Hey is there any chance this thread can get a sticky?
That is... If enough people think it deserves one.
-
You still gotta love the video.

[video]@Arkane: Are u not using Ms word or something like that?
Grammatical errors can be easily solved.
Yep, seen the modified/unoffical trailer years ago, some good WHOA factor when I first saw it.Nothing spoils your day like watching your solar system's sun go SUPERNOVA.
Nope, don't need M$ Word, Notepad is adequate enough for this... Yep the post reply editor has a spell checker on it already and yes, it gets used. :]

Hit me up sometime if you see me on Kermit, I'd like join you in your efforts and to investigate this matter further as an offical SA inquiry and as xeno-biological research. If DK weapons can be aquired as like the other Dom's in the Inner Core, by destroying fighters, I'd like to aquire some for the SA's clan arsenal and for further xeno-studies.
Oh yes, make sure you don't complete the GMG quest yet into the Dervon system yet if you're after DK weapons...

Congo-rats GrandAndreasK! :] I've seen you guys out on the server for quite some time(and thanks again for all your help and assistance!), great to hear you guys are trying to establish yourselves as a server clan.
The Silver Arrows stand ready to assist anytime you guys are out in hostile alien space or friendly space as well.

Had a blast and good time...except for the one guy that kept saying how the event was an epic failure even before the event actually started. Then thru the whole event, he constantly spammed group chat with "fuck", "fuck me", "fuck this", "fuck that" and "fuckity fuck fuck"...all with caps lock on, of course. Other than that, it was a great event. Considering this guy was a |PX| clansman, I expected a bit of maturity. Perhaps I was expecting too much.
I'd have to echo these sentiments and I know who you're talking about too Rex.
Sadly, my clansmen didn't even show up for the event... again.
And this is supposed to be our "role/job" in Crossfire.

Vice Admiral Sam Thomas, my situation has changed, I am now back in the Sirius sector in Omega-3 at Douglas Station. I need you to meet me somewhere before the operation today to offload a stockpile of alien weaponry in the clan arsenal and transfer some of them to "Fighter5" before we leave for the Inner Core, thanks!
-
coalition developed that technology and used it for surprise attacks... during one mission you accidentially got sucked through such a warp/jumphole and got the chance to destroy one of these gates.
however i dont think that coalition or alliance are able to travel at light speed, even in FL this is not possible
the intro can easily misinterpreted
probably it was some kind of sublight engine with a fast acceleration or some integrated jump technologywhatever it is... that are all pure speculations
Interesting... Thanks for the input OP. So maybe Hellraiser is on to something afterall...
Meh, I doubt I'll jack with the A.D. dates anymore at this point... :hechel:

thx for the SA story addition ORION
Your little modifications to my origina ltext make it sound even more epic !
Now clan leaders, include YOUR story in the CF timeline !
No problem Vice Admiral, just trying to give us a little "PR" in there...
I always did do pretty good in English classes in high school.
I still need to clean up a few gramatical errors I spot every once in a while on the history/timeline... The thing is getting so huge, it's hard to spot them now, too much text...
YES, clan leaders, hit me up with your clan's stories/history/timeline events if you want to be recognized in the Crossfire unoffical History/Timeline!
Hopefully, this will spur on some more role-play eventually and bring it back to the server.
*waves at OP*

yes i had them but i accsedently bolwn them off in a pvp last week and docked before i could see that they was goone cos i usaly play withe the misic off.
Heres how i got them i was flying from omega 3 and was on my way baqck to x when i bumped into this guy redherring at the omega-41 jumhole i scanned him and asked him where he got thoose torps then he said he had some in new york and i could have some for free. I went to new york and he had 3 of each also 6 together i picked out 1 setek and 1 razek. he said he was in a group in IC killin aliens aimlessly and he sudenly had them in the cargo. NO WRECKS. this matter most be investigated further tho.
The Silver Arrows will take note of this and investigate the matter further in Operation Impact tomorrow GrandAndreask, thanks for the heads up. If we find anything noteworthy to report concerning these weapons, I'll let you know.

Sadly, I have Starlancer sitting on my desk at home OP, but honestly I don't think I've been through the entire game yet...
So the Coalition had developed warp gate/artifical worm hole technology by the time the game of Starlancer actually takes place OP? Is that correct?
Still, going from the Freelancer trailer, I'd say both sides were still using light-speed travel within the Sol system instead of gates... Perhaps the technology was still in it's early stages and not fielded beyond prototype at that point? Only right before the NOMADs drove the Coalition out of Sol did the Coaltion setup a network of warp gates to all the solar system planets like what we see in-game in the Sol system?
-
Worm hole travel.
Answer to all your problems.
Now it wont matter even if Altair was in another galaxy 100bn years away,it would take just seconds to get there.
Remember, Starlancer had wormhole travel and the knowledge is lost till date.Errrr no Hellraiser... If you have watched the trailer for Freelancer, it's apparent both the Alliance and the Coalition had not developed wormhole travel technology, i.e. temp wormholes or jumpgates yet. Watch when the Coalition "jumps" into Jupiter's orbit and attacks the sleeper ships launching. They were still using hyperspace travel to get around the Sol system at that point, the way the sleeper ships leave for Sirius looks like the same "hyperspace" effects to me as well. Therefore, there was NO wormhole travel ability shown, light-speed or slightly slower/faster travel only, as wormhole/jumpgate technology is faster than light-speed travel.
-
but to be honest i havent read it yet
*sigh*

You're spoiling my fun OP!
Meh, I'm a perfectionist... You of all people should understand that.
What do you think of the history/timeline so far?
-
Instead of blowing them up, ask nicely?
Seriously, is there such a thing that the Seteks and Razaks drop? ( or Nepesh for that matter) If there is such a torp launcher, I've never heard nor seen it yet.
Have you tried looking for wrecks in the asteroid fields and nebula clouds in the occupied, hostile formerly Dom'Kavash Inner Core systems? I.e. from Venn to Ryssk? If there is something that rare,(again if the torp launchers actually exist) I'd look there first instead of trying to kill aliens first for them. The hostile Dom's seem to only randomly drop various alien guns, depending on the species' ship that was destroyed in my observations. Surely somebody would have said something about an alien torp launcher in Operation Wolfpack this past Sunday if they found one after all the aliens we annihilated that day.
Again, IF the torp launchers exist and IF they are dropped by destroyed alien ships, I'm more inclined to say the chances of getting the torp launcher are rare and completely at random. In other words, good luck getting one, you'll probably need to kill alot of them to find out for sure.

Crap, just did some research into how many light-years the Sirius star actually is from our sun, Sol...
Apparently it's 8.6 lightyears, a little over 2 parsecs. So, with the maps that I created using a ruler, measuring the distance from Sol to the New York system, we measure approximately 5 parsecs.
That comes out to rounded up, 17 years of sleepership travel in the Sirius Exodus til the Liberty sleepership hits planet Manhatten, not my first grossly over-estimated 125 years...(of which would be more accurate with sub-light travel actually haha)
SO! All the A.D. dates are fixing to get changed...
-
All right folks, the majority of the "timeline" is done. If you want your clan's "history" included in this, you need to PM me the entire history with "dates" as in the format shown in my first post. Later on I will "insert" the events so as to be "cronologically sound" and accurate to the Crossfire "canon" to the best of my abilities, while trying to do my best to retain the original information submitted as possible. So please read the entire history and write accordingly folks. REMEMBER, let's try to keep this as a group effort, coordinate with other clan's histories if possible so there will be no discrepencies, as it will make my work much easier... Thanks and enjoy guys!

Roger that Admirals. Lt. Commander Ryleous Arkane in fighter "Scout5" is standing by with "READY5" status at allied Dom'Kavash Mirrtrakk Station in the Weth system as per standing orders from SAC. Launch will commence on April 2nd at 2100 CF server time and rendezvous with joint-strike fighter fleet in Jormdar system to await further orders.
See you in space and godspeed gentlemen. *salutes*
-
Holy epic space battles that was a blast!(literally, I got blowed up reeeel good
) Thanks to the PX and Shockwave for the invite and for setting this event up, I will personally yank all SA by the neck out to the next one in the future.
Oh yea, if anyone's got some surplus alien weaponry to donate/sell/trade, hit me up next time I'm on, I lost what little I had in the expedition unfortunately...
-
My scout ship, "Scout5" is fully upgraded, armed, prepped and docked at Douglas Station in Omega 3 awaiting orders from SAC to launch and enter the GMG Hypergate into the Inner Core sector. GMG negotiations and reputation are good, therefore no expedition into Utopia or the Dervon system is necessary. On agreement of the SA's already full cooperation with The Order, myself and any other available Silver Arrows tomorrow will join as per standing orders from the Silver Arrow Command to assist any one in any deep space missions, as with" Operation Wolfpack" in the Inner Core.
To verify time, I calculated this is 2pm CDT time, Central Daylight (savings) Time in the USA?
