Why not adding some players thinking of Ships :))) the best can be added on the next Crossfire Patch

  • Hm... i Suggest adding the "Normandy" model ship from Mass Effect 2 .. i Recently beat the game and i was most amazed of the NOrmandy.. it will be cool for fighter ir frighter
    I will seek more ship model as i beat some games.. i have some free time lately so i decided it :)

  • Thanx for the idea mate, but:


    - Crossfire can't just get/copy models from another game, they're on different format, and we have to build a brand new ship model that looks more or less the same, also taks a lot of time :P
    - That ship model is copywrighted for sure.
    - Crossfire has hundreds of new ships... have yu tryed them ? There are some light fighters really impressive.... and complex.
    - OP_R8R and CF don't copy from other games or ships... all of our ships are unique, and as much as original they can be, afterall all the ships have some wings there :D Some other mods do have some models from us, as they just have the ships from all mods... but afterall, you can just use 1 ship on a char ^^ How many you need ?
    - OP is also very busy with building the forum, moderation issues and more.




    Hope this helps :) try find the coolest ship in CF, and beat up some of the ace PvPer members ^^ It's big fun enjoying the game.


    After you can say you saw every system, place and ship in-game, then you'll get an award :D and a better idea of what CF has, and copyes... :P

  • Most of Crossfire 1.81's new ships are not with "best" models .. I like around and maX 10 ships.. Shroud.. Some from New Hongkong and 1-2 but i don't remember names ...
    If you can... Little bit... Make smth like Normandy for a Frigate it would bring a whole new Game perfection in the mode.. by adding only systems and storyes won't improve the gameplay.. add some Ship MOdels which don't look like Several Wires connected together.. If you get the idea... Most of ships are with bad models because Starlancer have a bad Graphic quality.. If you change the "material" and "paint" of the ships you can maybe Improve their look :)
    Shroud is Good Looking But It seems he is made from scrap.. The Gray is too.. "old" and the Pain is like.. 10000 years .. xD
    My idea was to get whole new look for ships and improve the look of current ones.. SO if there is a way.. to do it .. i mean to improve the look , i will be glad to see it in the Upcoming Mod patch..
    I like only 1 station on The Patch.. The One on Utopia.. because of it's yellow ball xD
    i can get you many ships from Different Pictures.. But the hardest think is upcoming.. the modeling.. i don't know how.. so it's your job to do it. 8)

  • normandy will never be part of the mod
    and the starlancer models including their texture actually have a pretty good quality meanwhile (in CF1.8)
    and compared to most other mods the overall quality of the ship models and textures is pretty high standard (for a 7 years old game)

  • Also, the battered look of many ships is voluntary. It's the ambiance that was chosen for the game. Shiny ships with bright colours would not fit with the rest of the game.

  • ...I like the concept behind the BullPup 3, merging a fighter with a freighter. It could be nice to see other similar concepts such as light fighter and a freighter or a highly agile gunboat...


    ...experimenting with the ships looks, like color, textures, and scars, could make old ship models more interesting and have more players try them out...


    ...also changing the equipment loadouts could be fun, and adding a new class of ship("The Nebula Explorer" that has very fast thrusters and a hard armor so it can be used to explore and map systems and be very quick at evading and running rather than fighting...

  • As long as you DON'T start adding x-wings and star destroyers i'm good !
    Sadly other "non-SW" mods included them and it gives me the impression it broke any ambiance the mod could have had...

  • Anyways as known (as possibility ? ) there's a group of Capital ships to be added, but no fighter shps as there are many enough ^^

    Op u said on the other post you would make some minor changes on ships.
    U introduced so many good looking ships, but turnspeed is just bad.
    Is it possible to make, let me say about 10-15 ships with turnspeed like lagg and thananathos. Becouse once again all players in the game use the same ship, and in my opinion its a waste becouse there are some awsome ships that are slow as train.

    You're not the only saying that option, make an entire group of same stats (super) ships... neither I was the only... but for a balance for a fair RP server they should all stay balanced one with each other...(as OP said).


    Anyway OP has more important work to do now for the Swat Portal, which supports more games, so any issue about CF has to be delayed ^^ He don't need more pressure.

    There are exactly 7 ships in the mod with the same turn speed of the lagg. There is are 12 ships with slightly slower turning (really slightly) and there are even ships (a very few) with better turning.

    :D Thx OP. This only shows that ppl don't want experiment with ships. They prefer easily and comfort way. ... Why search, if we can use Lagg ... :walklike:. Its really good to know, that make the effort with searching is worth.


    @DR: Second thing is, that not all knows (or better say: only few know? :D ), how to use max potential of their ships. I know it myself very well :( ... :toocool: .... ship dimensions, turning speed, use Armour upgrade or weight reducer?, weapons placement ... weapons choice ... keyboard usage ... :ninja::pfeifen:

    LOL i know there are at least 2 ships with better turnrate than a lagg with 2 torp slots and a cd , but also have worst dimensions and some diferent stats that imo make them worst than a lagg in pvp.
    Forlon i have 4 diferent fighters. All of them have some diferent stats and i tested all of them in pvp. Let me say that only 2 ships are fit for my fighting style.
    I also have a thanathos, its faster turning than a lagg, but has a weak point, and i will not tell u. If u want try to kill me and you will sell it very fast, belive me :)
    If u want a clue find why people didn t use the devil in 1.7, being the second best fighter... ehehehe

    how do you definy that?
    by the subject feeling you got from the cam view or by the real size that can only be (and has been) calculated with a tool?
    maybe i should move away the cam position so suddenly you like the ships size ^^
