Simba made the translation a long time ago.
As you might have recognized Simba has not been online for a long time as well due real life.
In the meantime several things changed, including the forum boards and its content.
Due logical thinking the conclusion would be the translated content from Simba has been removed along several other stuff which became outdated as well.

Sorry for expecting logical ways from some people who prefer to present themself as so smart but failing after all.

How about working on your English first, before trying to translate something from English to Romanian.

Ok, then do it yourself Abras, by translating it to Romanian, as "I have no idea about english, and I can't make a translation that way" and you think yours is perfect. I won't ruin your vision about your own english by pointing out mistakes you keep doing.

I did expected your "logical way" would notice that I was going to type in Romanian, not English, and that I don't need perfect english grammar to understand the rules.

Dude. Starting again? I NEVER said Im perfect, did I? I NEVER said that you have no idea about English, did I? The only thing I always said was that YOU pretty often do NOT get the right meaning of whats written/said. But ok. Sorry for wondering how you can translate something into Romanian where you obviously don't even get the right meaning of the language the source is written in.

Just translate it and thats all. People who dont perfectly know the Romanian language are not able to prove its proper translation from english, people who dont know the English language perfectly dont know the rules anyway. But the basics should be clear and for basics you must not be perfectly. Otherwise we would need a court to judge about it.

And to avoid just that I would appreciate a romanian version and with that I guess we would nnot have to read another 10 posts about Micheal and Abras arguing. Merry xMas you both!

I am, there are more romanians on the server than DACIA, so it'll come handy for everyone and the server, and that's what I care most.

It was a bit complicated to translate it having a keyboard without some of the romanian characters, as I'm living in Spain for a while.

Michael, I'm sorry...but a friend of mine asked me to review the translation and alot of its parts are uncomprehensible in Romanian...this means both morphology mistakes and synthax ones. On top of that, this is not the translation of the rules but more like your perception of the rules.

Example:

For instance:
NO CHEATING
Cheating is defined as manipulating the game to gain an unfair advantage over other players. This includes the use of map bugs and exploits, scripts and macros.

should have been translated as:

NU SE TRISEAZA
A trisa se defineste ca manipularea jocului in scopul castigarii unui avantaj neechitabil asupra altor jucatori. Aceasta include folosirea unor bug-uri de harti, a "exploit"-urilor, a "script"-urilor si "macro"-urilor.

Which is translated in English something like:

(He goes on by saying stuff about the Server Police retaining its right to investigate the hard disk of players and other stuff...)

which is translated in English:

Offending names
The only motive for which somebody would want to use a name is offensive, is for offending or affronting other players and this type of behavior is not permitted on this server. Consequently, offending names or those which are destined to cause an inconvenience or to distract the attention of other players will not be tolerated. Any player that uses a name which is considered as being inadequate will be eliminated off the server and "taken acces to server".

The above text actually makes more sense in English than it does in Romanian...

My opinion:

He did a bad job at translating the text, adding and substracting alot but he does not neccessarily have bad intentions because he tries (without succeding) to transmit a message that is close to the original message...All in all, proably the man is not so good with translating stuff, as he doesn't translate stuff properly and moreover, his Romanian is well...not so good (probably because he spent most of his life outside Romania).

My conclusion: Either ask somebody else to do it or just use Google Translator. GT would at least keep the text in its original logically intended form and would retain sort of the same coherence in Romanian because otherwize Romanian people that do not speak English or speak a bad English or can't read English --will not understand the Romanian version of the rules--.

P.S. My interest in this is 0 as I've been asked by a friend of mine to review the translation and post my conclusions here, so I am not active at SWAT, CF or PX for that matter at the present.
P.P.S. I haven't been playing CF for 2 years now, so I don't have any interest in making Michael look bad...but this is my objective opinion on the matter.

hmm, who do nothing, nothing can do wrong. Everyone can do mistakes. ... but maybe instead showing other do mistake, will be better do this translation in one piece and correct. ... and ask for change. All good, no one offended ...

The differences with the english version are possible, as I took the Arvedui's spanish rules translation as reference(they should also be the same).

But they mean the same things, as you also said.

I will fix those differences when I get some time.

StephanoV: The problem it sounds unusual in Romanian, is cus I did used a bit the GT as you recommended, and I see it's better not using it at all. And yes, it was my first "official" translation

Thanx for showing the differences, if it wasn't by you I might have forgotten about comparing it with the english version(as I used the spanish one which was telling things the same way, different than the english one, and didn't checked it).

Wait, while checking the diffences, I just noticed that the server rules you took as reference are the ones from the Crossfire site, and not the correct ones. I had to translate OP's rules from the same section in this forum, these: index.php?page=Thread&threadID=2328

The original Cheating one (from OP) is this:

Instead of the CF site one you took as reference:

And the offensive names rule was this:
