Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

  • yea about the space thing i just DLed 1.8 and got aomw message saying it was a bad copy or something. is there a chance that CF isnt compatible with windows 7?

  • First, welcome back! No, CF1.8 is compatible with Windows 7, we have users running it on various versions of that OS. Maybe an error occured during download that made your file corrupt.

    |DP|Shock · |DP|Shockwave · |DP|Skyfall · |DP|Red.Dwarf

  • We have a large variety of answers on the FAQ (hope you use english language settings on the forum)... there you may find any issue, or on other threads, we already have another thread especially for the Windows 7, with that title :D

  • If that is indeed a problem, then downloading with some other search engine might do the job... I know I had problems with IE but was downloading OK with Mozilla Firefox and Opera

    First, welcome back!

  • yes, and 1 more known issue with opening CF1.8 once its downloaded is some permission denying... if you experience that sort of a problem please google up the text and you should able to fix it, I dont remember the exact file name but I did have the problem on windows XP in case someone still runs it

  • I run Windows XP on my PC (not on the laptop) and I never had problems with CF, neither on Vista on laptop, had any prob with installing CF... dunno what bad luck some ppl can have xD

  • No, it asks me everytime I modify a file name or something, if I agree on doing it, I have to press 3 tabels/windows to change a folder name !! it sucks. (on vista)

On XP, you say to do something, it does :P

how about changing 'user account control settings'? you can pick between 4 steps (from 'always notify me' down to 'never notify me') which would solve your problem with 'having to agree/confirm the changes you wanna make on your system (unless you dont know what you do, so you better don't chose the part 'never notify me')

I never have to confirm any changes or get some disturbing 'windows is gonna make a change on that or that, do you want to continue? YES/NO' popups

that you don't have to confirm changes you make on XP like you displaying it, might be because windows XP does not support the UACS, like WinVista or 7 do :P
