Apple has won its claim against Samsung, now the US laws have decided. Samsung now needs to hand over 1 billion dollars to Apple because of several patent infringements (software and design wise). Features that Samsung should have copied are:
- The jury found no infringement by Apple on any of Samsung’s utility patents.
- The jury found that Samsung infringed on patents for ’381 “bounce back” scrolling functionality on all devices.
- On the ’915 patent, relating to one finger to scroll, two to pinch and zoom navigation, all but three Samsung devices (Ace, Intercept and Replenish) infringed.
- For Apple’s ’163 patent (tap to zoom) all Samsung devices except Captivate, Indulge, Intercept, Nexus S 4G, Transform and Vibrant infringed.
Dunno what you think but 1 billion dollar - is that not a bit too much??? How can Apple have patents on those points. I mean every programmer can program a list to start from new if the end is arrived. Its not even hard to realize zoom and scroll functions. Most of the features are not even developed by Apple - but they do have the patent rights. I admit i am not a fan of Apple products - mostly because they are too expensive and well they are restricted. I find it very odd that such sums are result of a claim. 1 billion dollar *shakeshead* What are your thoughts about it?
