to the wise ones please advise. this has started and what does it mean, a sudden crash and in looking in this eventvwr.msc find this under windows section in applications.
information 14/03/2015 3.12.35pm Win 32k (Win32k) Application Freelancer.exe locked primary surface 9 times. i found this after looking in crossfire launcher log and is listed as code 1 straight after crash and looked in eventvwr.msc straight after that like i said. any idea,s please.

no idea, locked surface?? Maybe its due to compatibility mode thus videos can be seen - but somehow this should not cause a crash.

The corresponding crash files can be found in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive folder.
In that folder you can find ex. AppCrash_Freelancer.exe_"Something" folder (check date/time of creation)
In AppCrash_Freelancer.exe_"Something" folder you will find a file called report.wer which can be opened/read with notepad.Unfortunatly I cannot "decipher" that information inside report.wer, other that you can see which modules where loaded at crash.
It's possible that your installation is missing something, maybe Antivirus quarantined some files (please check that)

... this message and similar looking ones (in Czech: "Proces (Freelancer Crossfire) zadal požadavek na zakázání Správce oken plochy.") is normally shown in my eventwr/apps too and is not related to crashes (on my side).
