    Reporting Rule Breakers
If you are aware of somebody breaking the rules, then you should report this to the Server Police [GR] or Administration. Evidence of the infraction will be required, this can be either through witnesses to the event or screen captures. Screen captures are made by pressing the Print Screen button; this will put a screen print in the “My Pictures” directory of “My Documents”. The “/time” command should be used to show when any incident happened. If no evidence is available then the Server Police may be unable to act but they should still be informed so they are aware of the situation and able to keep an eye on it. Server Police [GR]will deal with all problems in whatever method they deem appropriate. Players do not have the right to police Crossfire and should not attempt to do so. Reports to the Server Police [GR] should be done so privately. Public accusations will not be tolerated either with or without evidence of the infraction.
It also is possible to use the Forums Ticketsystem to report rule violations

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • I also think that 'sit in X' is not against rules and pirates can legitimelly attack every other RP (pirates included) for tax purposes.

Maybe one suggestion for police: Creating RP events? (police one) ... I lead few of this (Liner run as example) and ppl liked it. ... but again this need spent time and someone need prepare such things. I can imagine many rp situations where police can play very different roles (use from trader to fighting ships). Everyone here who visit portal regularly can work on things like this and raise fun while in space for more ppl ... any voluenteers? :)

  • yeah... and if its closed people will choose arena or another system to fight

  • Ok, anyone can call me dumb, but I still don't see the purpose closing X. If pirates sit there and fight against each other they are clear target for police or hired mercs. Police need to be manned by an experienced police officer and they can fine/attack pirates e.g.. If there isn't enough police online (and ImO this is the real problem) the few ones still can hire some online merc to fight on their side.

I must repeat myself: any of you can create many RP situations for the fun with only a little imagination.

P.s.: if pirates left Arena and they are in X already there is a step already made for the right direction, right?

  • pilots must not sit in arena when they get summoned for RP-purposes this is clearly against the rules.
but hiring mercs is also some kind of difficult cause there are just a few (i know of) everyone else is either freelancer or pirate or smuggler...
    server needs more coppers!

  • uhm no. i already meant the "freelancing" cops and mercs. there are just too little against the massive amounts of pirates crawling lately through the systems (mostly X^^)... all the rest are (i think) civilians who minds their own business, thus it would also be difficult to advice them an active part in the RP.

  • Seems like the topic of this thread changed a bit from "close Arena" to "how to get more RP going". Unfortunately, you can't *force* people to engage in role play if they don't want to. Seems like there are many freelancers flying around making money and such and they may as well be playing SP for the amount of RP that they take part in or generate.

Right now, there is code that checks how much money you have and if it is 0 or less, you get sent to Manhattan with a bankrupt message. How hard would it be to have code that checks what level you are and if you have a licence? When your character reaches level 50, you are given a Warning message : "You must now purchase a role play licence or obtain a CSF/ASF licence from a GR." At level 51, if you do not have some kind of licence, you get sent to Manhattan to buy one.

You can't force them to role play but it should be easy enough to force them to pick a side. Once you do that, the RP will take care of itself.

  • if these newcomers were registered to the swat-forum as they should be then they can have any question answered from anybody online. i doubt that any newcomer wont get any info about whatsoever - this is not the problem. the problem is, most of them are (as i think) simply not really interested in RP as we know it :/

We need some who can explain and organize some so called unofficial events.

    1. what do you mean by "unofficial events"?
    2. who should do that?

  • when I return from vacation I promiss will take care about some nice action events (unoficiall ofc :) )
