on the previous [or the one before that] BG meeting laser said, that we ALL are putting too much hope for 1.8 [1.8 this, 1.8 that - u get the idea]... actually it really seems like many see 1.8 as a solution to all life problems [nothing personal]. But ppl will always cheat and when 1.8 is out, hardcore cheaters will find new ways to cheat

seriously, ppl, i don't believe anyone cheats in cf... that would b completely ridiculus.

ofc there r cheaters, but from the folks around here, i dont believe anybody cheats. it would require greater programming skills, which small number of ppl possesses here.

on the other hand, there is no real ground for motivation of cheating, since we don't have wars, nor we have ppl that need proving themselves better than they r, because they have none to prove that to and against whom.

I feel there is something wrong here, we want the cheats to leave and not the proper players.

It was mentioned that the only way for cheating to be proved is by scanning a players PC, are the powers that be able to do this?

Obviously the players would need to agree to this but why don't they. It may be a bit like having to prove yourself not guilty but for the good of the server why not do it.

It may all be sorted out in CF 1.8 but this will only be for a while until the cheats find another way to cheat. So lets find them now and get then banned. Solve the problem long term.

not only cf is not cs, but there isn't any quality software for cheating in fl, at least not one that would work in cf without major programming skills.

calling problems of different pings and lags for cheating is what we have here, imho. u can't defeat somebody who has better connection to server, since the whole trouble is about information channel. it was stated many times till now. and ofc, there is something called skill.

why do ppl lose nerves over something like this is beyond my skill of understanding.

It's funny - when I was in IOC there was some suspicion that Fallen was a clan of cheaters

What is more funny - when I switched clans - breaking 15 server rules in the process from IOC Az to LP Maudib

First something about your "Honest & polite players seem to be just empty words. "

In the few months i play here, i met 2 ppl that prefer to say "fu" stead of "gf", and many other words. Thats first of all YOU, LASERJET (imagine font size 100) (SPs and almost any player that did beat u in pvp can confirm that) and my beloved Gunny, with who the DR's had issues from the first day on we were tagged IOC and i think already before.

Anyways, back to topic:
First it was missiler noob, then just overall spammer noob, missiles that "NEVER" miss (my ammo said different), then it was unhittable ship with turnrate+100%, 99% gun accuracy, which can be summed up to 1 thing t: cheater.

Nofuture, Straw and me did about 1000pvp's and more in our first 4 months. You blamed us for being in Arena all day (while boycotting merc RP) and wonder why we got better in PvP (coincidence?^^) . Maybe u shouldn't run away from RP and hide your bounty chars in Custo ...
We trained very hard to be at the point we are now, and theres still plenty more to learn, maybe u think u dont need to learn anything anymore.
However, now u r the missile spammer noob (noob is meant literally , since spammers kill themselves mostly, from my experience), without positive results of course.

Personally i don't care what u think about me (u have proven yourself a lousy loser more than enough), but threads like that are going to make CF suffer a lot, and all just because your pride cant stand it.
Since this isnt the first time, us "newcomers" beating the "old schoolers" got blamed for cheating, i already had some talks with gunny. I did offer remote access to my computer (u can play the game from my homecomp and install any logware u want), a crc or hash check of my install folder or anything else needed to prove that ur accusations are just a prove of your own incompetence.
Oh u mentioned something about proofs.
Still i offer anything u got in mind, to check my folder (if u want after every pvp where i win), but i hope u know that u cant prove anything which doesnt exist...
Try pvp with KeoKuk or Kermit and let me know if they cheat too, they turn faster than i do mostly (this is no accusation, just a fact of their superior skills and knowledge of the game).

EDIT: @OP: Everyone of the named above had more than just training. Straw, Nof and me learned from anybody who offered us training and advise. No matter how often u won an event, theres always better ones, at least in 1 pvp of 10 there might be a chance to lose, isnt there?

for months i have to listen to ppl telling about cheaters... for months the SPs investigate in this issue... for months i had to hear excuses and other shit

and partly i have to say that im very surprised that the formal best CF players which won 10 pvp events in a row (all of them) go into pvps nowadays and stand no chance there
it is also very surprising for me that some players which had to call 2 others in order to kill one of those "old" players improved their skills over night... without any help... without knowledge about tactics/tricks that only the old clans have
from my point of view such stuff does not fit together

additionally to this there were reports about irregularities during the normal gameplay which observed by some players.
and the described irregularities can be done on the client side
im not going so far to call names here... but several ppl on CF are under observation already... and everything they do is logged
as the CF admin it originally should be my job to throw at least 2 players from the server since there are proofs of cheats.... i should... but i wont... i also wont publish a list with possible cheaters...
its my job to deal with that issue and not yours... and i deal with it by preventing those cheats in future by getting their pvp skills back to their normal low status
its their final chance coz in CF1.8 cheats will mainly be banned automatically and no1 will be able to convince me that everything was just a mistake

as for the remote access shit and the crc code... forget about that shit
SPs have investigated the different possibilities to bypass the anticheat mechanism and i have to agree that none of those checks will show a result since temporary files are used

Pretty much all been said allready. Even if I would want to cheat I wouldnt have slightest idea where to start.
Only one last thing.. I have seen several cheater in several games and all of them have something in common: They never play a game longer than 3 months. Why? Because cheating is boring and no challenge.
Those players, commited to the community, the server and their clans, playing most of their spare time here would have been long gone if they were using cheats (and probably are).

of all the things that were said here, the only thing that made me say "wtf" wasnt of laser saying that I and my friends cheat, I'm used to hear that since my quake online times...

now, in my experience, its not "old players" that improve fighting skills on a server, or try harder to find new "tricks" that no one had think off before

thats the "new players" role... and I talk by my experience, when I first joined IOC, it was given to me a hole butch of advices, how to fly, how to use missiles or torps... etc

and even after I learned that, I learned some tricks or copied some movements "skills" of several other players wich I found... to be good, and now I'll explain some of them, most of them I didnt had any help, simply because no one knew how to do it, or, didnt play crossfire anymore

continue fire

I first had this "idea" when I was having coffee with argos, and talking about skills and movements in crossfire, argos told me that simba, used the continues fire thing, he fired 2 guns in group, and then while those 2 guns were "recharging" he fired the all bunch, and there u have coninues fire....

now... when does continues fire are more eficient?

-at very short range, when the its almost impossible to see the crossair, or is just changing direction too fast

-at medium range, when its nice to see where the projectiles are going

-while FLANKING the oponent

the first player I saw doing this... and only, was fallen-saguinius... "not sure about the name"

he killed me several times when I was a noob and I coulndt even hit him a single shoot, why? because he was in an angle that he could hit me but I coulndt hit him

this is more effective when your ship have a better turning rate that the oponents ship, you can just stay behind him and "read" where he is turning

torp + nemesis

and no G, your teories are completly wrong....

to learn the perfect distances for this I spended more than 500 mill in amo shoting at nomads or simply shooting at stations, and I still do it...

this is just "playing" with the phisics of the game, with explosions radius, with the diferent speed of the amo and with the posicions of the the launchers in the ship.

the torp have and explosion radius of 25 m, the missiles have 15 m, when you fire them in short range, you'll get one single blast, the missile tracks the ship, and the torp will be closer than 15 m of the missile...

so, the torp explodes when the missile explodes, considering that the missile explodes at 2 or 3 m from the target ship, it leaves and max radius of 18 m between the target and the torp, so.... the ship will also take the torp damage.... tadaaa...

when used in medium range, you'll get two explosions, missile, and torp, plus, at medium/long range the distance between them will be more than 50 m.... wich is the radius of the CD explosion, so... the nemesis is used as a shield... for CDs, making the oponents CD exploding with the missile and leaving the torp continue to hit his target....

accuracy

how to improve your accuracy??? simple.... read carefully G

the Tiz is bad for accuracy, since it have lower projectile speed than the ppc/DKA/coa

so... in medium/long distance, the Tiz (or whatever the level 9 gun) will make u miss most of the shoots, simply because the crossair you see is not real, its not the crossair for 600 m/s nor for 1000 m/s its something in between.... so... its wrong

but, in short distance or, when the target is coming right head to head, the Tiz improves accuracy, why? because it gives a bigger "tolerance" for the projectile to hit, something like a shotgun and a single bullet riffle

so, I have a key to select/deselect the weapon number 1 in my setting, wich just for cuicidence its the Tiz in every fighter I have

now, just for a final word... when I first come online and start "getting" better, it come as a complete surprise to me that all or almost all the players here, didnt use strafe up or down, wich is rather important for me especially while dodging missiles during the turns

and this you turn too fast crap is hilarious... because players think that the oponent start turning at the same time as they do... wrong again
