How about some sort of mailing list for events? I always forget about the events. But I'm on the forum everyday. This won't work for everyone, being that not everyone uses the forum.

Some people look at the events....and think.....I stand no chance
Some think.....thats just for all those guys on group (whatever)....I wouldn't be welcomed
Some think .....if I don't do well in the event, all those guys on group (whatever) will always screw with me
Some think.....I might get teamed up with a (pirate) (cop) (whatever)
Some just don't care
Some maybe don't even understand the words of the announcements
As a non-rich pilot...I do like the chance to make a bit of extra credits
...but more is a chance in some events to fly with members of other RP or new members to CF. I will always try to inform new players to the fun of joining these events. Afterall, you EM's spend the time to have them...would be nice to see the effort generate larger participationYup. I try to overcome that shyness. Although I have a Universe Channel and Console channel + even Invites players through private channels.
Now we have 7/7 events per week ... majority of awards are raised... i host BIg Race and have special rule:
all ship allowed to first winand for experienced players are forbiden LF-HF-BS.
TDM and Ancient Hunt always place them in the right wing.
(last night i have best group for ancinet hunt hard core pilots: Bond,Ridley,Cristhen,Fero)( and me

+ Hero always donate his prize to some novice dude. cca 10-15M
Lols now remembered: on TDM for unexperienced players even approve of nano and bots.The one I'm sure if novice need help advice will always find players at the event, which will help them.
