Docking sequence

    As u already know docking sequence for train last 60 sec.Most of us who like to trade, think this is too long and unrealistic!
    Ppl mostly do agree with 15 sec long undocking sequence, but they think 60 sec for docking is a way too much.
    Let's see what is public opinion about this issue.

    next to that mooring does not disallow fast docking

    I heard that u are able to create a mod for 1 night...cmo'n what is 30 sec in comparasion with that?

    I really like docking sequence, u remember, but this is really beoynd good taste dude, regardless of whether it is technically possible or it is not.

    As OP said, fast docking works and you don't wait... just cruise till the right point.

    Not that I do care for the lenght of the sequence, as long the ship does dock. What is this vote's purpose?


    And Michael. I would like to see YOU making a fast dock with a TRAIN on Waterloo station or Trenton Outpost or Freiburg Station, or even Triangulum Dock.
    And please dont just tell it's possible. Prove it with a video :D

    @ Martin On Atka Research, I managed a fast dock once. But don't ask me how I did it, I cant remember. Might just have been accidently. But why worrying about fast dock as long the train class ship is docking at all. Within the sequence you can't get hurt anyway, so your load is "safe" ;)

    I like the 'no docking sequence' as the neon-server does it .... but then i don't really care, as long as it actually docks and I don't have to Alt f4 out of a never ending sequence ever so often ...


    Once a sequence goes over 1 minute.. I kill it and try again ...

    I found only a few bases ( in 1.82, I not have 1.9 yet :( ) like Shinjuku and others like it where the trains backup to the station then make a 180 to dock :( those r slow and irritating but other then those I have no issue with train docking :)

    Rare are the bases I didn't find the fast docking point and that is because I didn't take the time to find it. There are not always placed where you would think, look around and don't forget that the nose of your ship needs to touch the base to work better.

    And did u guys ever ask ur slf where is the point in the docking sequence then?

    @SOME of you, and in generally speaking when it comes about culture of dialog in RL and forum discussion (explanation for Abras: generally speaking is not to speak in the name of all)


    1) Forget that i am like you guys, because i am not, this is not my issue and never was, i am not asking because i need an answer, i am not asking because i don't know how to fast dock!


    2) Many times i will ask or start the topic because i know that many of u have some issue not just me!


    3) This is not 1.82 discussion, this 1.9 so how the fuck some of u can discuss about something which u never tried?No matter the docking remain the "same" as it was in 1.82.The things are NOT the same as they were in 1.82! When u try 1.9 hopefully u will be able to figure out relations between speed, mass, moving and docking!
    Where is ur basic culture gone?If u ever had one?

    Here was so far nothing serious wrong (imho this thread is much better as many others - spam, offtopic content).


    Bond: maybe ppl do not have so big prob with docking as you think. On other side might be good idea wait when is mod re-released and much more ppl will have real experience with 1.9


    p.s.: and OP comment above is clear enough. I take it that this is something we must live with :) (we can talk later on skype)

    There is still NO sense in that whole thing here!

    1) who said you are like others? No one so far. And by pointing that out so specificly, no one is even going to compare you with themself ;)
    If you dont ask, because you do not need an answer, or because you you don't know how to fast dock. Why do you ask then?


    2) Right now I only see ONE person having a major issue. And its not even clear why.


    3) The only person who did mention 1.82 (because he does not have 1.9 yet) mentioned STATIONS with their differences. Nothing else!
    There was NO mentioning of mass, movements, speed or whatever, from his side.
    And the stations did NOT change, also NOT the docking behaviour of any stations. All stations are the same kind as they have been in other versions.


    And what does all of this have to do with culture? Also the fact that you kinda questioning other members here to ever have had any culture?
    I (personally) see this as kinda misbehaviour toward others, who you dont even know!

    You mention to need facts before posting. So I suggest to collect some facts yourself, before you make any further statements like your last one.


    You CAN speed dock with ANY SHIP. You will just need practise again.
    I personally did make fast docking with BS's, APC's, Train's and Fighters. And all of it in 1.9
    All it took was a bit practising the new physics, calculating how fast your vessel is drifting and in which direction you need to turn and when you need to start turning.
    I even make fast dock on TL's when comming with cruise speed with a full train sidewards. Its NOT a problem, after practising.


    If you don't have any idea how mass is really working, get yourself a motorcycle and start driving races. Or get yourself a car and start practising sliding sidewards on iced roads.
    Yes I did it a lot, when I was driving do deliver packages, it gives a lot of practice how mass is actually affecting the vehicle :)
    It's pretty much the same, when you have a feeling for the movement of the vehicle you are driving.
