  • A couple of times when there's been red lag I've tried to use F1 to refresh my character (and to save it's possition in case the server crashes). If the command of selecting the character times out I get returned to the menu and all the messages that took place before I timed out appear.


    The chat feature still works in this state so I can still communicate with other players. It is not possible to leave CF at this point without minimzing it and forcing a quit via Task Manager. The screens attached are from today and a couple of days ago. In the first instance I was flying a Kusari Destroyer in X-3043, and the second a Bullpup III in Arena. During both cases other players were PvPing within 5K of me. While I was able to use the launcher and get back onto the server after the first incident, it wouldn't function after the second. Also, it seems that after a few seconds of being in this state screenshots cannot be taken (otherwise I would have had about 6 more).


    I don't know if anybody else has had this problem, but I thought it'd be worth reporting. :D

  • Additional Problems:


    Yesterday i´ve had new problems which i never had before. After a server crash i had a few minutes where i don´t get the launcher updates [E12].


    And since about 3 or 4 days i have a delay while changing a charcter and get a message that it needs some more time - after some seconds all is going well.


    It´s for you to know, maybe it will show you something.

  • I've gotten the [E12] lately as well, but I don't know if it's related or if it's because I simply needed to connect to the internet first. Maybe since there's a trend it's something that can be fixed. :D

  • I´m always connected to the internet and it´s not about a wrong configuration ;)


    As i´m not the only one with this problems it could help Hägar or OP to get a thought where the problems are possible come from...

  • I remember that being said a few days before it happened. If all the updates happened the day I heard about it I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with this... Hehehe, maybe there have been many updates though. ^^

  • Server crashed now 3 times in a row after i tried to move my train (soul fourge) from sol to somewhere else. But only if DKs attacks my ship. After shield is down an hull damage starts - server crashes.


    I recognized this now 3 times in SOL, after i came off the trade lane to Jupiter and DKs mother ships have awaited me.


    Only want to mention it here, dunno if its a bug - but strange behaviour if it happens that way...

  • Yup Kermit and I were having the same trouble. We were doing pvp in vhf's. I am sorry that I cannot remember if a dk was involved. Kermit might remember better than I.


    We moved the combat to dublin and there were no more "crash to desktop".

  • Having full-scale DK invasions of Sol would be a neat Dynamic Universe feature, but I'm pretty sure he meant Gunboats, right? For me the crashes only happen in the soulforge though if I buy cargo pods and then try to take off. :O

    Anyway, yes Burro i even didn´t remember wether we have had DK´s there while in pvp but because of the Sol run i was very often in the System at this day and i had 4 Crashes to the Desktop too where DK´s was involved 2 times. It happens to me in a VHF.

  • Sol run is still fun if there are fighter escorts, but I don't see that very often so the gunboats often do people in. Sure makes our job easier. :P

  • Sorry, I should stay on topic. Not sure if this is relevent, but I've noticed in PvP lately that spamming countermeasures only fools missile salvos a fraction of the time. Is this just my own fault for having bad evasives, or is there continuing to be a problem with missile guidance? From what I've seen in-game and on clan forums missiles only track on certain people on certain days and when they do work their effectiveness varies. I've also seen demonstrations in which missiles can damage subsystems that guns just pass through on certain ships. Maybe I'm wrong though? This subject mystifies me since I rarely use missiles, but maybe somebody else has had problems? ?(


    I have also observed that Battleship Flak Turrets are mounted in slots labeled "Flag Turret," that they really are pretty useless for anything, and that the advanced version cannot fire usually (instead the flak round sticks to either the turret or the ship's body upon firing and then harmlessly detonates a few seconds later without leaving the ship). Also on a comical note, when I type "/cloak" into console it won't let me. I've got plenty of H-fuel - wonder what the problem is. Quite the observation, eh? :P


    On the bright side, I've recently noticed that it is harder to ghost through objects within the CF universe than it used to be. From a bug-fixing standpoint the desired effect is greatly acheived. This is great because I can no longer exploit F1 to get inside of NPC station shield spheres (Tegaki's, Outpost Delta, Nomad City for example). :D

  • A major change from yesterday, I now crash to desktop periodically while in-game, the server itself has been crashing more often than usual, mouse-flight and free-flight randomy become the same thing for awhile, when I fly from one nebula to another that overlaps my ship cloaks. Sometimes CDs stop me from going to cruise, sometimes they hit with no effect. This is flying the Sabre.


    Also, there are systems with strange objects in them. In Sea of Shadows there are three Interspace Commerce depots that are instead labeled "Object Unknown," in Inner Cloud two of the Xeno depots display on the map as wrecks, in Neophobos a station section in the middle of nowhere is targetable. When clicked it locks onto Battleship Pollux on the far end of the map. The same happens with Paris Station with the station piece in Vega.


    In Sea of Shadows the sign is made out for IOC (in Neophobos it's still DaD), and another unknown object on the scanners in SoS appears to be a band of tanks tethered together with a bar. The infocard says it is a depot, but I don't know what to make of it. I also experimented with my faction reps and discovered that Tegaki's Base and Ryuku in Tohoku remain neutral even though all of my reps are either friendly or hostile (no neutrals). In Shikoku system Deshima is hostile to me because of my bounty hunter rep, but it displays on the screen with a neutral, white targeting box. Thought these were interesting observations... ^^


    Edit: the crashes, oddly enough, have made me lose around 200 pods today because every crash insta-kills my character somehow and sends it back to the last dock I launched from several systems away. Is this happening to anyone else?
