Nice one! I'm just the hack here at CF2.0 Portal Head Quarters: Make the tea, push the pen, answer the phone, read the posts, buy the Vodka for Friday night's smoko, but I'll put it to those in charge who pay my wages and see what they say. Thanks.

Nice one! Yes ….. I understand your sentiments about God Mode. I've done the CF SP story but got killed/beaten/resurrected many, many times. Are you saying you completed the SP story without dying8|?

    Hi. wombat1940

Unless you got a hold of the Dragonfly from a clan base, the cruising speed for all other ships is the same and a freighter like the Dromedary should stop fine at way point destination, as another problem can exist if you are not in SP using the God cheat radiation can be a problem in some sectors but The Mining ship is almost immune to it, so that ship should do both no problem.

Thanks Ringo. Actually I seem to be stopping more on a regular basing now. I fact I can't think when I have not auto stopped in the last two weeks. I do a lot of waypoint to waypoint flying in my System exploratory role. Yes I am flying in SP and I do fly in God mode but I've got no interest in the "fighting and what stuff". I'm either friendly or neutral with everybody except the Nomads of course. I personally don't consider "God Mode" as cheating because I'm a pacifist and never fire a shot even in anger. Well ……… fire a few off at those Nomads occasionally …… they're such a pain. I think I only get the overrun problem with "target object" maybe. I'll pay more attention and check. Thanks again.

Usually the page loads for me on my mobile and firefox in less than a second.

Dunno about the problem above. It would help to know what you wanted to edit.

What I'm working on is in my first post of this thread. When I try to highlight the 6 lines of text it takes about 2 minutes to highlight. If I then click "Italics" it can take up to 15 minutes to finish; doing the change randomly over the text. If I try to paste the text in the same post (below the original) it takes for ever. :schimpf:

You used a tablet or smartphone for editing? I have witnessed also slow reaction times on mobile devices...

BTW: it would be better to create a ticket for this issue, as its no crossfire technical problem.

No ……. its a Gaming Notebook with stacks of goodies.

Ok ….. ticketing …… I'll check that out. Thanks. Sorry about that …..

I'm modifying text entries like this:

"Far Point was at first used by police forces from Tarsus as a safe and hidden place ( a dead-end System) for weapons testing. Then With the revealing of two new jump holes, police interest in this System changed. and It was often used by prison ships captains as a safe and shorter route to the Vega System and its big prison station. With a rising need for material resources, were scanning numerous local asteroid fields began and the commencement of was started building a new station was undertaken. This should have served as a restocking point for local mining operations. However, the finding of a Nomad depot put station construction was put on hold, with it eventually being and sealed. A decision was made to firstly undertake a thorough and deep scan of this System and only then resume construction of providing it was found to be safe to do so."

Its running extremely slowly: a single key stroke entry takes about 2-3 sec to appear on the screen. If I try to highlight the above (to change it to Italics) it doesn't highlight but shows this message after about 30 sec :

"swat-portal.com is not responding due to a long running script"

(there's no problem here as shown by the above)

    Can anybody help. Thanks.

PS. I'm attempting to make the changes in a Conversation post when I have the problem …….

What this got to do with FL/CF2.0? Its a story stranger than fiction and the graphical representation puts it in the CF2.0 class. It makes CF2.0 seem real. 66mil years ago a giant asteroid struck the Earth wiping out the dinosaurs. This documentary follows the process of how and why. Its an incredible story and makes my enjoyment of fictional CF2.0 even more enjoyable. Anything is possible. My involvement in CF2.0 is as an non-fighting explorer. This document is ideal for me. If you're looking for guns and Nomads, forget it. However, to have a System called Earth with such a storyline would normally sound totally fictional. BUT ITS TRUE!. In my case I live less than 1km from the site in Victoria, Australia from where the dinosaur bones where found and I didn't know!

The link is his here: Secrets of the Dinosaur Crater - Catalyst: Series 18 - I Have no TV

Sorry. That's the best I can do. Internet linking is not one of my strong points. :beaengstigend:

Is needed more pictures (screenshots) for various things (mainly stations) in CF, please look replies here: Bugs in Lexicon - SWAT Portal (four pages atm). I've added some entries from 1st page, but there is more you can get and upload it into your gallery. I can then add this picture into lexicon (it will be linked there with your album).

and you can earn a Portal trophy buy uploading these pics

    Photo Safari!!!!

Sorry. I'm uncertain as to who these posts are direct at …… ……. me? ……. is it to do with imaging for systems mapping?

I just wish I could understand more of what's going on here. It sounds so exciting and valuable for the future of CF2.0. The new portal is fantastic! I wonder around here …. looking here ….. looking there ….. just amazed at what I see and read. It all adds to my affinity with CF2.0 and everyday reality gets closer for me. Little things like Martind's introductions to each System at WIKI's "Sectors and Systems" Section. eg. Telosis … its a source for mining Alien Organisms! …… That newly found jump hole to Enyo (I had a bit to do with that … 8o) …… all stuff to add "depth" to the System. Nice one mate ….

I know, I know! Off topic! Sorry AJ. :hust:

it is real, I have seen this happen.

Way point Goto Freighters and larger ships are better at stopping just before the way point --- smaller ships and fighters most will hit the way point come out of Goto and continue at normal launch/ship travel speed. It happens in vanilla FL as well as here, I have left the game and come back half hour or more later to find the ship way out in the black void of space. :) :)

Yes ….. my point entirely. I think AJ was right when pointing out that it was inherent in Vanilla Freelancer, being nothing new and little can be done. In my exploratory role of "mapping" a system, I may setup up to 40 waypoints (depending on a systems scale) and have to be constantly vigilant to see I don't over-fly a waypoint and head into the ether. ;)
