  • Could be possible change cursor in "no aim" mod to be more visible? or set it in one from four available choices? In combat when is using more details (and enjoy CF graphics) is more times really hard try aim at target simply because is cursor lost in background or effects.

  • Just ran into this pic via Tumblr on DeviantArt, thought of asking if it would be possible to implement something like these huge rings rotating around a sun?
    Superstructures aren't unknown in the FL universe, considering the Dyson Sphere and all...


    Dunno where would they be placed, only that it would indeed be eye-candy. Just a thought. :)

  • wanted to include something like that in CF1.8 (the hypergate to inner core) but dropped the idea again as the spin of objects in FL is not stable

    And stationary objects in a very large Sol-like system? Those could look monumental with proper lighting and core sun... something non-selectable like those vertical base-things in Dervon system around that planet.

  • How about giving the scouser, train and soulforge train more armor and possibly increase the power of their weaponry, so that you'd need atleast 2 or 3 careful VHFs to bring it down?


    That way you could allow pirates to raid players in large transport ships, since the transporters could hold their own.
    Just would add a bit more other than just "Yo u, tax now" to the entire piracy thing in CF. Might even get traders to hire a merc for added defense?


    I dont know if that would take a load of time edit the armor and weaponry numbers of said big transporters, but I think it could easily add a new aspect.

    Well, nothing prevents you to hire mercenaries already, eh?




    As for making transports stronger... We've all seen smugglers in battleships those days,
    and I am not sure that is what those ships were initially intended for (this should change in CF1.9
    hopefully though).


    To me a transport should not be a fortress, and it should need defenders to protect the valuable cargo.



    Note: as a police officer, I have personally never been contacted for any escort mission -
    Either because I am not "good" enough (although I doubt to be the only one), either because
    transports/trains do not need/seek protection that badly?
    Maybe start here before needing game changes...

  • If i remember correctly OP said that he would uppgrade the train's turrents......but yeah the shield is still weak it lasts like 3 sec against a fully outfitted player

  • Of course you can hire a merc for anything at anytime. And I think OP said something about the cargo of battleships getting decreased in 1.9 .


    I didnt mean it in the sense of a fortress, but atleast so it could be under fire for a certain while, to allow it to get away etc. Or wait for clanmates / friends / a merc to come in for help.
    Lol, if transports would be godmode-flying-fortresses, half the players would probably be seen with a soulforge train.


    And my idea was to allow people to raid players in transports ("Drop your cargo / only the cardamine / whatever or we'll open fire."), and in turn, make the transports be less of flying business-class buffets. I think...if you'd need atleast 2 VHFs to take a soulforge out, that would be fair.


    And yeah, like I said, its just an idea to add more to the gameplay on the side of the pirates. A freighter under attack might also call for assistance of police chars, other freighters etc.


    I guess I repeated myself a bit here, but meh.

    as far as i remember this systems were made so it will be hard to get to hyperspace but now it is just TEDIUS to get back from ic
    op say that to have tl and stations were to dock the system must be colonased

  • More guns. More missiles lv9 with different rate of fire ...
    Better info card for ships and maybe add some armor on the slower ship (Saracens, saber ...) or subtract armor for fast ship (lag, persephony ...). So with 100% armor difference is more pronounced.

    I know it requires some resource.dll modifications but it's not too extensive, plus i could do this myself if OP agrees... I feel it represents much better the way militaries over the world (and in Sci-Fi : star trek) classify their ships... *check wikipedia and you'll see how it works...)

  • It would be good to have bether Power-Generators for the ships.....upp to MK-X for 100% extra power........or just increace the standard power output of the ships

    andreas : Where do you need more power ? i think the power balance is already great (getting out of power is a part of the game and if can allow ppl to double their power with generators, might aswell give them all the infinite_power core by defaut on all ships....
