Welcome back Zang,
are you up for taking your old XO post in DP
Oh yes very much I am. Thanks
Hi mate!,
Long time no see. Last time I saw you was our early DP days from CF 1.7. Back then you used the name Pheonix iirc. And I helped make the DP logo.
I would so love to join you on your quest for the DP clan again
WB
.. and btw it looks your mate from 1.7 want build DP clan: index.php?page=Thread&postID=322171#post322171
Cool thanks, it seems PX was banned a year ago, I shall try to speak to my old mate
As for that sorted, do any of you know where the thread is for freelancer crossfire in 1920x1080 resolution?
Ok I found the solution from one of the mentions of codecs in the one thread you provided.
So For this particular thread I shall update the first post on the solution which was that the Shark Media codecs I used was on shark suggested settings and turning it off fixed the problem.
Yea I did try to disable the intros by choosing the skip intro option in the activation. It still crashes.
Similar cases:
index.php?page=Thread&threadID=17870
index.php?page=Thread&threadID=22237
hmm, those above are for old versions ... have you downloaded CF 1.9?
Ok the solutions in those suggest disabling firewall in the one then it will allow the launcher to update. This is not a problem since the launcher updated fine with firewall on and completed successfully.
The 2nd one suggesting that I disable the lan to stop the launcher from updating also is not a solution for me since I did try that in previous trials after a fresh reinstall. it appears the problem arrises from the installation of cf itself?
Yep CF 1.9 that I am using now
Yes I thought it was the intro problems as well, but in previous trials I chose the skip intro's option in the activation screen of flmm 1.31
is there no way to set the compatibility mode? or something. I am sure that this could also be that crossfire was made for win 7 not 8 but then again windows 8 uses similar system files to that of windows 7 so it should still work in theory.
delete the old savegames
Right, I did that, still gives the error, first post has a picture to show what its doing.
OK so I installed the mod after a fresh install of freelancer several times now trying different activation options to see why the mod wont launch.
Basically whats happening is, singleplayer or multiplayer, doesnt matter which I choose, the intro to freelancer and crossfire will play with a black screen sound running, then it puts me on desktop, freelancer crossfire windowed mode then it crashes with no response error and closes itself.
I am running windows 8 64 bit, is there any solution to this problem?
EDIT: I also did test freelancer vahnilla, works flawlessly. So this problem is from crossfire. Attached is my snipped screenshot i took to show how it looks like
SOLUTION = Shark007 codecs was installed and on suggested settings, returning it from suggested settings to default fixed the problem.
Well as it states. Zangetshu is making a return. I will be online playing and wish to return but will be making a new character so will wish helping hands from fellow Crossfire members
Other than that, How have you all been this past year and a half I been away?
Now thats what i am talking about - People posting cool new map Ideas instead of debating real life in a "GAME"
hehe, just saying we should make another thread for the debating topic in this thread
BTW might I state that its just a game - doesnt really matter to me where what is since I will never be in space myself, probably gona be dead by then. As long as this game is fun enough for me then I am cool with what ever idea's get popped in. And that is one thing OP still gets right with freelancer. Thank you again for the hard work OP! (wish I knew more about modding and programming, then id actually do more than just posting thanks everytime.....)
hmmm you know Rey, out of all the logical comments everyone (including you) gave. There is just one Most logical factor that everyone forgot. Planets move, asteroids move, galaxy's move, universe's move. And they all move in circles.
If ship "A" were to jump from point "Y" to point "X" then there is a logical factor that must take place. Which is the time it takes to travel.
Logical conclusions of the theory of jump gates are that the ship going through a jump gate would travel at the speed of light which in theory is still too slow given the fact the the universe is a really massive (if not HUGE) place. At the current state, the speed of light is the fastest way of travel known to man which is also yet to be proven by man as we dont have that kind of technology. Everything is still theoretical and I dont think we will ever have the means to create that technology to prove the theory correct.
Anyways back on topic. What I am trying to say is that it doesnt matter where the gates should be placed in a system, what REALLY should matter is where the gates are pointing and an accurate calculation of data must be present.
Example: If I was to shoot myself with a rocket from the moon to mars, I would be thrown in a vector course towards mars with nothing but momentum. In that case I would have to point where mars would be in the time it would take me to get there which would be say....a course of 8 months (roughly calculated) and then also point where mars would be in 8 months which is where I would have to point my rocket before luanch in order to be EXACTLY on target.
Likewise the jumpgates have a similar function and since they calculate in the speed of light, the numbers would be too much for us to even comprehend. As long as your pointed the right way, it doesn't matter where you are as long as its the right way and also (one more thing everyone forgets) as long as you are not facing towards a solid object otherwise you will die.
Thus I conclude this debate kinda pointless and also shows the reason as too why everything seems out of place in OP's maps
Right time for me to go to work.
I still need to re-download CF as its now 1.81 and I dont have enough CAP to do so so I must wait until I get paid to download it again which is at the end of the month :(.....
Actually, Jim is not wrong here hey, that trojan is actually correct as me and blade got them too just recently. However do understand Jim that if you virus detector detects it as a virus, remember the virus detection is false and your virus scanner will try to heal it which in turn destroys the exe.
This has happened 3 times already though with me OP. Everytime I let the luancher update the exe shows that virus, so are you ABSOLUTELY sure that the virus detection is false? I dont want a pc with no anti-virus active here -_- and I never had this problem, it started just recently since 2 days ago.
Getting kinda tired of re-installing cf lol

yup, it crashed on 22nd, around 02.30am (CET) ... to bad
edit: dunno, but it crashed the moment i pressed "dock" to mooring fixture on NY planet ... or maybe it wasnt me .. no idea ..
one thing I have noticed is that when the cf server crashes it will take about 2 - 5 minutes for you to realise this where you will be kicked from loss of connection
The Dom'Kavash never really hated the Humans. They didn't even know much about the human race or showed any sympathy for the pitiful race called humans. All they were interested in was to harvest the energy of the suns to sustain their life and unfortunately, mankind could not allow this to happen as they cannot live without the power of the sun.
Thus mankind defends their sun by destroying the Dom'kavash trying to harvest their sun.
Another optional reason could also be that when the war between the coalition and the alliance reached its climax, forcing the alliance to flee to the sirius sector, the alliance did what all humans do which is the human nature. They took what they wanted without baring in mind the consequences and warnings. They entered sirius space, the Dom'kavash's previous home which was still sacred. Without knowing that the Dom'kavash still lives, the Dom'kavash saw this force of taking an act of heracy and in turn luanched a counter attack without even attending negotiations as to why the humans invaded their sacred space. In short, the Dom'kavash saw the humans as an infestation growing rapidly that needed to be put down before they would be overwhelmed.
I don't know if this is a bug but I am not the only one experiencing it and thus I feel I should bring it up here. There seems to be somekind of connection bug to international peeps but what I dont understand is that not everyone is experiencing it. You can read all about it here OP if you haven't already done so.

it's funny as the same has been happening to me, before was only sometimes, now, it's always.
Well then it must be something that was done to the server that is causing this connection probs for us international peeps. I hope it is solved soon, wish I could do anything to help but I did all I could by responding to the bug and reporting it.
