    is there any good way to raise reputation with Corsairs?
    I have everywhere "white" reputation only Corsair is deep red. They are enemies of Police and Houses, so I started shooting containers of Police, this changed rep with nearly everyone except Corsairs. Are they included in this "Criminals" group which are enemies of Police?
    My rep is stuck at a deep level, I see I have 1,5 empty fields left to the left border.


    I thought about buying rep foe them ( also, where?) and then start killing some of them to lower it again.

    Btw I bought now a Liberty Cruiser. Was interesting to see that it comes fully armed, you don't need to buy anything. Downside is that it is not very durable, bunch of CSF NPCs chopped me off easily in X-3043. I want to catch other cruiser to see how it manages. But the CSF Cruiser roaming there is actually much more durable. I checked its ASF counterpart and this cruiser has >300.000 Armour. Mine only 80.000 :(

    I wrote this hint already somewhere else, but here again.


    Start with buying first Startracker and then a Defender and better Guns. WIth Starfly and this Laser MkI nothing is going on but thats what you have starting money for.


    If you are able to go to Texas, go there and do as many missions to have at least 1,000,000 $.
    Then search the gate to Custodian north of Manhatten. In Custodian you can buy Eagle, Sabre, Titan.
    With them you are pretty well off and those cost you around 500,000. Use the rest for whatever you like to buy there.


    If you are able to farm >10 mio credits, I am recommending do the same and buy on top in New York System and System to the left upgrades MK IV for Shield and Power OR buy the Werewolf on Planet Pittsburgh and also those two upgrades ( but then you need much more money). I finished the 1.9 campaign with this ship easily but alweays had problems with energy. I should have bought the Power Generator MK IV. This would have made the campaign much more relaxing. Shield Upgrade MK VII you can get in California.


    @NucNuc the Oasis jump I also thought it is easy since there is a very nice ship. Unfortunately When you go there normally always Corsairs are waiting for you at the portal and blow you up. There is no way getting away from them when they wait for you, and to fight them you don't have the ship. I never had the "luck" that I jumped there and no one was waiting for me.


    PS: I finished 1.9 campaign with the ships provided (Defender, Anubis, last was Titan I guess), second time fully with Werewolf, for sure much easier. So it is not needed to push you from the beginning to the max.


    @Blaze1506 you will have to change your ship anyway after leaving Liberty space. Also you will get automatically more money through missions from story line or missions. Just see what comes your way. But for sure it helps to check the wiki for Ships and stay on alert when you go to this area. E.g. after some missions you will come to Kusari space where the Cayman can be bought.

    Actually want to buy a Liberty Cruiser to use against other capital ships since VHFs are also too weak ( even with Gatling/nem/cata/torps) to do real damage on those. Maybe also for some events may come handy :)


    FInally : What about Gunships? Docking like Fighters? Firepower mentionable bigger than of a strong VHF is described above?

    I am about to go for a capital ship.I learned that Battleships/Dreadnaughts are too big to use standard docking rings so have to use the mooring fixture.


    So my question: what about Cruisers/Destroyers? Are they also bound to the mooring fixture?


    Bonusquestion for the experienced: I expect heavy firepower from those bigger ships. Before the "rollback" I bought a Harbinger but only what was there where the 4 BS Torpedos and possibilities to put Turrets. Are there any ships with a powerful main weapon? I am scanning all capital ships I pass by and none of the values written there are impressive.

    Be careful, this is a Freighter. This means you cannot 1:1 use your gear like shields, shield upgrades. I aslo had a ship like this before the reset, it is fun. But also very big annot too agile, gets a lot of punishment.


    I added the turn rates I know ( average). Did not find Deimos.


    And @ threadstarter 6x10 gun ships I see very rarely. Normally people chose a more agile fighter. The 6x10 ships are indeed powerful, but on the other hand not very agile and big and therefore more likely to be hit. As people said thereis nothing best. Prices for ships are reasonable but not that high that you have tostick withthis choice forever. Anyway try what you like and switch to another one if you feel like it.


    I was stuck a long time with the Cyclone, then used the F-190 Malice. Right now am using a Saracen. But want also to try a Claw and a Chimera and in the long run have a Cruiser or a Dreadnaught.

    I can imagine if you just start with the starting ship and mk I guns this can be very hard.
    What you should learn from this is that better guns do more damage :)


    Get a Defender and better guns and will be better.
    Advanced hint: When you have your first "break" in story line to make money for the next level, go to texas for missions ( SAVE THE PODS and sell them at the LPI there, gets you lots of money).Do this until you have 1,000,000 and then search the jumphole in New York to Custodian. Buy there an Eagle/Sabre/Titan ( depending on your likes) and be much easier for the next missions.Note: Buying at this stage a 8-10 million ship does not pay off, you will pretty soon have to change your ship in the story line. Stay tuned.

    Be assured, game is challenging but very nicely levelled out. Just needs a little ime to get into it but definately is worth the investment since it is just great!

    Maybe you are loving geometrical aligned things and feel comfortable there. I can hardly imagine a system more done on a drwawboard than this. Even X-3043 is breaking the geometry x-form of the jumpholes by a different jumphole NE of planet Corssfire and for sure planet crossfire itself.

    If you have problems with enemy using nanobots then you have a problem with aiming or just your weapons do not have enough firepower. Check what Martind wrote.

    I your aim is good you can search for the MK II weapons in wrecks. They have a lot of firepower but low refire rate.
    Also in systems around X-3034 you can buy Kraken Type 1, very easy to aquire since you do not require special affiliation to be allowed to buy stuff. Good damage and not so energy hungry.


    For easier aim and little more damage Skyblast B works out very nice. You can buy it on few ports ( what may need special affilitation) or find it in a wreck.
    Note that to use this weapon your ship needs to provide lvl 9 weapon slots. All VHFs ( Very Heavy Fighter) have this. Check the link posted above and just experiment with the weapons. Also Wyrm can be fun! See with which kind of Speed/Refirerate combination you are served best.


    Around starting area you can also find upgrade of energy core ( New York system) and shield upgrade for faster recharge ( California System). These are pretty good versions of these devices and serve you well for the beginning, optimal ones are little harder to find :)


    For sure there are very strong guns available, but getting them is not so easy. For them you need to be maxed out to the level before.


    One last hint: Avoid missions with Xenos. These guys are like rabbits on the run, very hard to catch and doing few damage. So it is a matter of patience.
    Especially with weapons like 3.03 and 2 refire rate it is hard. I recommend for those at least 4, better 8.33 kind of weapons. If you have the choice go for Rogues, Mollys, Lane Hackers or, if you can, Outcast/Corsairs ( stronger ). All assuming you are after the criminals. Dont have experience with hunting Army/Navy.
