Why could the storm trooper fight against a junior Sith, actually he wouldnt have a single chance. And i have to agree about the death star story. Something different would have fit more into the story. From that moment on it was just Star Wars Episode 4 again
I also agree to the ending, and climbing all the stairs.

But hey the first movie, i hope the characters as well as the story develops further during the other two movies...

I never tried use too much logic for stuff like Star Wars ... and this not only for physics. Like situation when all are searching for Luke and Han easily find a "right" person (where by a pure "luck" appears Luke's sabre) and there were more such "lucky" moments. Or that "rebels" squad walks into capacitor and there is practically no defense or guards. In some moments it was little naive and with too much luck and expected results ... but on other side I enjoyed all this time spent in cinema, included 3D effects, and I'm looking forward to next sequel. Maybe it is the most important on it, it is far from "perfect", but it opened new story with new faces in SW universe and I myself really like it.

For this ending "stairs" moment ... for me it was ok, there was feelings involved included .. hmm how to tell this ... "aura" linked with Luke's sword which imo can be understand (if he will take it) as his decision to go back and face all these old bad things and so on (there was only very slightly touched that the new dark Jedi turned against his master Luk). Simply take fighter and trying to dock it on mountain cliff, I'm not sure if that can be taken as a good idea (and been logical) at all, imo more logical it was the way how they did it (i.e. using own feet for climbing up on the stairs).

Indeed there are a lot of unlogical moments. But wasn't the first time in Star Wars history :-).

It was not lukes lightsabre. It was Vaders, the one Obi Wan took from Vader after defeating him, the one he then passed on to Luke in episode 4, the one which was lost when Vader and Luke had their fight on Bespin. Luke lost his hand and the lightsabre was also lost at that point of episode 5. In Episode 6 Luke had constructed his first own sword, the one with the green glow. There is even a scene where Vader mentioned the good work Luke has done with that sword. Thats the point where Vader noticed how powerful Luke is as the construction of a lightsabre is a difficult process which requires to reshape the structure of the crystals with the help of the force.
However, the last scene of the new movie (no matter how dull it appears) makes sense since luke feels the force in ray and he remembers the lightsabre of his father. For him, everything good and everything bad started with this sword.

Climbing up that mountain is for me actually nothing unusual. You dont land a space ship on the top of a mountain, not knowing whats on the top and not knowing if that mountain is really solid ground.
However, what I am always surprise about is that it is possible to find a person on a planet just knowing that the planet is the location.
I mean... if somebody told you that the person you are looking for is on earth... where on earth do you start searching?
Apparently they always land on the right corner of a planet.
Maybe there is a red neon sign "land here" or maybe the force leads them... dunno.

When Disney got hands on Lucasfilms a very large amount of Starwars games, books and comics were declared non-canon. With other words the stories told there were all of a sudden no official part of the Starwars universe. That and only that allowed the movie to happen with this story.
Problem is that the new evil faction based on the official lore was created by imperial troops and leaders which were originally against the construction of the original death stars. They considered it a waste of resources.
And now... in this new movie exactly this faction constructed a new kind of death star. That does not fit well into that official story.

With a death star as big as a planet... and a fixed firing point (obviously the big hole does not change its angle) how do you aim?

Personally the consumption and storing of energy of that new death star does not surprise me much. It actually does not matter how its done. The star forge also consumed the energy of a sun and was by far smaller... so its simply something that fits into the star wars universe. At best it can be said that this idea was simply taken from Knight of the old Republic.

What surprised me a bit was that the rebels were still an independent group. They dont seem to be part of the new republic.

And how the fuck is that new droid working... its a ball... how can it move in such ways?

It's simple: Solo junior changes to the dark side and his hair, too

People speculate that Ray is Lukes daughter.
I am a bit sceptical on this one eventhough it might be true.
Personally I would see very little reason to bring her to a desert world when she was a child. At least I wouldnt connect it with Kylo Rens deception where he destroyed the new Jedi council.
Kylo is about the same ages as Ray but his deception must have happened when he already was grown up. So this does not fit with the theory that Luke wanted to secure Ray on an isolated world in order to protect her.

People speculate alot about Snoke. How tall he really is... and which role he played so far.
For me most interesting was that he showed absolutely no emotions, even when the new super weapon was destroyed.
He also made comments about Kylo being influenced by both, the dark side and the light side. It appeared to me that he considers this something good, something that he aims for.
It might be that he is some kind of grey jedi or a sith lord similar to darth treya who seeks balance between the dark and light side.
Since Episode 1 the jedi were talking about the one person who brings balance to the galaxy. So far however, it was a fight between dark and light where the balance always shifted from one side to another.
Snoke appears to be pretty old and wise.
It would not surprise me if he had a bigger influence on everything that happened so far. Some people seem to believe that he actually is Darth Plagueis (who was palpatines master).
Dunno, maybe.. maybe not.

In my eyes the most interesting character of the new movie was Maz Kanata.
While having only a relative short appearance that character was full of interesting surprises.
More than 1000 years old. Making fun of Han and Chewie.
She kept the light sabre of Anakin Skywalker in a treasure chest and she did know damn well about the history of that sword. Thats a good indication that she is not just a smuggler.
She also appears to be force sensitive as she instantly noticed the force in Ray.
She also gave the sword to Finn and told him to use it. I think she knew that he can fight with it. She seems to see more in people than an ordinary person could see. (Finn most likely is force sensitive aswell).
While knowing where the light sabre came from she was for some reason not willing to tell how she got hands on it. Maz seems to know alot about the force but I am not sure if she can use the force. Kylo Ren certainly would have felt it if there was another jedi or sith on that planet.
I see clear similarities to Yoda eventhough Maz might not be able to use the force (just sense it).

Maz makes an interesting comment about her recognizing the same eyes in different people. This scene is followed instantly by a close-up of Ray and then Han Solo.
This counters the theory that Ray is Lukes daughter. Instead she might be Han Solos and Leia daughter (eventhough there is absolutely no good explaination where she was left alone on that damn planet).
However, its noticable that Han and Ray got along quiet well with each other. Same thoughts... same ideas... both with a talent to keep the Millenium Falcon running somehow.

That also would explain the final scene a bit more.
Ray went to Luke expecting him to train her.
If she is Han Solos daughter than Luke might fear to fail again in the same way he failed with Rays brother (Kylo).

Its all speculation but it would make sense based on the given puzzle pieces.

What also made me wondering: They just have a debris of a map of the universe and they dont know which planet it is they are looking for?

Ray probably lives on a desert world the same as Luke did, same as his father did. Very likely thats a good hide-out for generations. No one wants to look there for some reason. I somehow got the feeling that Ray is either the sister or the cousin from Kylo. Cousin would fit more i think as Leia and Luke already were siblings.

Snoke, did remind me on the species used as Ceators of menkind in the Alien movie Prometheus. That the hologram was that big means nothing. Its just a hologram. I dont think its Palpatines master as Palpatine told Anakin that he killed him.

I also find Maz interesting, I consider her kind of priest not using the power itself but knowing everything about it. Maybe she knew Yoda and is of similar race. I think she also will play a role in the next movies.
