Crossfire 2.0 Launcher problems

    Hi there!



    First I want to say that the mod is great, as it was, in fact, from the beginning. The best expansion out there for a game like Freelancer. :king


    But I have a weird problem with the Crossfire Launcher. It updates the game and there is a notification from the LauncherUpdater: "Trying to read update information". When I enter Multiplayer I cannot see the SWAT server on the list of servers.
    Also, for some reason every time I open the Launcher the settings Open SP and Use Low Resolution are checked automatically.


    The thing is that a week ago I was able to see the SWAT server in game and I payed a little bit. And my laptop is a Dell Inspiron N7110, with 8GB of ram, I7 W8 64-bit.


    I will probably do a clean reinstall sometime soon to see if it solves the problem. Did anyone have this kind of issue?

    this version works, and Use low resolution is finally uncheckable (thanks!), but no server in list as well.


    In my EXE folder there are 96 similar looking files named "update.dat.0", "update.dat.1", ..., "update.dat.95". Maybe they have something to do with the "Trying to read update information" message?

    ive kept the server offline to prevent further damages since the launcher is not downloading updates and therefore all clients are not synchrone with the server
    that would have crashed the server and probably could have caused damaged chars

    Downloaded Huors attached launcher (few posts above) and it looks all ok. It remember settings once closed, updates downloaded ok.


    Btw: for what is that "low resolution" setting?

    DL Huor's file and installed. When checking to see if I had excess update files like (IOC)Wanderer had and I found that the Freelancer file in the CF 2.0 mod EXE folder is dated 10/8/14 while the one in the Freelance folder is dated today. Is this going to cause problems or ??? Up to now it hasn't.


    Tried to start game and got the launcher window showing it was updating with another window overlayed on it showing the msg "trying to read update information". Then it started doing what Aldenar Odin had happen. I did not have the excess files that (IOC)Wanderer did.

    the ppl which used huor file (the test - which really was only a test and not the solution) should better contact huor now via pm


    a final fix was released but wont be applied to the clients which used the test version

    :) luckily made backup prior used dev file and no problem :) .
