I also thought about this. My approach, if you really want to use 6 guns, use 6x Gatling on some VHF + Use weight reduction to improve agility ( but remember this reduces cargo and armour and does not change the size of these VHFs, the one which can carry 6xlvl10 guns are huge and therefore receive lots of hits...).

If not then use setup described earlier with Ancient Cannons. But Komodo Dragon is not to do this, he can only mount lvl 7 or 8 turret afaik what reduces the contribution to damage of the turret to a minimum ( and is therefore negligible and not worth spending energy). I did not test with other Turret - VHFs. ( Ah and Turret should fire to the front :) ).

In the end, it is like it is stated couple of times, there is no best VHF, but there are a lot of possibilities for you to find the one with the setup what fits best your style of playing.

Ai is fine. If you do not get along in a place go where the level of NPCs is a little lower and ascend again when you manage easily.

For me e.g. the CSF missions in X-3034 where always very risky, nowadays I manage them pretty good. Still I think that the coalition rogues are pretty tough and if I manage them I will go for the Aliens.

@Martind for sure rapid fire roxx, but if some people start playing rapid fire or engine kill I think are too much to be expected :)
The Hermes is really worth a try whith shield and power upgrade. ALso from style point of view my all time favourite is the Trident and this one looks similar.

Not sure where to put this but the AI need to be tweaked a bit. Playing single player, took me an hour to kill 7 xenos rookies.... one hour of just shooting non stop, my wrist and fingers are killing me here... Some times the AI doesn't register being hit, or heals its Hull HP with out the use of nanites...

7 rookies killed in 1 hour is insane.. just for a lousy pay out of 13K

Hi, please look around a little in the forum. The issue is not new :)
These Xenos are really jumping like rabbits. What you need here is fast shooting weapons and between the weapons the speed should be aligned, since the crosshair follows the fastes one. For Xenos I recommend weapons which have shooting frequency of minimum 4. If they have 2 ( means 2 shots a second ) these agile bastards are hard to kill.
When you are at the beginning then buy a Defender and mount a lot of strong and fast shooting Laser based weapons ( dont use the Plasma ones) if you are going after Xenos.

Basicly when you are taking missions I recommend you check the assignment and avoid the missions where Xenos are involved. Liverty Rogues are a much easier target :)

For SP I recommend to go from Leeds to Tau and buy there Vampire weapons, give you nice advantage. Lateron when you are on Kusari space take a short jump to Sigma-13 and buy there Skyblast B.

What you where missing at least

    - Restarting at mentioned point
    - Cleaned registry

Maybe do everything again based on NucNucs list. Maybe you believe him more than you believe me :)

Yeah inner core or the alien systems are better visited in a group ( when this group is supported by a BS and a Repair ship, this is great!). The hint for this is already given in the campaign when you are using the jump hole in Omega-3.

On your way through all the places there are not only some fighters spawning in your way but also full fleets with a carrier. There you could just go past them since it is not your goal to kill them, but if you go outside of the campaign facing them is why you are going to these places, and with a single BS or VHF chances are limited.

To me cruiser/destroyers are still a little too weak and killed by VHF too easily ( while killing e.g. Protons is very hard since they have mutliples of your HP).

I have played Crossfire 1.9, however, I deactivated the mod, uninstalled it via the uninstaller in FLMM, uninstalled FLMM, and deleted the Freelancer game directory and re-installed all of them before installing Crossfire 2.0.

I have deleted the folder from documents as well, however, I did not follow the guide and I will do so.

    Hi,

that might not have been enough.
1 ) In the installation guide it is also stated to run a registry clean.
2 ) Might be misunderstanding, but removing all Freelancer or FLMM related folders is mandatory - But not only in your install but there is also a folder where savegames are stored ( this is in your user folder ). Also deleted this?

In the end just follow exactly the installation instructions one by one.

... we are talking here ONLY about banking limit ;) ... try think little about this.

Hi, sorry to come back to this.
I have 19 mio on my char and 100 mio on the bank.
When I want to deposit something it says that 65 mio must stay on the char.
For me this says any char ( not the account) has to have min 65 mio before he can transfer anything.
That is a lot. Per account - somehow ok. Per char - wow.

Star Citizen I only saw some time ago, still this is early and by far not as finished as ED is.
Therefore not sure if this is something for me, at least looks promissing. But anyhow, FL:CF suits best and is worth to support. If we have here 50-60 people on the server as average will be already lot of sustainable fun.

Per char is really a lot. I have 4 of them and for all of them few millions each. Would mean that I would need to trade for ~60 millions more until I can start funding someone else. Idea was to fund the fun ones with the trade one. Hm.

Podding also another side: There are plenty of missions to kill ships which give you pods but also money on top.
For this Oasis and Sea of Shadows are interesting ( with good ship for sure) if you are interested on the lawful side. For beginning for sure any main planet.

For unlawful side go for their bases ( see Factions --> Criminal in Wiki). Daedalus System comes to my mind for the endgame and for the beginning New York ( twice!), Frankfurt and Dresden. Colorado I would not recommend, everyone hates the Xenos :)

PS: Since podding implies killing ships, reputation is key. You need to know what you want to do and what to be!
PPS: For podding a nice ship with good weapons and cargo hold > 100 comes handy :)

    Hi,

It shouldn't be an either or decision. Do what you like since you can have multiple chars!
Sometimes I feel like podding, sometimes cleaning up X-3034 from CSF, sometimes just trading and being easy.

    For transports:
Note that the docking issue is really decisive. The docking possibilities for bigger transports are limited.
Smaller transports can dock everywhere ( and are not limited to mooring fixtures ). With this you can have more sophisticated trade routes with also nice profit. Also affilitation is a point. For a transport or train imho being neutral to everyone is key, for a more agile one for sure also but not a must ( can be fun if not :) ).

Recently e.g. on Planet Aventin ( Vega ) there where Alien Organisms for 125 $ and could be sold on Planet Crossfire for 2700 $. Only problem : There is no mooring fixture on Planet Crossfire, so if you want to use this trade route, you have to do it with a smaller vessel like Humpback.

Then you found some shortcuts I did not know. Also where to raise rep and all this I had to find out also. Anyhow I did this only for my transporter char. For the others is in vain anyway since I like doing missions.

    Hi,

at first I do not think that I have to justify my opinion not to play a game. And on top you do not seem to read what I am writing, what makes me sad since I wrote it explicitly for you. You are still talking about connection where you live, but I already mentioned mobility. How does that fit together? Ever tried online gaming in a hotel? Via a DSL line shared by a lot of clients what is not stable? Thats what I am talking about. Or hotel has no line at all. But lot of people have to travel for a living ( consultants, sales guys). And being at home have to care for wife, house and children. So they are looking forward to company bought evenings in hotels during the week when they have plenty of time they can finally use for what THEY want to do instead of being driven by the three things mentioned above constantly.

And if then internet is slow or server is down because of some update or internet connection is limited to news, this is crap. Btw doing this via mobile internet is also slow and very costly and therfore not an option.

Shuttle and Alienware are also companies which enjoy these people as customers ( sometimes even sponsored by the customers company which tries to please their employees ).

That was just one group of people which where looking forward to the offline mode. Why support ED and not participate in the star citizen already? Because ED has an offline mode. That was very differentiating. Now not anymore.

But for sure for lot of people who are anyway only using their stationary PC , also regarding the NPC only version possibility, was not so decisive.

    Hi Gibbon,

as many others on e.g. kickstarter the offlinemode was one of the USP's of this space sim. For me this was important and since this is now cancelled thats it for me also, very easy. As mentioned before other people share this opinion so this is nothing strange.
Not everyone plays only in his room, lot of people are very mobile and you do not have fat access everywhere. Note that Elite and Wingcommander are also highly pushed on kickstarter because people who played the old original game are now 20 years olders and do have the money now but this comes from other challenges they encounter now.
