My work on Crossfire over the past years with sector mapping, information gathering, as a sort of "Sirius Historian" and "Xeno-Researcher", I have assembled quite a bit of technical data, history, lore and information about Crossfire that I am more than willing to share with you. Hmmmm... Perhaps I need to add the Ancient's surrounding planets in Dervon in the Xeno Guide, it's definitely due for an update with the recent addition(discovery) of the Canis sector.

Alright... I'm going to give my $0.02 on this even though it's probably not even worth that...

Seeing the state of affairs of the PX from my humble beginnings on Crossfire back in 2007 on up until now and seeing them go out in such a disgraceful way is very unfortunate and sad to watch... But perhaps this is more telling of Daywalker's true nature as well of some of the PX High Council unfortunately.

The bottom line is this folks:

You play by the rules in someone else's house or you get out, you are a GUEST, not a OWNER. It doesn't matter if you think they're wrong or not, or you think you are justified in your actions, you obey the in-house rules or get shown the door, THE END. I've seen this on many servers over the years in Freelancer and in other online games. YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ON THIS SERVER IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT. Once you remember that, you'll never go wrong when playing online and it will force you to act accordingly. I think OP has given the PX as a whole countless opportunities to come clean and get straight over the years in their behavior and in various conflicts with other clans that I have been watching from the "side lines" so to speak,(and even involved in one of them with the SA) OP has been far more generous and forgiving than most server owners/operators would have been, much less myself.

My only regret of this situation is that I only hope that some of the other members of the PX will decide to defect at least and be able to return to Crossfire sans the PX tag, if this is what it takes. I hate to see the actions of Daywalker bring down all the PX with him like Shockwave, Son of Angmar and numerous other level-headed PX members in my experiences. I do hope OP will consider reviewing these people's accounts as an per-basis situation and allow them the opportunity to return eventually.

Regardless, my last words to you Daywalker, if you happen to read this, is TO MAN UP SIR. Accept the fact you've made a mistake, correct that mistake and ask OP for forgiveness so that the PX can return to Crossfire. Sometimes a little humility can go a long way in solving problems and sometimes our pride gets in the way of doing the right thing. Don't let your pride take the rest of PX down with you.

Again as I said before, I hold no hostility or ill will towards you or your clan Daywalker(even though many I know of have and still do, because of your past actions) , my beliefs are that every man should be shown mercy, grace and forgiveness, even if they do not. So I hope you do make the right choice so that the PX are able to return to Crossfire. Even if that does not happen, good luck to you all in PX and may you be successful in your future endeavors, where ever that may be.

I've given a more "dignified" and honorable exit for the Knights Of Mercy through the Timeline "lore" here... While it is a shame to see them leave in the way they have chosen, I do not have any hard feelings towards them and hope they fare better elsewhere as a clan in the future. Good journey gents and see you in another galaxy in the future perhaps...

832AS/3012 A.D. - After several years of undercover investigations throughout the Sirius, Altair and Inner Core sectors, the Order's High Command in conjunction with the Dom'Kavash Empire's assistance, issues a incredible decree against the Knights of Mercy mercenary organization: All |PX| pilots are to be hunted down, their ship and vessel assets destroyed and Sidewinder Base in the Alaska system to be confiscated for high treason and treachery against all humanity after proof of contact with the United Dom' Occupation forces for suspected negotiations of a plot to infiltrate and invade the Sirius, Altair and Inner Core sectors and to destroy each sector's respective defensive networks and communications by sabatoge. The invasion force of the Alaska system against the Knights of Mercy clan is overwhelming with not only the Order's 31st fleet, but elements of the ASF fleet composing of the Silver Arrows Protector Fleet, the Bloodguard's Custodian Guard Fleet, The Crossfire Police Department's Tarsus Patrol Fleet, The Independent Operators Consortium Fleet, The United Rebels Nephele Home Security Force Fleet and the Galaxy Ranger's Ragnarok Fleet from Sol. This doesn't even take into considerations of the regular rotation of the earth's poles on it's axis around the sun influencing said ocean temps, much less the El Nino/La Nina oscillation affecting our weather patterns here.

No offense Husker, but anyone can take a simple graph like that and think that the earth is warming without examining ALL data and having a insufficient size data sample.

Again, it's too little conclusive data, you need several MILLENIA of data from various sources besides tornado strikes to even get any serious, conclusive data of any global climate trend. Besides, the planet according to all scientific theory as well is at least 4.6 BILLION YEARS, half a century's worth of data is like a pico-second in that amount of a time-frame.

In the short term, YES the planet is warming, yes in time the planet will cool down again when the sun goes into solar minimum. Until we get several millenia's worth of recorded, observed data indicating a warming trend, we're all throwing darts at a dartboard trying to hit a moving bullseye.

Errr ahh, not seeing how the percentage of tornadoes can even play into any global warming theory Husker, there have been years in the past where the US has had worse tornado seasons.

Is 2011 the worst tornado season ever? Historical tornado statistics suggest near record spike in a declining trend (KML, map, pictures)

Personally, we haven't been keeping records long enough on this planet to seriously establish any kind of reasonable trend that the planet is indeed getting hotter or just going through cycles.(which is more likely IMHO) You'd need at least several millennia's worth of data to scientifically establish such a trend.

IMHO, there are too many people that have invested their personal careers, personal lives and have alot of money tied into the theory of global warming. The fact of the Wikileaks release of documents and the blowing up of "Climategate" makes me think that alot of people in power want this to be accepted as a fact to further their agendas. This is a very dangerous precedent folks, just because it sounds legit doesn't necessarily mean it is.

Let it be know gents, I'm all for taking care of our planet, we all can do more to protect and preserve it, even my beliefs are that we are to be good stewards of what we have been blessed with.

But when it comes to scientists fudging data to promote their inaccurate views and political agenda, THAT I have a problem with.

No offense guys, but don't let the fact the sun is approaching it's solar maximum get in the way of "theories".(yes folks, global warming is still a theory) For the past several months, the Sun has thrown a record number of incredibly powerful CME/flare events of which most have thankfully missed Earth. The auras of the north and south poles have been seen very active as well and even seen farther north and south of the poles respectively of their usual area of sightings.

Whether you realize it or not, our Sun is by far the chief influence of global temperature over the planet, even over the other planets temperatures in the solar system! Even the Mars polar ice cap regions nearly disappeared during the last solar maximum some 11 or so years ago.

When the sun is most active, our planet can approach record temps. When the sun is in solar minimum, it can get cold enough here on earth to reach a "mini ice-age" where the artic/antartic shelves can even gain ice coverage on the caps.

Just wait, in about 5-6 years or so when the sun reaches solar minimum you guys will be complaining about freezing your butts off...

Personally, I'm sick of hearing of Obama and seeing stupid gas prices everyday honestly. We get bombarded by this crap endlessly here in the states thanks to our mostly liberal, propagandist run media networks who seek nothing more than 4 more years of a lame duck, worthless, good for nothing president, who makes Jimmy Carter look like a respectable former president. My commute to and around work during the week makes me grateful I've got a 4-banger in my truck, at least I get good fuel economy.

That's incredibly awesome... A first-person shooter game already co-existing in the EVE universe... EVE controls the events in space, DUST 415 controls the events and campaigns on the surface of planets, with some degree of interaction I'm sure... Most awesome.

Now... If only someone could create a first-person shooter engine that co-insides with events and space battles in Crossfire, hell even a mecha game like the Mechwarrior series would be fabulous.

I've seen how another certain mod author has created a mod where battles can take place on the surface of FL planets, with vintage styled warplanes and even sea-borne vessels. I only fathom what OP could dream up in that regard.

Vehicles, armor, (maybe) mecha, sea vessels, sprawling and moving with already airborne LFs, HFs, VHFs, transports, capital ships and so forth across certain habitable planets in Crossfire... *sigh* One can dream I guess.

Seriously, many years ago, Electronic Arts in it's early days was a great company and had some really great games coming out of it's offices. Games like Pinball Construction Set, Archon, The Bard's Tale, Skate or Die, The Immortal(played this awesome game on my NES haha), The Wing Commander series, the Need for Speed series(pursuit mode is the most awesome race mode), Simcity, One on One: Dr. J vs. Larry Bird(played this on my old Atari 7800 LOL) , Command and Conquer and the list goes on... However...

Greed once again seems to have gotten the better of EA sadly and as a result, QA goes down and their corporate dividends goes up, making the leaders of this company start to care less about the people who made EA what it was and why it's hugely successful as it is now... But if things continue as they are this will quickly change, perhaps it may be for the better too I think. EA needs to get whacked back down to a more respectable size, return to it's roots and remember what it's like to be a small upstart, innovative and creative company again.

Besides, I didn't spill the beans yet on how to neutralize alpha and beta strikes... Much less about thrust vectoring, engine kill and ship maneuvering, those are far more important IMHO.

Oh about the "l33t gamz0r meeces", yea, this is why I've stuck with 5 button mouses. There is usefulness and then there is overkill... While the macro mouses are nice, they are very pricey and sometimes very cryptic to use, particularly for fast action stuff like Crossfire. They are a boon for RPGs and other similar role-playing stuff though for sure! 5 button mouses w/a scroll wheel, with good optical laser tracking and high DPI are more than sufficient for playing Crossfire.

I've done it on occasion in the past, it's certainly easier to do it against NPCs than it is human targets for sure though.

Oh yea, 5 button mouse FTW!

For an easy explanation to use multiple missiles and torps in one volley, learn how to utilize weapons groups in-game! This technique is invaluable in not only using what I like to call "Alpha-strikes" and "Beta-strikes" but also in using "alternate-firing" with guns.(alternating left and right side firing) Alpha and beta strikes are a two=edged sword though, in Crossfire the "splash damage" is greatly increased and if you're too close the volley's explosion, it can take out the volley, your opponent and yourself in one fell swoop.

Waiting patiently for the opportunity to utterly destroy hostile Dom bases once again in the Inner Core... *sigh*

There are more detailed maps around,(specifically CF 1.9) but you have to either know where to look, or who to ask.

Holy carp! My wish of a US based-Crossfire 1.9 server already comes true???

Seriously though, I hope he's got a better password on it than that if it's supposed to be a private server.... Dunno if I should flame-throw Talon or give congrats to the guy for getting up and stable!

Not much for general operations for each faction in the Sirius sector where most RP takes place, although some clans are more proficient in operations and information than others in regards to trading, mining, smuggling, bounties and so forth.

Perhaps joining one of them would would give you a good jump-start, unless you are headstrong and independent, then I'd suggest to be prepared to do alot of research...

However, I do have some information regarding the alien species and more distant sectors in this mod.

See my siggy for the link to download the SAL Xeno Guide. I will warn you though, there are alot of spoilers in it, so decide now whether or not you want to find out most of this information for yourself.

Aside from all of that, my only other suggestions are to either start trading in the sectors near Liberty space or start taking faction contracts against enemy NPCs and sell the pods at nearby prisons(like the two in Texas)

Once you get enough money and upgrades to max out a VHF then you can really start exploring all the sectors of Crossfire.
