  • I think that we need to wait, and give a chance to new style of trading.Today's approach is something totally new and different then before, i think exactly what OP had on his minds.
    Personally i like to load full train of goodies, but on the other hand i know that i can adopt to a new style.
    OP don't be angry at Diablo, he is an old provocateur but he is still here in game after all-What is the benefit of it and how much damage, it is another question! ;)


    Big difference and benefit now u can find good route behind every corner( i can cos i have many chars), but the problem that really concerns me, are new players on the server with only one character.


    We'll see what will happen in the days to come.

  • Btw I made about 20 mil today with this new way of trading today.
    No multidocking, no cheating(ofc), only flying through Sirius and docking on profitable stations and planets.


    Sure I had more than 500 of one comodity in cargo, but I collected that along my way through many systems selling them at the last point of my run.
    (If this is considered an exploit too, then I totally misunderstood the new rules)


    For some time I even was chased by pirates, I think. If they had been more persistent and caught me, I surely would have payed tax (as I allways do btw).

  • The changes to the speed of money-making, if as drastic as this one, require a char wipe, so that everyone has the same conditions, especially if the change was to slow things down.
    We have too rich ppl who wouldnt need to trade until 2015 even if they pvp'd 300x each day.
    This way it's unfair towards the new players. They will have to put much more hard work to build their chars the same way as some of us.

    OP told he's finding the way to increase the limit on planets to 2000, and also there are teh great routes like yesterday to leeds... where you can get 160 mills/hour.


    You just have to find something good.... or ask others who're trading.



    And no char wipe anyways.... since last week(s) we have an invasion of new people.... who are now lvls 60,70 with help from others.... they won't start everything from 0 and neither some of those 'rich' people like Crysis(he's more, for sure) won't start again just cus a 'Diablo' feels too poor... where you also have fighters with 800 mill $. Or Geronimo, who has over 30 000 npc kills and 5-600 hour online... people worked for his stuff before too ;)


    So better help the newbs as most of us 'rich' man do.... instead of wanting to ruin it all.

    Your way to make all players equal is not less drastic, some ppl had spend lot of time to make those billions



    About this limit, well, i returned to play about week ago, traded with APC, after i saw good 'superroute' i bought train and after few runs i got shocked when player told me about ban so i sold train to not force myself to try my luck. What i want to say from this.. in 5 days with APC i managed to trade enought money to equip 3 fighters and i think what that 500 limit is only making game more balanced, more realistic as you cant became superrich very fast. In other hand this limit making trains not so usefull for that price what we pay to buy em. 60 milion for cargo ship which cant make big money is a bit too hight (one more weird thing is if you buy you pay 60mil. not liked this kind of trade you sell it and in return you get only 5 mil). So in my point of view train cost need to be reduced to 10-15 mil or remove cargo limit and make train cost lets say 300-400 mil so only already rich ppl can buy it and they wont use any exploit.


    All said is only my oppinion.

    True, we may have to put down a lot more work to get all the good stuff, but the basics of trading has never changed. I started making millions almost right off the boat, and back on FLU, we didn't have that luxury.
    Here you make a few mill, find a better freighter/transport, make some more mills, find even better freighters/transports, and the wheels on the bus go round and round..


    Just for comparison: on Freelancer Universe (a vanilla server with an optional addon mod that allowed for purchasing Armored Transports, Transports, Large Transports and all of the Capital ships), the trade runs were allways the good old vanilla ones, but the prices for each ship were multiple times higher. For example, the Large Transport had 1600 cargo, could not dock ANYWHERE, had no shields, handled like an aircraft carrier and cost about 75 mill. The best Armored Transport had 500 cargo, handled pretty much like the one here, had better guns, no shields, but some 37.000 hit points and cost 10 mill.. My favorite choice for the Cambridge/Beta run.
    Gunboats - 100 mill... Battleships - 500 mill... No docking for capships either. Oh, and we had to buy all of these directly from the Admins, 'cept for the AT's.
    See where I'm getting at?


    Even though times have changed here, I find it very easy to trade. And not to mention getting capships, as well as actually flying them.. :)


    In my opinion, all transports and capships could easily have been priced 10 times higher.

    I apologize in advance if the wrong topic, but does not seem to find it. The question is whether. Existense in Mod "bank" or console commands by which a player could transfer the money earned to another player?
    The problem is that the transfer of money is only possible in person, through trade, but what if the characters are on the same account?
    For example, I have 2 characters and one of them is engaged in trade for another.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    People who was around in 1.80 and 1.81 was the ones getting kicked, getting crashed, having corrupt chars, helped to name faults, wasn´t allowed to use their characters they made because of bugs, had to buy a CapShip again and again for a new shield, wasn´t able to undock, was stucked in stations, win and lost possibilities with ships, had to go to Altair several times for a new fighter because the old ones was reworked and experienced up to 5 crashes every 20 minutes, so they lost what they earned often enough. If you also will start to trade from January to September i am pretty sure everyone will become a Billionair soon - stock or not - ofc it would be nicer to make money faster especialy for those who do not have time all day long but it´s simply up to the creator to make his bet .


    At the moment i personaly am in fact excited because of the outcome of the stock whether it will make more ppl staying on a long term or not - whats with your complaining posts then if it will be this way - will you come here again to say hey, sry i am able to tax 5 players an hour now and earn all my money within RP, and it´s damn funny everytime i log in? Guess no, but now it´s working against the atmosphere in the forum where we realy would need a good one because we have more new players visiting this forum.


    Also, it would have been unfair if ppl would have special equipment which others can´t get and no chance to get your money for buying, equipping and maintaining your ship.


    Now you have a fine tuned Mod, a great stability, completly reworked Trade Routes, tons of new equipment and ships, unique stations, perfect infocards, the speech for the Stations, x new systems to explore and station or starspheres so nice that i somtimes stop to just have a look at them. And all of this is running, also because of those who was around when it was not...

    here are quite few, who suffered the problems of the beggining of 1.8 in passion for this great game, also giving support to improve it ! Most chosen to just 'wait' until the server gets stable and excuses, and now want everyone who made an effort to loose everything ? ;) make 600 hours online on your chars like some freelancer and we will see it then :P



    NOW a pirate have Reasons for going and taxing traders... and get 10 mills in 1 minute :D
    A copper to fine pirates, or smugglers, and get 5-10 mills for each successful :D Or make a hole in the pocket of 5 mills at both in fights :D (which is the fun part)
    And mercenaries to kill a target and get 1-several millions... and a frag stat :D



    I remember making about 200-300 Mills in fines in Sea Of Shadows in 1.7 with a kusary destroyer lol.... which got lvl 75 with fines... it was fun no train could run.

  • I personally think that encouraging interractions between players is to be favoured to no roleplay.


    Sharing responsabilities and actions (as opposing to be a one-man army) could be very productive, for example:


    If I were a pirate I would ask a smuggler buddy of mine to check his contacts and find me the best trade route of the day. Then I would ask him to accompany me in his train and I would ask for a big tax so that eventually somebody doesn't pay (or just waste him) then tipp of the smuggler. The smuggler would tractor the whole cargo and pay me 10-20% of the "brute profit" (which could be alot).


    The same day or the day after, the smuggler would check the trade routes and find the best one for the cargo of his char, go to that system and just wait in a cloud or nebulae clost to the base. He then could try to sell it to other people at half of the price (and who would not buy merchandise even for 1500-2000/unit profit if the base was right there, within 10k.


    what does the smuggler win? - doesn't have to dock 100000 times, unloads his cargo and make some profit
    what does the pirate win? - enhances rp and makes some money regardless of taxing
    what does the merchant win?- adrenaline rush, makes trading more interesting (can hire mercenaries to defend while he docks and undocks)
    what does everybody win?- alot of fun, RP and interraction between people...which is why we are here in the 1st place.


    I think that we could overcome all of the setbacks with a little immagination.

    Voila, in view a humble vaudevillian veteran...cast vicariously as both victim and villain, by the vicissitudes of fate...

    Again Crysis... and I am not so rich anyways , as I spent my money to lots of stuffs and planning to spent them for more too. If these new people want my help, I am willing to help them.

  • Well, it was hard for you to restart after OP's $ cut off at the begginings of CF, and you was really mad when your chars got corrupted once for those Ancient guns... you wouldn't if it happened again as char wipe ? ^^ That's all that matters...
