  • Just my Opinion: Train, Capship = slow docking sequence - see the sequences of docking NPCs. It´s much more realistic in that way now, and tbh. it fits FL much more than having a 100 Trillon tons Battlesship or 50 Trillion tons Train docking/undocking in a 1/10 second at a station which is sometimes smaller than the BS itself. The used word for it is to moor (just look at the wording please). Also having this undock where the train is turning away from the fixture is perfect for the Game feeling. In RP you will be also able to stop those CapShips easier when it can´t flee that fast.


    For realistic purposes i apprichiate the way how it is now, much more than the old one.

  • I agree with you DW when it comes about realism, also i like the train's docking procedure at the stations, but we talking about un-docking problems from mooring fixture.Sometimes u need to turn ur ship for 180 degree, and this is not all, first you must to move ur ship forward then to start with turning procedure, and bla bla, however you can always do the same by Y axes (as i do) ;)

    but to clarify this issue....
    i have allowed all train players to dock at 53 additional stations, giving (by calculation) a few thousand traderoutes (if i remember right about 4600 ones -> that was handled on a different thread)
    that many routes need to be balanced in order to prevent super traderoutes (or whatever you like to call them)
    one method to do that was to limit the number of goods to 500(which has been done)
    another method was to ensure that the 500 unit per item limit is hard to be exploited... so the docking is slow
    the docking is exactly as fast as the docking of NPC trains
    the docking happens exactly as for NPC trains
    the undocking also happens exactly as for NPC trains


    if you ever have watched NPCs then you would know that your trains finally act just like they do
    it is absolutely normal that if you dock at a station with the front of your ship... or even being more exactly you moor with the front of your ship... then you also have to go through this procedure in reverted order when undocking
    the ships do not fly into a hangar anymore
    they dock with a station directly

  • Umm, there are some issues with the hopefully 'temporal' rebalance of lvls now that even if you have 2 Bills $ you are lvl 40....


    Noone can get kileld in NY again (as the patch says the NY protection is taken out for above lvl 50)
    And also everybody is protected from RP, as they can't do RP ! Counting the rules says about the min lvl to participate in RPs...
    Noob protection works for everyone and we can also enter any clan systems... O.o

    Instead of having more lvls, like 91 for over 1500 M or 92 for over 1900 $, we have less :O

  • protection in ny is not active... not even for ppl below lvl 50
    and the rest is a balancing issue that will have to get done over the next few weeks

    No i never shared that feeling, because i never put my personal interests before higher goals-direct reason for my reaction, i just feel sickness when it comes about demagogue approach...and for personal attack u need to be a person not a devil! ;)

    We had a docking sequence from old FL which looked just how it was supposed to, but then OP changed it because in 1.8 BSs were getting stuck trying to undock, but the sequence affects all ships.
    Basically, for the sake of a few (battleship)players flying those big ugly things we all have to put up with the new prolonged, illogical undocking sequence, especially unpractical while undocking a train as it gets it's front facing the planet.

    wtf are you actually talking about?
    the docking for normal ships has not changed at all
    the only thing that has changes is the docking for capital ships and trains
    that that way of docking IS the logical way of docking

    Don't start about realism lol. Getting from 1 planet to another in a minute is realistic? Have you ever seen an episode of Star Trek? Takes them days...so ... ^^


    Since we're not getting any younger we need as hardcore as possible in as less time to spend as possible... that's realistic from my pov

  • yeah, guess i saw all except the DS9 Series.


    I remember 100s of Sequences where Ships docked stations or some of the enterprises leaving the docks. At least there wasn´t much scence where Ships touched the athmosphere (not because of the danger but because of Roddenberry not wanted to waste time with the animations instead of it he invented the beaming)

  • Yes, CROSSFIRE is now the most special game... as it has very high, high end graphics, but also compatible with very low cards and slow PCs... a thing which another NORMAL game don't do ;)


    This could be released officially as a new game :D wtf a game compatible with everything !!

    Did u ever ask ur slf why we need trains which can dock at stations, if u put the cargo limit of 500.
    OP this must be a joke or u was to tired or hopefully this is just temporary thingy in order to fine tune dynamic economy and "new" trading routes? :thumbup:

  • I think OP meant 500 varieties of commodities, not to decrease cargo in a train. That would make no sense, considering it would be more practical to buy an APC and fly normally, then to mess around in a slow train.

  • I have to agree with Bond here.
    I was trading again these last weeks and i even saw pirates taxing and trading next side of us. RP was again on, but this is... a stepback...
    Making money is not easy with this 500 cargo limit.
    Imagine newplayers trying to get 100 mil to buy a decent ship. whithout a decent ship players cannot survive and visit the beautifull systems of Inner core, they will leave server before reach that part.
    And i cant see any super route becouse most of the best routes are in BS and asteroid bases.
    Imo this is a end to trading. People will go to inner core and loot weapons, Its more profitable and quick.

  • No, he meant 500 items....from stations, you can only buy 500 items and they get depleted, and you have to slowly dock again to get 500 more, and more.... until you fill teh 5000 cargo of Soulforge or whatever... (from planets the limit is 2000 as he said, but I noticed it as 500 too, not sure if it's a bug or he gave up on this part).


    It really is a bad way with the current trade routes, but listening to his past explanations, it's a thing to avoid superroutes (or whatever people call them), but this also comes with the next resynchronization of the dynamic economy, which improves the situation a bit....

    Anyways, it is better to have to dock more times with a station than not docking at all... also a good moment to catch the traders on any illegal route, not only stations, but also planets :D



    EDIT: seeing the above new post made while I made this, I have to remember alien weps looting changed, as OP added a kind of chance randomizer, which can drop you a gun, or sometiems not, on BS and cruisers, they can drop 4 at once, or 1.... or none.



    Anyways the situation will improve with the new trade routes guys !
