    Original "AK-47" is called simply AK.


    But you are right, such a construction is so awesome that AK-74 (its modern version chambered in 5,45) is still used in VS RF. Plus, AK 100-series is deployed for exports, and of course, new AK-12, I ain't saying of spinoffs like SVD, RPK or any of those SpecOps toys chambered in 9mm subsonic.
