EVENT REWARDS - General Question

    Regarding to the lack of participants on certain events I wonder what YOU active people (Multiplayer) are interested in getting as reward.
    I would really apreciate when those who reply or/and vote on here, are going to be honest about themself.
    It does not make any sense to try to make things more interesting for ALL of us, if no one gives a true feedback on asked questions.
    When I see 35+ players online at the time events starting but just 5-10 participating, I really wonder what we could change to make more people being interested in participating.


    Therefor I ask YOU to tell, what YOU would like to have to take part on certain actions.


    We are ONE community and WE should work together to make things being more interesting.

    Abras, while we think that everyone read the forum at daily bases, this is not the case, so events need to be announced via console in game (read spammed 15-20 times per day) and supported by every GR or ppl with console rights.Ppl simple don't know what is the event about and even if they can participate in it.
    So, IMO this is the NR. 1 problem!

    I understand your concern Bond. But we have to start at some point.
    You can not really announce an event, when you dont even know what the people online expect to get as reward form it to make it being interesting enough to even join.


    The "regular" scheduled events are being "spammed" via console already, (yellow lines popping up every other second)
    But those events are not even good frequented after all. Sometimes you have almost 40 player online but only 5 show up to participate.
    Other times you have only 20 online but 15 are there to take part.
    So there must be something we can do, to make it more interesting for everyone who is online.


    I think those pilots being online, are online because they HAVE time to play. So why not convincing those time-having pilots to participate on the events, than letting them luring around in space and doing nothing.


    One day I would really love to see people actually longing for the day to come when an event is announced. Like waiting in line to get the option to participate, because it is interesting. You know what I mean?

    Well i am sure you know what i voted ;D
    Anyway to give a bit feedback - here is mine:


    Cash is nice and eventually covers costs for the events like TDM and Top Gun. But i very often refused to take these money - mainly because i am making my money on my own and i know that some of the money the EMs are spending comes from their own money that they had to collect. I don't feel happy to take away what someone has collected with a lot of effort (and at those sums you nowadays get for an event - the effort is not less). And i think the money for taking part in events have to be cancelled too. That makes events less interesting - because you just vote to take part. Shoot a bit here and there and just get 5 or more millions. Stupid. People should actually do something to get rewarded.


    Then equipment is also no argument or point to make events interesting. All the equipment you could get is in no way restricted and thus available for everyone else. The guns can be get by everyone. Its interesting for newbies - sure but not for the regular player base. If you want to spend equipment than it should be special one. So a special thruster for a race winner, special gun or missile for a Top Gun winner, One week permission to be able to smuggle for the smuggler winner. Such stuff. And if the winner of an event does not take part in the next event or looses the special item goes to the next events winner. Eventually that could make it interesting to take part in events.
    That would mean a bit of coding - but its feasible. And as many of that is already implemented i could have a look at it to implement the further stuff too.


    Then we or you should try to make events just for the new folks on the server - even if that means "the one who brings me fastest a cup of coffee (i mean some items of coffee from Sol)" gets an reward - money or equipment. Something that is possible for players just started the game and still searching for the information in Sirius or Altair or Inner Core. And - we should try to reward the players who have won with a medal here on the forum.


    I am also sure the events are already announced on a regular basis. There is even a description on the CF page - now they should just be held on this times it is announced. And as we are lacking in people who are the hosts for such events - there should be a special reward for the EM itself (or one of his chars).


    Could also be the starting point for events. Its very often the X system - but why not making it possible to start event in all house systems? So players eventually must not move their chars more than 30 systems just to be able to take part in events.


    Just my humble opinion. I take part to have fun and not to get a financial or equipment reward.

    Your point of "bring me the coffe, but fast" I already do occasionaly. Depending on the time I have, my mood and on the ammount of new players on the server :)
    I've done it several times, not with coffee but with certain good, which would have to be found first (after giving a hint) and then bringing it to a certain place where I was waiting a certain time. ;)
    I just dont want to do such thing too often, so that its not getting usual.


    The other stuff (reffering to the rewards) sounds very good, but it would mean the additional coding from the development side and then, for SURE being held on a schedule as well as being implemented from OP.

    unfortunately yes. But most of those people are not even participating when there is way more money to earn than the usual reward.
    But on the other hand, we dont know why they are not there by this time. Or immediately dont have time, or have to hang out in other systems during the event and not bothering with taking part :)

    As a non-rich pilot...I do like the chance to make a bit of extra credits 8). ...but more is a chance in some events to fly with members of other RP or new members to CF. I will always try to inform new players to the fun of joining these events. Afterall, you EM's spend the time to have them...would be nice to see the effort generate larger participation

    lol agreed and remember the time b4 i step in clan...were so confused in first 2-3 months with all this data.I didn't know where is my place with all this :" Join CSF, join ASF things... then u remember announced things which never going to happen...lol i remember my first days and that i spent almost 4 hours waiting in Arena for event to start, and nothing happened...:D

    Timing is the reason I dont participate in the events.
