I was given mision without request, I went too the way point past it and was congratulated, I then got another mission way point anomily Styx arrived at way point and same again, I entered anomily and recived mission inside worm hole, on exit congrats and paid, I then docked in Gurm exited game and resarted seamed OK a while later sever crashed. I nor my group took on any missions at this time!

    i fixed this problem weeks ago and didnt have any further probs since that eventhough i was killing several hundred ships meanwhile

    yes will restart the server now
    i cant imagine that docking at a tradelane could cause a crash... probably just coincident
    at this point no mission trigger is active


    the shifted lights are result of different tradelane models being used in menton... there the hardpoints for the lights have a different locations and FL was designed to support just one type of tradelane and therefore thinks the first loaded hardpoints are the correct one
    if you would start your game in sirius and go to altair or inner core the tradelanes would also have lights at the wrong positions... it is something i simply cant change

    1. you probably had a ship that has by default no bots/bats
    2. mission was given to you because another group member accepted a mission and finished it somewhat later

  • Everyone should remember not to start missions while in a group, except if your grouped people are in the same system or really near to help you.
    Starting a mission while in a group, finishing or cancelling it affects everyone's reputation, also if people are too separated it can crash the server by calculating inexistent paths and other stuff.

  • ok giving you a slight update on the current situation


    1. the singleplayer crash with the strike carrier


    - i was not able to find an error in the script
    - disabling the cut scene did not lead to any better results
    - even removing the entire story after that destruction has lead to no changes
    - the previously stated assumption that the explosion itself is causing the problem is not true as we have tested it with a 50 second timer running right after the explosion (after that 50seconds are no explosions anymore and therefor it can not be the reason)
    - we also eliminated the possibility that NPCs could cause the crash at all by telling the script to remove all NPCs from the system


    There was the suggestion to load one of the official mission savegames instead of the autosave to bypass this error.
    I highly recomment testing this (as i cant reproduce the error on my PC) -> i know for sure that autosaves contain different information than mission generated savegames.
    Some feedback on this matter would be cool.


    2. ive meanwhile went down all the other reported bug reports on my list and fixed them
    ... except the explosion crash with walker (as i am not able to reproduce it atm) and the fact that some cap ship guns have no sound (which is a bug that i dont want to fix -> the fix causes more problems than it would be worth it)


    3. the server situation
    Well... Huor meanwhile fixed all bugs we experienced with Flhook so far and improved various features. (which does not mean that we consider it 100% bug free -> more tests will show if its working or not)
    We have currently stopped testing the FLhook as the server itself suddenly looses connection to the clients. The server remains up and running stable while the connection to the client pcs is cut and does not build up again. This is a major problem as since the server is up and running it will not even try to restart and establish a new connection.


    Reason for this problem is so far unknown but fixing it has highest priority.
    Unfortunately this is a random problem... it would be cool if we could say "this problem appears after one hour online time" because this would be a measurable time we could work with. But in our situation the connection make break down after 2 hours... or after 20 hours... or .... ... ...
    This makes testing something extremely hard.
    As already stated FLhook is not the problem and i doubt that the mod itself is the problem.
    It might be one of the new plugin, the lag reduction kit, the improved data compression or one of the many hacks done to the FLengine.


    Well... Right now i am putting together a list of all possible error sources and sort it by priority.
    We simply have to test through every bit of that until we find the reason for the probs.
    It might be that we find it with 1 or 2 test... it also might be that it takes longer. Most important is that we do systematical tests now and keep these tests running until we are sure that the server is running fine.


    When the connection breaks down again i of course need information about when it did happen.

  • i dont know if it helps.
    i reload the mission from hood ( forget the autosave).
    and when i was in the carrier mission on sol i only dock in osiris when it said 25 seconds left.
    the next mission where u have to kill the carrier, i killed first the nomads Batleships and left only the carrier as last to kill.
