The introduction of a new user group system was done already a few months ago. Now the first step going into that direction has been done.
With the introduction of a Premium User Group active users here on the Forum will be able to get special rights such as individual forum styles, access to more functions and probably tons of other things that even I can not imagine at the current point of time.
The Forum automatically will manage the new user group and decides which user can join it. Currently the decision about membership in that group depends exclusivly on activity points. You can gain such points by actively posting on the forum, creating new constructive topics, helping at the wiki, the lexicon, adding images to the galleries, adding links to our link list... and... and ... and...
While this new group management is relative new we tried to keep it simple. Currently Premium Users are the only ones having full access to the Lexicon (CF WIKI) while other users can only see a few references on the forum. The task was to create a Wiki for active community members and restrict access for new players which only search for the easy way playing the game. We hope that this will also motivate players to join the community and be active part of it.
What about users with high activity points but which didn't take part in the communities life for quiet some time?
We are currently thinking about introducing a way to remove "inactive" users from the Premium User Group again but it will take a bit longer to make this technically possible.
