    My position is clear.

    was that aimed at me?

I do not blame Gunny for being annoyed, although i do not beleive on SWAT was the right place to vent the anger.

LP's remember if you do get any stuff like this, i did write clear instructions on what to. Please stick to it.

Not only to take the matter up with an SP, but also to provide screenshots etc so that the person doing all this can be found out in the correct fashion. To only provide a comment with no back up makes you look just as bad as the rumour has been rumour-mongered further!.

bit disappointed with this issue to say the least.

Gunny please accept our appologies. LP are under instruction not to let rumours on the SWAT forum. And have been correctly doing that part.

yes plz dont warn me of merc hit im happy with that. i didnt think i said anything about merc hits. only about escorts and that we would ask for tax wherever possible.

escorting and assasinations 2 different jobs.

happy with no warning on assasination attempts.

    this is just a suggestion....

putting myself in Merc shoes, this is what i would do with regard to escorting...

A: Ask player if he will pay a fine or tax to pirate/police if stopped.

B: Assess player to determine if he normally pays tax/fine

that is the risk evaluation done.

    then

    Quoting price on this:
C: percentage of the traded profit margin (say 40% for example) minus the tax/fine if he pays it (depending on rank could be 3 mil), plus a risk amount based on your risk evaluation (coverring cost of ammo etc).

i suggest risk money is paid up front, then profit margin payed on job completion. the tax/fine money is deducted from profit money payment to you.

this means he gets a discount if he pays tax/fine, also, he loses less if he loses cargo, also, your are less likely to have a situation where the escorted person is fired upon with no warning from pirate, but if he is fired on then you already know that he was high risk and if you save him after being fired at then the extra risk money has counterred the cost of ammo etc.... Police should not fire without warning on a smuggler anyway as per server rules, and if they do then report to a Server police.

this way you will not be so hard pressed to loose too much if your client dies, and therefore no need to make fights and possibly venturing into acts of piracy on police and others.

That 1 sentence sums up the whole issue imho.

    :(

Very sad indeed. But your descision.
Well i hope the other games you like to play are in the SWAT portal list of games so we can keep in touch. Say hi, and maybe join a game of whatever you are playing. Its always been an honour to see you in CF.

Will you still be keeping the CF server up, as admin, i.e. accepting clan system rent and rebooting on occasion?
I can only think it would be pointless to make 1.8 if you just going to switch server off.

this is where your merc ideas break down, on the 'protection' jobs.

reason why is because countless times i have been trading or mapping or collecting equips and im attacked for no reason. not necessarily always your merc clan, but mercs in general.

Server RP rules do not say anything about KOS on Police or Pirates for Merc RP except for an assasination.

The fact your client is carrying BMG does not entitle you to attack police just because hes in scanner range. What does allow you to attack police is if the police try to kill the guy you are protecting, i.e. they start shooting. Same against Pirates.

Here is example of what engagements we should really see:
Police: Smuggler i see your BMG, drop it and pay Fine!
    Smuggler: No im under protection.
Police: (knowing now he will have 2 or more ppl to fight decides to attack or leave the smuggler to go about his business).

    Pirate: Tax or Die!!
    Smuggler: No im under protection!.
Pirate: (decides to either fight the protectors too or leave him alone.)

This is just sticking to server rules. and not making new ones up, because... Merc are not allowed to KOS Pirates and Police.
If you want to go around KOS'ing anyone near you then be a Pirate clan.

On another note, Police are not allowed to KOS smugglers (server rule), they are supposed to be fining them, same as pirates try more often than not to tax first.

So why the hostility being shown toward police and pirate i will never know, but this itself does cause problems so have a think about it.

    8o?(
Good luck in whatever you choose to do OP, my thoughts are same as Priv and Dopp, however your decision is yours, no doubt you have made it a concious descision.

maybe OP make new Military clan from the depths of Altair to fight BGs for some new RP? who knows 8)

OP, in order for SWAT portal to take off from what LR was doing, does this mean you will have other FL mods listed here.

imho, this would be good as then it would be truly universal. also would bring in the ppl who before went to LR.

    just a thought.

as a cyclist myself i can understand your concerns for your bike, i hope your steed will survive.

also, hope you get well soon m8, i didnt think you needed a mouse to play, nobody can catch you to pvp you anyway.

so elusive you are. well, looks like the only way to catch you is on a bike. [9]

i will call off the 125 mil bounty now :D

stay at home and rest m8 if u can, your long term recovery comes before short term work.

read between the lines, Ryzune is saying that the reason why he is here is the community, and if a person who plays on other servers rates our community as good and cares about it, then thats good in my book.
he isnt going to leave just because it doesnt have a gun or ship he likes. here hes showing depth of character for himself and the server.

Community is very important for an online game. its the whole reason why we play online rather than offline.

Whilst other servers (and yes i admit i have tried a few) have more people online at the moment, i would say CF has the most colourful and exiting people of all.

the fact so many people keep returning to CF speaks for itself.

and like priv says, theres always a drop in ppl before a new mod release, this is true, i seen it in other types of games too. i think maybe people sorting other things out in rl so they can have more time to spend uninterrupted when the next version is released.

the game is what we make it. its up to us to make it good. so make an effort, do your RPs and most importantly, be enthusiastic about your RP, because enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm.

    lets play.
