I couldn`t care less about the engine color. It could even be black with purple dots - main thing is: it flies

Liberty ships' engines are white. Bretonians are blue. Kusarians are yellow. Rheinlanders are green. Sirians are red. Except for the transports each faction offer : they're all YELLOW. Although, the Libertian Repair Ship is also yellow...
OP, an option for each ship purchase would be awesome : "What color do you want, human?"

Antimatter Engine, I'd like that!

Who wants an antimatter drive? They are finicky and cost way to much in fuel. I much prefer the singularity drives.

But yay ! An lightned black engine with purple dots sounds great xD But well, engines could use effect particles... in that way, it's red with blue dots, or purple, or whatever you choose when activating the mod in "Particle colour" feature.

what faction does Warblade belong too? it has green thrusters, which look very nice thank you OP.
I was wonderring if the Deathblade would also have green thrusters because its same type of ship class, but then, its bought in a completeley different area!.
i have a proposal too (i always have xD ) . OP , what if you introduce later in the game some thrusters that will be available to buy and also change the colour of it , but not ordinary thrusters . What if a Falcon will have some Rheinald Valkyrie thrusters , or a Dromedary will use Rhino thrusters ( ofc the ship must support some class of thrusters ) ? I actually saw that on another server , the customization is a little bit higher , and the effect could be really cool ... (imho)
