  • R.I.P. Angmar Witch-King, Son of Angmar's father, 1955 - 2012

    I just got word that Son of Angmar's (PX member) father has passed away.


    I think I may have talked to him several times on the CF server in my 1.7 days, he seemed like a nice guy... I know there are many old pilots here that may remember him or knew him well.


    From what I gather from Son of Angmar and many other people who did know him well, it's said that he was a good man and a great pilot. More importantly, from my experiences with Son, I know he was a great father to his son. :thumbup:


    To Son of Angmar I offer on behalf of SWAT, the Silver Arrows and all Crossfire citizens here my condolences and prayers to you and all your family in this time of loss and grief of a father, a husband, an uncle and most importantly, a great man.


    Good journey to your final destination Angmar Witch-king, may we meet again amongst the stars one day... *salutes*

    Awesome work as usual OP! Definitely looking forward to more information as it comes about this. This could finally be a true successor to Freelancer yet.


    Why not just call it Galaxylancer?


    Set it in a universe where you can explore far beyond the Milky Way and it's star systems, like visiting the other Dom's star systems in the the Triangulum, Andromeda, Large & Small Magellanic Cloud galaxies and maybe even the Sculptor galaxy.


    This would mean many many many, star systems that would have to be created though. ;):thumbup:

    Come one, come all, Arkane is back in the saddle and ready to join up a merry band of noble men(and women) to go slay the eeeeeevvvil Doms once again!


    Expedition will start at the usual server time of 21:00 on 05-12-12, that Saturday morning for us North American folks, late(late) Saturday night for the European folks.

    Errr is this a laptop you're trying to put a desktop video card in Vishnu?


    If so... Heh. It won't work bro... You'd have to upgrade to a new laptop with better graphics. (damn Nvidia, whatever happened to the mtx graphics modules for notebooks?!?!?)


    If this is a desktop, as long as the motherboard of your PC has a supporting PCI-E slot that will work with the GTX 460, there shouldn't be a problem.(of which I don't foresee this as such) Check your motherboard documentation and specs as well as that for the GTX 460 to be absolutely sure.


    The only other issue I'd be concerned about is the power supply, most of the Fermi generation cards are quite power hungry from what I've read, make sure your power supply(at least 500 watts or better I'd say) is adequate or you could run into problems.

  • Doom 3 & mods

    Whoooo! Don't forget Quake 4 too! :thumbsup:


    There are a number of really great and promising mods out there Shockwave, however most are still incomplete or in early stages like Classic Doom 3, Doom Reborn (Doom "remastered"), Wolfenstein 3D Mod, Quake II: Lost Marine, Hexen: Edge Of Chaos and Into Cerberon (Descent remake).


    If you're just looking to "upgrade" Doom III and get some weapons lights, yea Perfected Doom 3 will certainly do. Happy zombie killin'! :thumbsup:

  • Another attempt at a Crossfire server...

    Not surprising, but last I remember OP's take on it, they'll never get the server to stabilize without crashes due to the constant updates to the server and clients that the Crossfire mod requires.


    It would be awesome to have a US server here, but I'd only join it if it had OP's support and blessings with it.(much less OP's knowledge for them to keep it stable)

    My new motherboard can't get here fast enough it seems... Of course the Easter weekend kept me pretty busy too with family and so forth. *sigh* Next time guys... :(
