understanding the rules of this great mod, one thing that annoys me big time is this caper of certain pilots, i was going through x and avoid it like the plague if i can, however as i was takeing a short jump from one hole to another close by was attacked by 6 csf npc,s. n/p to that but suddenly on my radar a message tax or die. the pilot instagating the action was no where to be seen. i was defending heavily and of no chance in hell to reply and destroyed OUCH TAX 20 MILL THAT BLOODY HURT. i consider it cheating and a money spinning lurk not to give pilots a chance to reply. one thing it has done to remind me to avoid x when other pilots are there an keep on guard at all times

hmmm, ... the command to tx/fine from distance (without having your "prey" on radar/contact list lower left) should - theorectically only be known to Huor ....
-
This happens, as high lvl player you need expect coming pirates. There is also not important or 'fair' that you was busy with npcs ... you was worse prepared for possible role-play situation as you could be. ... and all started with your decision come alone to X-3043 where was 'unknown' pilot and hostile NPCs. What happened after were only consequences. You have (in 2.0) much better possibility to completely avoid X system and with this keep your chances to evade pirates high.
-
If there is more hostile npcs you not need to see player at all. npcs keep close and this player not need. ... with this he not show in left hud unless you scroll down.
-
This scenario sounds very very familiar or common btw... You must anticipate your moves, that's all ...
Normally, when i give a tax/fine command, i will let 15 seconds for the player to respond (i just circling around him) ... that's long enough to respond ... if npcs are around, i will let them settle first... but sometimes the players take this advantage by being killed by npcs purposely to avoid the tax/fine ... killed by npcs, no tax/fine being paid ... -
@Martind Forlon
... you got a point there, ... didn't thought about this possibilityThe Original
... more likely the "pirate" joins the action(not any "special" pirate in mind)
-
Hello APE, in fact, the pirate will join the action if he knows or see the the other player standing still to be killed by npcs to avoid tax ... no harm in that i guess ... hehehehe ...

But, u must be aware and cautious ... coz some pirates are friendly btw ... especially my pirate char ... i always engage in conversation first before issuing tax command

I am also used to this kind of "pirating". THis is one of the reasons why tax system favours pirates. It woulf be better if anyone anytime can kill a pirate on sight and sees him always hostile. Actually it should be because of this for pirate unsuitable to sit on "traffic" points because they should expect being shot at by everyone instantly rather than trying to find places where they can find an unseen place to do their ambush.

... just get a police license : pirates are then "Kill On Sight" for you
... but you for them either
... AAAND you can "counter-fine" them

This is inevitable, but Pirates should also be engaged by Navy/Police.
I just sold my Police license since I mostly was hunting NPCs and the repair costs for the license ( what in the end is funny, what can there be damaged or even repaired) are huge. -
This damage done to license is still actual (in some form)? ... there were done changes to this few weeks ago. I also hunt more and didn't noticed problem with licenses as I have them on all my ships.
-
problem was fixed some weeks ago
-
I will then do some checks again since I removed due to cost issues the licenses.
