    this thread is for new ideas and concepts. Here you can place your wishes and dreams how freelancer could be, what new stuff could be possible and so on.


    If its really possible to realize it is not important at the moment, but maybe some mod creators read this and they have an idea how your wishes can become reality.

  • Let´s start with my biggest wish :]


    A player related Trading System with economy Parts.


    Means Players needs to mine Ressources.
    Factories use the mining commodities to produce parts from Ships or special Equippments.
    Shipyards use the factories Output to build the Ships.


    When for example Tarsus Shipyards are the only Shipyard which is able to produce a Shroud, where it belongs to Bretonia technology you would need to build Factories on the planets surface, or another Planet (another Planet would be better for RP) which needs for example Shiphull Parts, Oxygen, Crap Metall,Byrillium and Gold (as Bretonian Mining Source - or just a new noble metal from Bretonia). From the correct amount of collected Ressources and produced Factory Output, all Parts of a Shroud would be their and the Sipyard could produce it. Same for all the other Houses of course.


    Except mining which should be unlimited. The sold commodities should have a system based on supply and demand in the background. If i buy for example Shiphull Panels and deliver it to a shipyard in a train the demand should stop from this shipyard for the Time Ships are sold (to Players or Computer based Factions). Even the Planets should have a consumption of goods. So it could be that on a planet like Harries Oxygen and Water would get a Price to 2000 each cargo or get a Price from 1 if the Players and/or NPCs would deliver to much of it.


    Clan (Faction) based, destroyable and dockable Stations which have to produced before, dockable Carriers to be produced, the supplyment of those Architextures, Planets to explore with a surface based invasion (which can be completly destroyed and regenerate in some days and the terraforming to dockable Planets (vips, prisoners and settlers for bringing the life to it) are the next ideas.

  • those r good ideas, kermit... but freelancer wasn't made for it initially, so i don't think we'll b seeing it anytime soon.


    therefore, x universe with a multiplayer in a freelancer world would b a fine freelancer. :)

  • 1.Maybe I would get back to these project one day, but I would love to fly trough a city, in the midle of the building's and such, with difrent landing platforms, which one leading not to a station but to a difrent room (these last one it's easy).


    2.A system where a batle is going on, BS stations at an engaging distance, you dock and you pick a missins to kill someone in the midle of the enemy fleet everyone in the way would be red of course. Maybe fleet's could change location with a dinamic unverse. ( i know these was made before but not with the missions and the dinamic part)


    3.Imagine that you buy your ship all in part's, you buy the engine, you buy the cockpit, the wing's, and then the weapon's. every peace of equipemt would change your ship stat's.


    these would require a way of mount hard point's in hard point's, :evil: (i'll keep dreaming)


    4.I share Kermit version of an dinamical economy.

    oh and maybe THIS too... - imagine waht chaos would it create if ships it that inner core would suddenly have their controls changed (forward to fire, down to dock, fire to cruise) => is it possible to make (in certain zones) the controls change?

  • My dream is to see a more realistic economy.


    1. first of all create needs in some sector so there is a natural demand for some goods.
    2. make the offer of products in function of his production. example: food in very large quantities but diamonds are rare.
    3. each station has his own production and offer this at different quantities . EX: planet XIL produces 80.000 T of grain, 12.000 T of iron and 1.000 T of gold.
    4. Only large cargos ( train ) can buy bulk products: grain, meat, coal ...
    5. Small cargos ( fighter ) will transport less quantities but pricier like gold, diamants, artefacts...
    6. When buying at a station the buyed quantity will be substracted from the stock until deplection.
    7. All planet must have a production time to restore some of all of their stocks.
    8. To produce their stocks the planets needs products from other ( distant ) planets. EX: to produce grain you need fertilazers or to produce plannels you need steel ...
    9. With this system you create a cycling in different products and obliged to look for different ways to get it done because of deplection of goods. ( more or less the same system as for wrack goodies ).

    New ships more related to the level of your char


    ie u just cant go around buying all the new ships with 10mill and level 40 or whatever it is now.


    ie a new player cant be going around in a Saracen within a day of joining the server unless someone has donated/given them 300mill to increase their level to 65 or whatever.


    At the moment - everything is accessible very quickly which is both good and bad :-)


    Oh - I would also like to see a mining area (Diamond mines of Hiruga like) that can give as much cash as the Prison to Stutt run -


    or the very least put in a trade route in each of the house systems to disperse activy amongst Bretonia, Kusari, Rheinland - NOT IN LIBERTY - equally as good - but maybe less than the current yield we get with Prisoners.

  • to make the server set random wars between NPCs (eg we all play in MP but suddenly Rheinland declares a war on Kusari and all the NPCs start fighting and u may join and stuff, or Liberty Rouges suddenly w/ no reason ally w/ someone to take over Liberty) -> like politics and random activities from NPCs...

  • Some of the economies ideas are not dreams but reallity i must say:


    There is at least one mod out there that allow players to buy miners and let them mine and produce...you also have a kind of bank account in wich you can manage your profits from mining and other economy actions, is very complete. And i think you can own stations there also...pitty i dont remember the mods name rigth now. But i remember that the economy system is done with FLshell and console commands.


    Now my dreams:


    Ownable bases for clans, the purpose of them is to serve as storage, for cash, equipment and goods. The way to implement this is that everybody from the clan can dock the base but as soon as you dock and go to the ship or trader screen the base promt you asking for an ID and PW, once you type them correctly base identify you and show your storage in order to let you unload cargo/equiptment or load it . This way you can consider it as home base¡¡
    Also this base should be customizable with the clan logo.

    Is it possible to link the purchase of ships to licenses?


    Hmm - maybe too much work to keep it uptodate -


    what about a rp element that requires clans to only sell ships to non clan members - only if they provide 10 Trainloads of minerals/ore/gold/silver?


    To give a pretence that ships are produced rather than just purchased like any other commododity?


    Off course it will be abused and not everyone will follow it - but maybe between clans there can be an agreement?

  • how about clan fighters? alot of work i understand but it may prove to have some real diverse requests as to specs.
    like i said id love the ship in newpols sig :P rated as a light fighter with around 8k armour, 2 lvl 10 mounts, 2 lvl 9/8 mounts, 2*cd, cm, lvl10 shield and real high manouvreability.


    would be nice to see different types of upgrades to shield, armour, regen, power gen etc...it may improve battles and rp by varrying the different specs of the individuals fighters. different ship strengths and weaknesses causing different weps loadouts on different ships, making the pvp far more interesting.


    can we have some different specced cap ships? with higher refire, lower output weps?


    how about miner ships that can stay active in a field when the player logs off?!!! earn while you sleep :D:P


    more varied weps...atm most ppl use ppc, gatts or dka's. how about various refire weps..after all some prefer 8.33's to 3.03's

    anyway...


    1. destructable parts that actullay DO stuff, like you can shoot off the left engine and the affected ship will keep turning left, or you could shoot at the cockpit and the controls would be disabled for a few seconds.
    2. variable crash damage. like if a ship rammed full speed into a capship versus another fighter, it would get more damage from the capship. also if it ran into certain parts like one of the sharp ends on the kusari battleship or the front of the dagger it would take heavy damage.
    3. (really dreaming) a tractor beam that could actullay tractor beam other ships, like to affect their path, could pull them closer of push them away.
    4. a "fair" cloak like halos active camo.
    5. a third powerup thingy, like a "power batt" that restores power. in the mod i play some of the ships have large, slow regenearting power supplies where this could be useful.
    6. a way to solve fl server's way of having NPCs push all the players out of the way like they have no mass.
    7. variable docks, like on some stations therres that big dock thing where a battleship could be docked, well if a battleship tried to dock there, it would goto that point insted of the small dock that the fighters go in.
    8. auto turrets, like either for weapons, so the capship can shoot like an npcs does, from both sides. or just auto flak turrets, so they could automatically shoot down incoming torpedos.
    9. a way to make engines have class restrictions so that they could be customizable.
    10. a control to switch between linked or unlinked fire modes. like in linked mode the guns fire all at the same time, while in unlinked mode they have an overall faster ire rate and more chance of a hit.

  • The Ablity to build own, hidden, jumpgates. Imagine... you build a Jumpgate in the outskirts of a systems (let`s say 100k over planet Leeds) link it to another gate, which has also been secretly build (Let`s say the outskirts of Far Point). And use it. Off course these gates should be destructable.

    Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

    More reason for ppl to patrol these routes. And ok... additional feature: systemwide scan to detect thise jumpgates & maybe hack them to self-destruct... not without a big bang off course... ^^ And if these gates are built... the construction of 1 gate should cost over 5 bil in total and take around 5 hours...so let`s see: 10 bil construction expenses... 5 hour building time... shortens the trade time to only a few mins... trade for 2 hours... you got it all back with a lil bonus.

    im a single player lover of freelancer
    and im totally lack of reality like mod to freelancer
    now is stupid to play sp campagin eaven in cf couse u must use same ships like always librty ships are totally crap compare to rheiland and is funnyw hen u fiish campagin and back to liberty in anubis that no one can touch your shields lol


    i see this lke this in every nation are lvled ships npc use ships from lvl 1 to lvl 30 and much more normal npc , and in single player most iritaiting thing is that all enemys atack PC not his wingman or so is tupid and in campagin npc wingmans should be much beter not like now thta i fly in tuhoku mision and i must totally alone kill everything couse my wingmans dont kill one ship couse shooot to i dont know what but sure not to enemys . awesome thing was be new single player real campagin with voice acting sumthing like this maybe next chapter of freelancer starting after end of sp campagin and then come dk's and new systemes , was be fun to see real traders not like npc fly same routes with same stuff and got starcrarckers to cower couse is looks stupid . and i think now is stupid to got 150 ships in crossfire couse all ppl fly lags or kossaks or this third name i dont remmeber, any one see pilot in raven claw or deathstar? no . and imho is stupid that VHF is fly like LF maybe now u got 200 weapons 150 ships but ppl a use 3 max 4 ships ppc gatlings or DK guns and vl 10 gravitron shields no ONE use molecular shields or so .so why the reazon for give all this new ships when no one is using them anyway? u should use in crossfire 88 flak ai ( best freelancer ai i ever see) balance ships make a diferents vhf should fly like brick not like LF so ppl stop fly laggs with ppc start use lf to beter dodging fly with non lvl 10 guns but prolly no vhf will kill lf couse of his speed and dodging avalibility , make many diferent power planets/engines so more speed/less firepower or more firepower less speed sumthing like this / ships should not only looks diferent they should be reall diferent like one ship is uber fast but got only 2 lvl 10 weapns and 2 lvl 8 weapons 2 cd 2 or 3 trusters lvl 8 max shield for lf and can make short range hiper space jumps ( like 30 kilometers max u put a way point and clikc jump to location then ship creating a mini jum hole and jump but powe to this item should regen long time and we got fast scout ship who can evac himself when in trubles or fast help in battle) or VHF with uber hull 2 times lvl 10 shields 6 lvl 10 guns uber poweer plant one automatick turet who got 2 modes first mode free atack eery enemy in range b atack enemy who u got as target 4 torps and cm droper,) shields should be mor balanced and weapons too uber wepons like ppc or gatlings are totally stupid
