taxing and server rules

    this afternoon i was talking to a guy called snake eyes.
    he has been on CF for a couple of days and was planing on bringing 6 other from void here.


    however it doesnt look like they will come as some freelancers have been taxing him when he is only lvl 24.
    he also find some of the server rules to much.


    i explaned the server rules to him as did Dopp yesterday and what systems are owned and that they are paid with real money.


    his main complant was that he couldnt explore cos of the pirates so i offered to show him round. unfortunatly he said no. i also told him to call either CFPD or DC if it happens again.


    what i would like all freelance pirates to think about is, is it worth taxing someone below lvl40? i was once a freelance pirate and befor i went hunting i checked the targets lvl first. this willl make it easyer for the noobs and more fun for the pirates and not killing a noob in a humpback.


    we need noobs to keep the commuity growing and the server and server clans growing. so pls look first befor picking your target and give the noobs help not gunfire.

    I agree people bothering players under level 40 are cowards. It is those cowards that will keep this community from growing. To remain healthy we must have new people to replace those that leave.

    in my opinion anyone whos flying a humpback/drom or lower/equivilent spec ship should never be taxed.


    1 they obviously cant afford to be taxed
    2 they obviously cant put up a fair fight to a pirate.


    a pirate who taxes such lo lvl players are obviously afraid to try and tax ppl like me who may offer a challenge, and a well deserved "poke in the eye"!


    IMO no one under lvl 50 should ever be approached for taxing.


    those guys that have been, heres a hint. buy a damn good fighter and train, when your wealth is enough. then by a merc licence and hire yourself to kill all offenders!!


    carbine & burro you're absolutely right m8's these n00bs are a key to the growth and survival of the server. ppl taxing them need to stop and think about that before approaching anyone.

    at the bottom is the list of "Taxes, Fines, Bounty" depending on player level. As this list starts with level 40, it implies no tax for players under level 40.


    So i see the taxing of ppl below level 40 as a break of server rules!

    I would like to know who these pirates are so we all can deal with them.
    As to Server Rules ,they work for Crossfire damn well :)

    Yep they are breaking server rules and I want to know who they are asap :)

    This sounds so stupid to me: DSF member has been breaking the server rules.... but you cannot show it and the member does not know about it.

    well, about taxing: yeah its stupid to tax anyone below lvl50, cuz they CANT have a good ship that can resist to us pirates. every (as much as possible honourable) pirate should know that and if you see a pirate taxing ppl's under lvl 50, then please post this here so the other pirates can have some fun [3] [3]


    about the resistance: well, if i see a player in APC/AT and lvl 65 - 75, i dont see the point why to leave him alone. he has the money, he can pay, and there is no reason why not to tax him. of course, if he can put so much money on an APC, then he surly has a full equipted char somewhere in the universe and he can get his "revenge" after he was taxed/killed.
    also, i was taxing lately, and , what not so strange is, almost every player wants to fight and not to pay tax. what is totally normal if we take the situation. so, if they decide to make a fight i move 2k away and call the fight so everything would be by the rules.
    but, i had some issues with the next thing: i want to tax someone, and i see him on my screen,2k away from me.
    after i said: pay tax .....k/M , some of them said ok and in 5 sec you see: "departing player ......." . to prevent this i usually shoot the player i want to tax once, so he gets fined for trying to escape


    and about the freelancer pirates: well, we can might be able to prevent them to tax ppl's under lvl50 , but if you still get some troubles with them, just call us and we will sort out the thing

    If you are taxed and dont wat to pay, then simply fight and honest fight. If you dont think your up to the clannege, then you can simply pay. I never have payed since i moved, adn never plan to. ^^


    If your going to try and pirate someone or tax someone, HAVE A LISENCE. If you dont have a lisence, DONT DO IT. I was attacked by some asshole named "Boomer" while in my Bullpup in X yesterday. He gave no warning at all, and carried no lisence. He simply floated behind me for a few seconds, and then opened fire. He managed to get my hull down to 30% with torps before i could move. I killed him in 5 passes.


    And on a side note, AFOD or AOFD (whatever) needs to be banned if they havent already. Not too long ago, about 4 of them demanded tax from me in X. Not a good idea. I started attakcing one of the bullpups when i almost had him, and he reloaded. I managed to take out 3 of them before i hit my own torp. I respawned, and killed the 4th one after he ran out of botts and batts to reload with. I have put the entire clan on my personal KOS list, and i havent seen them on since.

    I was told by a player called MorningStar that he had been threatened by DsF members. They told him they would kill him if he left New York. The trouble with that is, MorningStar happens to be doing a review of our server as well as our forums.


    Not only is he getting a bad image (as all other noobs are) but he also feels frustrated that no one can do something against it. The thing is, we didn't know until recently that DsF were doing such things. Now though, I haven't seen him online in a bit so maybe he already left and unfortunately, I lost the screenshots from our conversations.

    /D/s\F\ has no idea about this. DSF members are very friendly guys and dont even want to fight with other online players. This hole story sounds unbelievable to me.


    If you have some screenshots about this threatening please send them. Unless... im not going to believe this at all.

    @Sands of Time why would I ban anyone for attacking you in X?it isnt a non -pvp zone and hasnt been for a very long time.


    @DSF I would certainly have to have proof ,ie screenshots before taking any actions against your members

    My guess would be that he is asking because they were reloading.
    I think we should just add them to the F1 hall of shame - since the end result is the same (attempting to evade combat/not play fair), and that would get them hunted by people. The link to that thread is below:

    Actions have already taken by serverpolice.


    We cannot move anywhere without fear in our *ss that someone is going to wipe us out :) (i was killed couple of times yesterday) And also we have now a very bad reputation because of these things that we have not obviously done.

    The only reason we took action was after one of your members said to me, when I asked him "did you kill a low level player?' and his response was " Yeah and so?".

    It seems due to the advertise in LR and we now have the new 1.7 a lot of new players have come onto the server - and
    they dont know the rules,
    dont want to read the rules -
    and dont realise the server clans and non sever clans have got together to agree some rules for the benefit for all.


    Almost everyday now the numbers online can reach 50 and that never happen before.


    The way we treat these new players will be interesting.


    I had to take a small matter into my own hands after one of these new players attacked my train in NB and then called me a coward, p****ssy and worse when I saw him later in Hyperion - I have screen shots.


    After getting my 500k (cost of my cargo) back of him and having the time to show him why it was not a good idea to go around killing people cos he flet like it - I gave him some advice and moved on. On NB a fellow IOC member asvised him to read the rules and get a license if he wanted to be pirate.


    This is a conseq of the success of this server and we need to weed out the bad apples so to speak and teach the ones that want to learn a better way.

    1. i dont know what DSF is and i dont really care about that coz its not serverclan and therefore not important


    2. if you see rules been broken then make screenshots and send them to me


    3. if ppl kill low-lvl players they will have to deal with BG and those who know BG a little longer will know that we can get very angry


    4. CFPD is a police clan... but not server police


    5. i dont really care if a few players leave the server if they dont agree with the rules
    CF is the most popular server running a giant mod
    and CF is one of the oldest and most successful mods again... we always managed to get the server full and this will not change
