Nice one. Interesting though. I've just had to reinstall CF1.9. Like today! Something went wrong with the original install, but luckily I was able to save my <SinglePlayer> folder with my saves. :walklike: During the reinstall I noticed a "Windowed Mode Option". (Originally I needed FL1.9 windowed so as to take screenshots using "Paint" ...... fortunately not any more thanks to your advice). I thought it was on that boot up window: the one where you select to play SP or MP. But after finishing the reinstall it doesn't appear to be there. ;(
My question is: can you play CF1.9 windowed? If so, where is it changed, or how is it done?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick responses.
    1. I have fraps on XP PC. Hadn't thought of using that. Thanks.

    2. I assume you mean <Prt Scr> when you say "print". I don't have a key marked <Print>. I'll check that Print folder ............................ GEEESSS!!!! its there!!! Rather, about 15 shot all of the same thing for every attempt I've made to paste it to MS Paint. I just didn't see the "Crossfire Shots" folder before. Thanks.

PS. No need for FRAPS now but thanks anyway.

Not sure where to post my query, but I'll try here. With my Notebook running Win8.1, I'm unable to take screenshots using MS Paint and the "Prt Scn" key. This is when in a mission. My problem is I get a black image when pasting to MS Paint. I've googled for solutions but non seem to work for me. I have no trouble on my PC running both XP and Vista. Its just the Notebook and/or Win8.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

On my Notebook running Win8.1 I am unable to write text in the "Message" section of a post or thread. However I can write in the "Subject" section of any new thread.

This message is being sent using my PC running XP with no problems.

On the Notebook I keep getting this error message: http://s47.photobucket.com/user/Wombat1940/media/Mobile Uploads/CF Forum Error message_zpshwwb9gdm.jpg.html?filters%5Buser%5D=11771267&filters%5Brecent%5D=1&sort=1&o=0

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

OOOOOOOOOPS! Getting confused ...... :1eye::blush2::blush: It was FL Discovery that I could window not 1.9. :patsch:

I am running CF1.9 and SP on Win8.1. Initially my mode was default windowed (my preference so as to take screenshots and save them thru MS Paint), Now ..... its defaulting to full screen (don't know why its changed .... ;( ) and I cannot return it to windowed, temporary or otherwise. Hence no more screenshots. :beaengstigend: In my setup the .ini file (in the EXE folder) is call <freelancer> and when opened with "Notepad" shows all the configuration setting. This includes the "Fullscreen=1" setting. I cannot reset it to "Fullscreen=0" as it it is a "read only" file. If I copy the file to Notepad, edit it to read "Fullscreen=0", and replace the original in the EXE folder, it still comes up fullscreen.

I also have CF 1.9 installed on a second computer running with WinXP. To go from fullscreen to windowed you press <Alt> <Enter>, ....... SIMPLE! But doesn't work, for me, with Win 8.1. Why is it so bloody hard with Win8.1to go from fullscreen to windowed. And in my case not possible at all!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

PS. Riebens. I see you're running 8.1 like me. Funny ..... I don't see the launcher.ini file in the EXE folder ..... ?(

Do you wish to play SP or MP?
In my case I only play SP. I have to disconnect from the internet before loading 1.9. There's a small file in the Microsoft/Freelancer folder advising the same. You then get no multiplay downloads (obviously) and can only play in SP.

Bugger! :tommy: Just wrote a long post about this but lost it switching to something else before posting. ;(
