Crossfire 1.8 screenshots

I would certainly assume that as the mod is not being charged for... same way in which my work is free for all, but im also all about knowledge freedom - so i'll share one or two nuggets of how i at least managed to get a starsphere working.

I tended to re-work originals to start with, but as you have pointed out it tends to look naff adjusting the existing ones so i took a step back and looked at the concept of a starsphere...

Essentially speaking the txture wrap issue need never be a problem because all thats needed is a surrounding display - who says it needs to actually be a sphere so i downloaded lots of hi res nebula pics from nasa and started to play with alternate methods...

put simply as apposed to grafting images to the inside faces of a sphere - i simply had lots of slight overlapping ,call it, screens going around and all textured up with a nasa nebula and this started to achieve results that had true potential.

The Denabe SS itself was a 2nd work around - i was going for a big band of nebula going around the system with an anomoly at one end and thats what i did - sad to say the video on media fire appears to have expired so i'll try and dig it up.

I'm not here to burst anyones bubbles - im simply proud of my work but as im being branded a liar (by you whom i have offered my work and help to) then very well, i shall try and put together a package of mini demos of the stuff i have done.

Fact is, that OP, as the head of this Community, has to act with open eyes - he is doing it for his work on CF and our community. Read the Forum and get an idea what happened in the past.

Even Fact, we will support his decisions - so don´t get offended if he ask for a showcase - which is quite clear if your work isn´t known.

Does anyone know how pointless and time wasting this is ? Not to mention it's in the Crossfire 1.8 screenshot thread.

Denabe Starsphere

okay, the sphere looks pretty good, but it is wrapped around on the sides - not 3d - top and bottom are all black.

No seriously,, its exactly as it was designed, its basically a ring of nebula - textures applied to a inverted ring - and that nice bright feature at one end to give it pazazz.

...Certainly NOT a re-textured original man, shame on you!

Im not saying this is a pinnacle of my work,, but a show of the fact that I have a good grasp on design and making some cool stuff.

..Notice my adaptation of the badlands which was the system just before that new starsphere

some old idea i like to remember for 1.8
to add a base where we can sell pods with a battleship
its a crazzy job always to ask someone to tranfer the pods to a fighter for sell

hey since we're talking about battleships - could we get mooring fixtures for CF planets too pls? I'd like to keep a BG BS in Custo not X. Thx.

are there going to be dockable battleships, the ones that players fly?
