sounds like your solution could benefit a lot of players on CF m8. but a lot of ppl have no idea how/what to do (namely me!).

may be a good idea for you to make a thread with a detailed description/step by step process, with screenies, for us few pc illiterates to follow. and hopefully help reduce lag on our own pc's and on the server too.

just a though!

Yep, I agree with Dop. I would be happy to do my part but dont know how check and fix my computer per Gunny's and PC Force's suggestions. I run windows XP home. Thanx for any help.

What i wrote have nothing to do with real lag, if you have this issue what i described then you might think you have lag and actually its totaly different kind of problem which only concern what you see on your display and in same time your connection might be perfect.

BTW this option with memory dedication is missing in Windows Vista, only the CPU sheduling is still there.

Regarding Vista, its memory management internals are different from XP's. Everything is pretty much self-diagnosed and managed. I'll poke around and see what services can be killed safely to help reduce inherent Vista lag in the game (yes, it does lag in the game when running Vista, mainly because Vista runs SO MANY more processes in the background than XP). Don't get me wrong, I like vista, but I use it for programming, not gaming. I use XP for gaming, especially things like FL and BF2 who either run terribly under Vista, or in BF2's case, due to incompatibilities with StarForce under Vista, not at all.

For those wondering, I'm now running Dual boot with XP Pro, and Vista Ultimate Edition. And I've been beta testing Vista since Beta 1.

So, as I said, I'll poke around and see what I can come up with for those of you who are trying to run FL/CF under Vista.

not sure if that will help but till x-mas there are going to be several small updates of CF... that means if i ever get milkshape running on my pc again

i dont know if this will have influence on the current problems but ill see what i can do

PS: as for the lag, 3 nights ago, it was fine with me with almost 20 players (dropping to 15 when I left) just little yellow and 1 or 2 red. But yesterday night, even with only 9 people, the lag was heavy. Anything change in that time frame??

oh and a key wont help due to the fact that i have tons of keys and still get the error message even if the key was accepted

Finally when my FL is working on Vista, with surprice i found that my connection now is even better - nearly none lost packets, far better than before. I dotn know is it my ISP or windows job but i'm happy

I think that OP is updating CF Server. I hope it is back up online soon.
I think it is pretty simple if there is no server on the server list then how will you play

sorry my bad english//// it's difficult to expl.... i see in servers list many servers... nut there are no CF server... is it only with me?

Try selecting LAN instead of Internet
Then the only server that shows up is the CF server.
