  • My suggestion to CF 1.9 SP is simple: when you need to trade, you need a big ship with cargo space above 250...you go to ship dealer and buy it...you earned some money...and lvlup..go to a mission but in the mission you dont need such a ship, you need fighter..what you do? you sell a big ship and buy a fighter...then again and again..but why wold you do that? i think player need more than 1 ship. there should be somthg like your own starport:D with many ships on every planet you like to leave a ship)

  • Huor. in Singleplayer you can make more than 1 charakter available in the same game? 8| 8|

  • yes

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • and how do you transfer money, you traded on the one char, to the fighter on the other char?
I mean, you are by yourself in singleplayer, how can you transfer without a 2nd person ? you can't log into the second char, while being in the first, can you?

  • I think this is exactly what he meant :)
Making money with trading, to level up and then getting the proper fighter for other missions, and if you need more money for higher level, trading again (with the fighter???) so you gain the next level(s) according to your account balance. Then making the next missions (you could not access, cause of the necessary level you needed)
    get my point?

I think it was planned for CF1.9 to rebalance mission money prices a bit, so maybe leveling up
to have access to the next campaign mission will be made easier and a bit shorter without needing
to purshase different ships (I think vanilla campaign was fairly balanced regarding money amount
to level up - i.e: 5-10 missions successes)

  • Is everyone talking about the same topic ? Seems half are a bit lost :P

OP is right as there exist such "thing" for SP, with a load of other options... CF shouldn't be combined with something else, but if you're a Singleplayer gamer only(and if OP agrees O.o), maybe we could advertise such tools for SPers if they really see it difficult at some level or if they really want huge spoil(as you get much more than some usseful options as multi chars which you can save, like full admin/cheating powers for money, etc), as not many have the idea of searching such thing if they don't even think about that idea/option(so nothing to search). No other mod/program can be combined with CF for MP, obviously, but even better as such tool can't affect MP at all, so it can't be a risk of cheating.

Edited once, last by Michael ().

  • heh, but now people who need such options have a chance to google it instead of abandoning the storyline for being "too hard" or trying to mix CF files with another mod to make something easier.

  • Michael....

I do not think people are as ignorant in how to do this as you seem to suggest in your postings.

For the same of the game, I would also not suggest using any 'tool' to 'modify' files to 'shorten' the original storyline/game.

  • "What could be tried is to use an offline console - kinda offline hook for SP"
I do not understand, what i have to do ? I just dont want to sell my cargo ship every time when im going to mission..

  • Riebens, you're right, I just see the threads/posts of people having issues or abandoning the CF storyline due to too difficult NPC AI because the people who finish the storyline correctly have no reason to post it.

@BamBam, you got a lil PM

  • I started playing the SP campain again last night ....

It is seriously NOT difficult to shoot down the NPCs ...

Maybe it has something to do with the Graphics settings, the computer capabilities or a pebkac problem :D

    Kind regards

  • Mates. Is it so difficult to understand what he wants?

He makes missions, ok. Therefor he uses a fighter.
Then he wants to trade some times, in order to make money. So he gets a freighter to trade with.
Then he wants to make more missions, to go ahead in the storyline (?)
BUT he does NOT always want to trade his freighter into a fighter and back, everytime he wants to do something different.

All he is asking for a possibility to make a SECOND (trading/fighting) ship accessable while being in the SAME SP-game, WITHOUT having to trade the ships all the time.
One guy is fighting all the way through the missions and leveling up the shooting way (gaining money while doing missions)
Other guys want to trade in order to make cash (to level up)
whats to difficult to stay on topic and give useful answers?

    Possible answers:
yes - if so, HOW to make it possible for one and the SAME Singleplayer-game.
no - good no point in discussing this any further and being off topic anyway

  • With ANY version of Freelancer ONLY

    ANSWER = NO

My answer was related to the problem in the fact that I reported it is NOT NESESSARY to have to purchase a trader to level up.

(sometimes reading between the lines is not done ??)

    Kind Regards
