is it real to provide in game some option like a ship painting?
like the clan can choose the color or image of ship...is he will be black...or red...or black in white stripe. Not only standart color. or like option for clan or their ships.
this is will be fantastic looks in game. if escort of clan ships will be have different color of others ships...their clan color =)

it does not matter need for speed or not not need for speed. I think is there only 3 ways:
1.The idea is not realizable
2.The idea is good
3.The idea is bad.
I think(if that can provide) this is can stimulate players to take official clans and systems. And a game will be more role...Question for OP:
is in 1.9 will be change some thin like: that that Corsairs NOT have wyrm,and flying on not their ships(or give for them and only for them 2 - 3 ships)...and police have wyrm...will it provide more categorical? that every fraction will be have only their weapons and ships...now can not tell where is corsairs and where is outcasts...they have nothing really no different. =\

Reptile : you idea is good and possible but what OP means by "no" is that he will not implement it for CF due to its complexity, handwork required and eventual problems. You can technically make as many ships versions as you want in the game (Eagle, Pink Eagle and Black Eagle are an example), each with a different texture (with clan colors and logos). Then you can place the ships on the bases you want and the cost and default equipment you want (for example : i made a rhino sold on Newark equipped with War'sys by default a few months ago). After playing 2 days with modding tutorials, you can easily manage that. However, where the problems starts is that there is ±10 clans active on CF with new ones appearing and others disbanding and that it would require every clan to tell OP which ships they want customized, then OP will need to make a new version of each of these ships, make them buyable on stations (max 3 ships per base) and make everyone download he changes thru the Launcher. Ofc, there is a huge risk of char corruptions and server instability plus the fact that the mod will be in constant growth in size (already over 4GB un compressed) because every ship you add takes a space and with CF1.9 texture improvement, many files will be over 1024x1024 px... That's why it remains "no"...

we actually have that already
freighters use a cargo drop fuse (but only freighters)Edit bycorrection: we had a cargo drop fuse on freighters but that got deactivated for some reason (cant remember -> will have to investigate)Edit by 2Ok the cargo drop was deactivated with the CF1.82 release. We suspected it to be reason for server crashes. It will stay deactivated for now. Once CF1.9 is running without problems we will try to reactivate this feature and see what happens. -
It was never truly worth it anyway. If 5% of the player's cargo was dropped after a death you were lucky.

It will be good to get this back.
It would force players to help and protect each other from pirates and so encourage teamwork.
