Clan Recruiting Discussion...

    Thought it might fit to the current situation.


    For quite some time there are a lot of new players on the server. I know it from the history that at a certain point there was a kinda blockade to recruit new players. Some clans recruited fresh from New York (what is not good!) - some don't recruit anyway.
    Currently i think there is this blockade again. A heap of new players on the server and no one seems to really recruit actively. DC, IOC, BG, CFPD, UR, FALLEN, SMG - all are clans that could need some new folks. PX and SA have done a good job - and actually you would apologize - but PX and SA are good established - so other clans need a bit of more support as those two.


    We had also a thread here about pro and contra of being a clan member. It is in everyones own decision to join or not, to have some interest or not. But be advised - you must not be perfect, know everything, have good skills. There is nothing to fear - at least to apply for a clan membership. Every new player brings new ideas, new knowledge, experience for something that could be used more or less. And if not than clans are perfect to learn more - team work, behaviour between other clans and players, mostly joy and many more.


    So @ the new folks here around - dare to ask for membership. Dare to ask anyway if you feel there are questions that needs an answer.
    @ the clans mentioned above: Dare to recruit and ask the new folks about joining.


    Finally - and this would need to be discussed in the leaders board - PX and SA could provide some tips how they are doing - what can be done to keep new players interested and getting them integrated into the clans.


    Its just my impression... You may now discuss it, ask questions what ever you want (except spam posts) - this is the right place for it!

    i intent to build up the clan again and train some pilots... it has been years since i did something like that last time

    good to read this OP, BG was the first clan where i thought to apply(very first week in CF), later SMG who help me much and was always friendly to me, then i make my decision to join SFP cos they help me 2 also the SFP was the first clan forum which i join (don't want to mention police role which i really like), and they accepted me later, yes i thought one week between PX and SFP, but this is History by now.

    Why not ask directly the players in what keeps them active in clans? Leaders might not directly know the possible answers as they may be varied...
    (start internal clan polls maybe?)
    Just a possible idea anyway (might not be that much helpfull if Leaders do already know ;) )

    "Tips" are simple when it comes about recruiting:"never by the rules and by any means">>>to simplify: F..k the clan agreements):D... but time are changed, as i can see now, requirement level is much lower then before, so we can recruit new m8s by the "rules" again :thumbup:



    And what will attract and later keep new m8s in a clans?


    1) Pro but relaxed approach from the recruit officer!
    2) Good starting money (amount depends of many things)
    3) Access to all clan's Data Bases!
    4) Work with new clan m8s, in a game as well at the forum in order to establish friendship-if possible ofc-(Interesting Missions created by the vets, Pvp tips, training, training, training, explaining of things-HOW TO/many variations in various situations...
    5) Experienced Clan players must be always open when it comes about helping new m8s, never selfish, never to much arrogant or to proud!
    6)...many more (i can not write about all)


    At the end Some kind of discipline must be established!


    So...i think that this can be a recipe for successfully organized clan.

    We never recruited that wildly, Bond, and I'm fairly certain SA-s didn't too - not a cool thing to generalize like that. Recruitment doesn't have to be instant - a player can be an initiate into a clan. We did that all the time, worked pretty good. If the user wants to join after he sees how things are in that RP and clan, tag him. :bglad:

    PX don't recruit, but keep their old members active... still they can't give the Main tip how they do that to everyone :P

    I have no idea, we don't do anything in particular. We like our clan, and the game, and how we work, so people are inspired to come back to the game. But, we do have our share of older inactive members, but they know they're always welcome back. :)

    Shock i like the way you-PX do the things, because this can show how dedicated you are in relation to your clan, same thing for SA, UR and others...I just stated about some long ago forgotten and unwritten times and"rules", didn't meant to hurt anybody's feelings! :bhey:


    I like to see CF like growing in both, clan members and freelancers :bcool:

    Theres no real secret around PX. First of all most of the players asked to join us. We were not asking in game if they wanna join PX. Anyone can see that in our forun.
    Second my clanmates are all awsome friends. Most of them for life.
    The real difference imo is that we have fun while playing, and that fun never ends and i congratz OP for all his hard work.

    Well i think the first thing i always look into is PASSION.


    I recruit ppl with a great passion for this game and ppl that like our RP and way of doing things (Read our Member Gudie if you want to know about it).


    Also i believe the friendly and very "familial" approach is great. I dont see any member as a member but i see them like friends, bros and sis (and gf for FAABY hehe :D)...


    Off course having money, databases and equipment is great but everyone has these, its nothing special.... The secret is hidden in the RP, the relations with everyone (members, leader(s)) and the potential to have fun with this clan.


    Also having clan projects (such as building an internal DB or establishing a secret operation or missions) will make your clan members feel they do a big difference for the clan, it will make them feel they are part of the universe ! ORION made great maps (amongst many other things), FORLON and FAABY work great on DB, ZEROTH owns fully explored char with which he can find trade routes for members in a minute. SEQAN is great to hang with (even more using TS recently !) due to his incredible sense of humor and he also does a very good RP. FRAISE made great movie soundtrack remixes to inspire the troops while playing the game (she made 26 songs in 2-3 weeks !) and with her skills at targeting. LOYAL is brining a very nice aspect to his character by playing a mechanical being (OE-254)....


    And finally, when i started the clan, i played the role of a lower ranking officer (Commander and Captain) and pretending a whole structure was above me. The reason was to keep close to the members i will be recruiting so i dont have a terrible advance in the ranks and also because i felt ppl would feel more friendly with their direct commanding officer than a super maxed Admiral, Supreme Commander or God of the clan.... Even now i'm not yet at the top of the SA ranks (even thought i am officially occupying the role of Chief Officer). May be one day i'll become Admiral if my clan mates figure what i'm waiting for. hehe :D


    I hope this gives a little hint about what is special in the SA !
