try to make an extra ship available...

    Hi.


    I want to try some ships that are available in the Single Player game (the one with story). I try to change the market_ships.ini to make a ship become "available". For example, I try to make a titan available, together with Rhino which is already available in Planet Pittsburg...


    After changing the .ini file, the game crashed...


    Can anyone help me / explain or is this some sort of protection agaist cheating?

    yes this mod does have a advanced anti-cheat system, so that probably why it crashed because this mod is not to be modified in any way.

    1. you are not able to edit files of CF
    2. you are not allowed to edit files of CF or copy any of its code
    3. yes its a cheat protection and a mod protection
    4. those ships are already in the game

    why should i had to make all the story alone without asking?


    It was not for this version of course but the spirit was the same.


    Anyway I get angry for nothing...but according to me this just ruins the game for all the new sp players who read the forum.

    I know that Ragnarok cannot be bought. I just want to try it out in SP mode and want to know roughly how long in the game before I can try it. Is it during the Story or only available in open SP.


    In MP, I will follow the rules....

    I can understand that Ragnarok is not available in MP if it is only for admin and serverpolice and I don't think I can become one of them... :)


    I am sorry if this is getting nowhere in this thread or out of the topic but Ragnarok is one my favorite ships to be in FL... so I need to clarify what to expect....

    Ragnarok is not aviable even in SP or Open SP as far i have cheked it ... and belive me ther are alote more better ships thean Ragnarok in Crossfire :)

    Then why add those ships in the first place when you can't even try them out?


    Don't get me wrong but I think this mod is great. I just think it is a bit waste of time or energy if adding something that cannot be seen or even "feel" it....


    I dun know about the rest but I think that a great mod like Crossfire should allow more ships available in SP modes and allows a player to try those cool ships in ealier stage especially in SP mode.


    Of course the above is only suggestion. I don't even dream of contradicting Mr SWAT_OP-R8R's designs. It is his mod and he should decide how it should be done.


    Anyhow, can't express enough how greatful I am that such a mod is available to the commitee...


    I guess I just have to try some other ships and thanks to all who post this thread... at least I know what to expect...

    the ragnarok and the roidminer are the only ships that are not available to you


    ALL other ships can be used in mp AND sp

    I think that even some of the Crossfire content is available in Single Player Campaign mode - you will need to play multiplayer to get access to all the ships etc.


    In SP, I have been to some Crossfire systems but have not been able to buy Crossfire ships due to the level requirements. I have been to Custodian? Hyperion? and Sol but have not been able to enter other Crossfire Systems in SP - I either get a 'entry denied' message or the system crashes.


    I am okay with this - I am sure it was done to balance the game correctly and some of the new ships are very powerfull. And I have enjoyed played SP again with the additional Crossfire content such as selling prisoners and buying extra energy for my guns.


    Nevertheless I am looking for another Mod that allows you more choice in SP - anyone recommend Big Daddy universe?

    There is the open SP mode where you dont have to follow the storyline to and you can go where you like and buy any ship you can afford


    but CF was mainly designed for online MP use

    Just out of curiosity, is one able to dock with the Nomad base in Styx in Single Player? It's never occured to me to try before and I don't want to go all the way out there unless I know whether or not it'll work. ^^
